    I would agree on a heat shield, I've had my Cyclone Rake since 99 . For sure one of the best things I ever spent $$ on.

    Hey Doug, thanks for the vid. You/We can see at 0:49 that maybe you can consider a heat shield mounted on the frame to help stop/ divert exhaust shooting on the plastic impeller housing as it will need replacing otherwise.

    I have had my Commander nearly 15 years and still enjoy it.

    I just assembled my new cyclone rake XL and haven’t used it yet since we still have snow on the ground. I also have a Kubota Zero Turn but not as beefy as yours and been wondering how well it would handle. Mine is a Z125 with 54 inch deck. I’m encouraged by your video.

      It does well on flat ground even mine struggles a little bit when the bag is full but only if I’m going up hills

    great video. Do you need to add counter balance weights on the front at all? Have you ever used it on a hill at all and if yes how did it perform? Any issues backing up with it attached? Thanks Doug!

      I have not had the need to put weights in front. Backing up is really easy because it has two points of contact where you attach it, it’s not like backing up a trailer. I have gone up a hill but if the leaf collector is full it is difficult to do so. Hope this helps thank you for watching

    Thanks for the vid!! I'm 53 and I'm done raking after this year so I'm in the market for one of these. I have a 26hp Simplicity zero turn mower. Your mower looks like it has more hp, do you think 26 hp is gonna get the job done? I was hoping so if I don't fill it as much🤞

      My mower is a Kubota ZG23 with a Kohler 23, it has no issues pulling the cyclone rake around the yard. My yard is mainly flat, when the cyclone rake gets full and you make a turn you can feel it want to oversteer because of the weight. So I believe your 26 hp zero turn will be just fine long as you don’t go up any slopes while you are full. Thanks for watching

    Awesome video looking into purchasing this same exact model. Question though, do the pto have to be engaged on the mower or does the machine create enough suction by itself?

    • @Dougie0049

      It creates enough suction by itself but it may not pick up everything depending how many leaves you have, but of course engaging the PTO would definitely help a lot. I always use it with the PTO engage because I used leaves ass compose so the mower will chop it up and fine pieces.
      Thank you for watching

    Do you have to turn on your mower deck for this to work or can you leave if off?

    • @Dougie0049
      @Dougie0049  Рік тому +2

      In this set up, The suction of the cyclone is not enough to pick up all the leaves from under the deck. So I do turn it on and it helps on mulching the leaves as well. Thanks for watching

    I've got a cyclone rake as well, I use it for my business. It's nice but definitely has some draw backs to it. It does not like wet leaves lol

      I can attest to that! It gives me a hard time with wet leaves too lol
