I had a baby skunk , I named her Petunia , she was a sweetheart , she just loved eating crickets , and like this lady she was returned to nature .
I’d get so attached to these precious creatures and have a nervous breakdown when they were released back into the wild 💗
Ohhh she’s a brave lady with a big heart! I’m not sure I’d have the strength or courage to do a soft release back into the wild; my heart would be telling them to run free, but my silly head would be wanting to baby them for the rest of their lives, & yes, I’ll fully aware that’s not possible nor sensible! I’m just a bloody softy with animals. I wasn’t aware skunks were so dang cute, it’s not something you see on the regular here in the U.K!

Me, too! I treated wild foxes in my yard for sarcoptic mange last summer after one died by my deck and I realized how sick the rest were. Nearly a year later, I can't bring myself to stop the nightly feedings, even though they're well and off doing their thing most of the time. I feel such a thrill when I see eyes shining back as they wait for me to put out their dinner. ❤
It’s 100% possible. Skunks make GREAT pets. The problem is their stink gland. Removal is inhuman and leaving it is a community hazard. So in most places their illegal but not all places.
I have a family of wild skunks in my back yard, they dig holes to go from yard to yard. They're a stinky bunch, but I leave them alone.

I also live in the UK, so I often feel sad that I'll never see a wild skunk, racoon, or opossum 😭
So cute! We feed one in our yard, he runs off when we put food out. There is a raccoon out there also. We have feral cats out side as well. All doing great.

This reminds me of my mom so much. She once stumbled upon four chipmunks who had been abandoned and whose tailed were intertwined. She tried to domesticate them. Fortunately she came to her senses and let them go. She was always finding the neighborhood orphan and trying to take care of them. I miss her kindness.
They make the most beautiful pets. They are funny...sweet...they will get mad at you and nip your ankles and run away. Just adorable!!! They will sit up with hands up begging for u to pick them up. I had one for 11 years. Got her when she was just born few days. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh mer gawsh!!! 😍 I’ve raised 3 generations of possum from one my cat brought home and raised in our back yard. They’re always so adorable then grow up and leave so soon. Thankfully 1 female always stays and raises another litter. 🥰

As soon as I started hearing the little noises they were making in the first clips of the video, I instantly fell in love. They are so freaking adorable and sweet. We need to get the message out to more people that skunks do have this compassionate side to them and aren't just animals that we need to "be cautious" about.

My father had one when he was a kid, among other animals that tend to stray onto farms that farm families keep as pets. They named her Heidi and my father still speaks very affectionately about her to this day. We have several pictures of my father sleeping on the sofa with Heidi curled up in a ball, fast asleep on my father’s chest. She never sprayed any of them. Their dog, on the other hand...

I have never seen such variety in skunks! The ones that I've occasionally seen here (in socal) basically all have roughly the same amount of white on them with very slight variations in stripe thickness. So adorable, omg.

I had a pair of skunks by me for a couple years much to the dismay of my dog owning neighbors.
The skunks didn't stink, weren't digging in my yard, no kids, no pets so I didn't care they were there.

Today I rescued a bird from a cage that is meant to contain like water pipes and I didn't give up till I help it escaped under the cage I waved goodbye. It's very rewarding feeling to rescue an animal.

I have a family of wild skunks in my neighborhood, I know they're out every night because I can smell them. I once was BBQ in the summer and startled one. I said "Ooops, didn't see you there", we looked at each other and I went indoors and it went the other way. It went to the other end of my yard. Even though they're wild animals it respected my space and didn't come around me while I BBQ. My cat was sitting outside and the skunk just walked up to him, sniffed him and went about its way. I was surprised, so far my experience with skunks is their docile...at least these one's are.
