Great tips... I've been doing print on demand for a long time but just recently (2020) starting getting into UA-cam... I don't know why I didn't think of promoting my products on my video. This is great advice. I would love to explore merchandise in the future and have always agreed that I prefer when people sell items that resonate with me vs. something with someone's face/name on it. This really gives a great step by step overview.

I was just checking instagram profiles of some influencers with merch & I felt really bad for them because I doubt they get enough sales from the designs I saw.
They made it all about them, their brand & not something that actually resonates with their audience.
Big brands can get away with this, but an Instagram influencer probably won't.
You could keep your branding style on the designs intact while still creating something that people can resonate with.

hi roberto great video as always i h ave just started pivotting to doing just rpg games , i know for instance i cant for instance just put the elden ring you died image on my t shirts etc however you died is a very universal thing for elden ring , can i get around this by doing it in a different way etc and is something like i rpg's aiming at the community
I agree I only have 350 subs but made two sales within the first week of my shot being open because I made merch designed for line cooks not just slapping my logo on everything and say “buy my crap.
To add to the design quality thing if your designs are not good enough they will actually get rejected by a Spreadshop.
Also I had a question. in order to get my own Murch off of spread shop do I have to pay full price and essentially “buy it from myself“ or is there another way to go about getting it?

I think by doing the sales pitch fun the chance of someone actually buying it increases a lot. When focusing on the audience, shall you write something they care about on your merch? for example if you try to reach people with mental illness, can you write something uplifting on the merch or how are you resonating when caring about the audience?

When is the right time to introduce merch for the first time?
You can set it up early or from the beginning but until you have at least some audience there is no need to aggressively push or promote

I would feel uncomfortable putting my face on my merch... As an author and illustrator, I will put my words and artwork on them with my name just big enough to read easily 4 feet away.
I don't really like the merch selling beacuse it's a 1 time buy, much better if your selling a recurring product like coffee, vitamin or something
