This might be a long but worth it story. A few weeks ago, I was working as a security guy at ROCK IN BOURLON, FRANCE. I knew Brutus for a few years and knew it was gonna be an awesome show but I had never ever heard that song before... As I was facing the crowd doing my job and they played that song. I couldn't hold back my tears. That was such intense. It felt like it went straight through my heart. The melody. The lyrics. I've been suffering with depression for a few years now. Jesus. I never felt so much alive that at that very unique moment... It felt like something was fixing inside my mind. I'll forever and ever cherish that very special moment. Since that night. Been listening to that song at least a few times a day. That makes me so peaceful. So... Thank you Brutus. Can't wait to see you live at Alcatraz 2023
PTSD trigger warning ⚠️ holy Christ I couldn't breathe first few times listening to this trying to choke back the emotion. This is a really powerful track. Her broken scream resolving into a howl is just unreal.
There truly is no other singer and drummer that sings and plays with such emotion as Stefanie. And then bring in Peter and Stijn and you just have some of the most beautiful music being played these days.
Since Stefanie is also vegan, it is not surprising she feels pain by just witnessing day in and out how people abuse non-human animals. To deal with that is a bigger challenge than finding vegan food imo.

The other singles from this upcoming album are cool, as are their faster songs from previous albums. But there is just something extraordinary about this build up and power. Feel free to disagree if you want; this is just the most sensational for me. Grateful to have caught the original live performance of this back in 2020. Think it was taken down.
This was my favourite song off the last album. Last year when I saw them live in Leeds Stephanie was in tears during the last song and was seemingly getting a bit emotional during the set too but held it together. I don't know why but she seemed very moved in a nice way and was very appreciative of the audience and thanked us all several times before they left the stage in a very humble way. They seemed more like happy tears than sad ones or perhaps 'bittersweet' tears but maybe she was just happy to be alive in that moment or something but it was a very beautiful moment either way. I love this band. One of my favourites right now. I'm currently writing a sitcom and I plan for each episode to end at a live concert and I'm really hoping one day I can get Brutus to perform this song at the end of the episode and as the credits roll or maybe just use something like this video interspliced with scenes from the show. In my head it's perfect and the lyrics are quoted in the episode and the song is relevant to it. Just a pipe dream right now but you gotta dream, right?
