I just appreciate the fact you shop clearance. I’d love to get clearance as much as possible BUT that requires me to take my 4 kids out at night and my 1 year old HATES shopping. Just like me. Haha. It’s all done online and click and collect or delivery, and hopefully an attempt to race through Aldi for everything else while my older 3 are at school.

By that logic. I have been scammed so many times. I just want them to change it to the price that’s stated on the tag. I had bought my 1 year old some pouch food because he wasn’t well. If the tag wasn’t a deal I would have bought that pacific brand that he does like. The girl at the register was stressing out, I wasn’t mad with her at all. She called for assistance, the guy came over, went back to check and bought the tag back that was on there. They had to give it to me for that deal price. 4 for $6. I had to go to the “front desk” where they sell the smokes and finish of that transaction over there with the manager. Now if it wasnt me, it could have been a very nasty person the lady behind the counter could have gotten.
Yes if the price scan incorrectly, the current policy says you are suppose to get it for free. They shouldn't have a price scanning policy if they aren't happy to uphold their end of the deal. I have noticed staff are reluctant to give the product for free and I have no idea why 🤨

It’s a great tip to know. It’s not like the staff aren’t getting paid by the hour either, they won’t loose anything. It’s Woolies and Cole’s that loose out from people that can’t do the job correctly and make sure this type of thing doesn’t happen. I know my local Woolies has a revolving door of staff (some regular workers), but the new ones wouldn’t have a clue. It’s a great tip to know this. Thank you for doing the research on it (when ever you did it long ago), and sharing it with us.
Exactly you are 100% right, staff still get paid that's why I do not understand why some staff push back on the price scanning policy. Sometimes I have to literally show them their own policy on my phone for them to back down. (You can google their price scanning policy and show them if they are difficult).
Regarding the yellow tickets, sometimes I am not bothered to even argue with them. So I'll pay the incorrect price and then just walk to the front counter with my receipt and get a refund.
One time this lady told me the policy only applies if you walk out of the store. And I said to her "so you want me to go home with the incorrect price and drive back to get the refund"... when they hear you say it out loud they realise how ridiculous it sounds. I ended up getting the product for free.

It’s definitely a balancing act with little ones! Sometimes I find great deals on clearance sometimes I don't. So I tend to pop by hunting markdowns when I'm in the area 😁
