I got accepted into UNC!! Your video was the reason why I decided to commit. If you’re Black and considering UNC, please please apply. We need more of us in these spaces. 💞
Grateful morning. Great information. Our daughter is looking at UNC. She wants to be a nuclear pharmacist and UNC is a great school for pharmacy. She's also considering a few HBCU'S as well. We told her to keep her mind open and follow the money! Lol We live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas, so it would be a long way from home. Your information helps see the school in an even better light. God's blessings upon you!
Hi there! Thank you so much for watching my video. Having an open mind and following the money is great advice, lol! The DFW is a long ways away from UNC, but it is full of great experiences. Good luck on y'all's decision!
Our daughter is looking at UNC. Your videos are helpful. We are also African American and live in Texas. If she goes to UNC, we want to ensure she will be in a place that is welcoming and safe. That's a long way from home and we want her to make the decision that is best for her. Would you be open to chatting with her? Blessings upon you!
Hi there! I completely understand your situation. Me and her are in similar places. I would love to chat with her! My email address is linked in the about section of my channel - I wish y'all the best!!
My daughter will be there this fall. She will be staying in Horton. I went to an HBCU myself. So I was hesitant. I knew Chapel Hill was a great school, but after going to open house this summer I am extremely impressed. They seem to have something for everyone.
Hi! Was it hard to make friends/find a group being out of state? I’ll be studying abroad first semester too, so scared it’ll be hard to find my people in the spring!
Hi!! Not at all, and I’m a total introvert :) You can start with knowing one person and then you get absorbed into their friend group naturally! I hope study abroad goes AMAZING, and people will be excited to meet you once you get back 🩵
Hi! I'm going to UNC next semester as a freshman! I want to be a computer science major and double major with maybe english or something else artsy. I would love to be friends with you!
Hey sweetie! My biggest advice is to put your college name and year in your Instagram bio and follow everyone else with the same :) I put "UNC 26" in mine and followed everyone I saw! Then once you build that circle people will start posting about needing roommates. I found my freshman year roommate on instagram and we're best friends to this day!
hi! i wanted to ask how is it dating as a black girl at unc? is it hard? is there a good amount of black people? also, i’m thinking of majoring in stem as well. do you start in the college of arts and sciences ur first year and then declare ur major later?
Hey girl! UNC has a great tight-knit community of black people, most of which will become your peers and maybe even close friends. I'm gonna tell you what my parents told me when I left for college: keep your head on straight and in the books! College is the perfect time to find yourself, your circle, your hobbies, and your future career, so pouring into those brings even more good things ;) UNC has the college of arts and sciences, business school, school of education, school of media/journalism, nursing, school of global public health, and more! I'm a biology major, so I'm in the school of arts/sciences as a biology major. If you're still deciding (which is totally fine!) you can just pick a major for now and work on your gen eds, and then change it to the major you want once you're sure. Shoot me a message on instagram if you have any more questions or wanna chat about it :)
