While I would agree with you, Dmc5 special edition released in 2020 and that's got Bury the Light, which is my absolute favorite video game song. This one is VERY GOOD though.

One of my favorite little details in this song is how at 1:28, if you listen closely to the instrumental, you can hear the opening guitar riff from Zato's XRD theme, "Black Blank Blah-Blah-Blah". It's such a small touch but every time I revisit this song it's a highlight for me.

I don’t think this song has much to do with “self love” Millia isn’t really the kind of person to care about that, I think it has to do with her getting past what happened to Zato, having to deal with emotion, something that a typical assassin shrugs off. The less-than-human self being Zato, whose been taken over by Eddie. Zato’s whole story is pretty messed up and Millia feels responsible for it.

Millia’s character is kinda sad. She just wants to live a normal life, but she can’t get out of the assassination guild or get rid of her Forbidden Beast, so she’s forced in this life. Even had to betray Zato-1, someone she likes romantically. It’s sad. But, her theme is gorgeous. It tells her story perfectly while also sounding amazing. Certified bop.
