@@m.m.2214 Hi!! at 12:26 I give you my stats and some extracurriculars I had!! Good luck, you got this 😋 just stay involved and keep grinding in school!
@BosoxnationI972 This is AWESOME! You went to some really great places! Carolina Square is such a nice complex and great location! Good fellows is always such a blast! Love drinking on the porch at Top of the Hill! Might as Well and Pantana Bobs are both great bars - they have huge crowds after midnight, lines out the door! Squids, Stoney River, Hickory Tavern, and City Kitchen are also all so delicious to me! Stoney River has an amazing Carrot cake if you go back! Loveeee this you sound like a local! :)
So here's my parking story... Year's ago (I won't mention how many) when I was faced with the prospect of having to pay a large sum (drinking money) to get a parking permit, I was walking by the university president's residence (William Friday before he passed away) and noticed these parking spots in the back of his house. So I looked up his number in a phone book and called his house and asked if I could meet him. He responded by inviting me to his house for lunch where I met his wife and we chatted about my first couple of years experience there at UNC. I then brought up my parking delima and mentioned that I noticed he had extra spaces behind the house, and I asked him if he would mind if I parked my car at his house for the year. He must have been impressed by my bravado, because he happily agreed! Not only did I get to park my car at the President's house for the last two years of my time there, but I also learned a very valuable lesson in life. Have the courage to ask, and the world may occasionally answer you with a magical, "Yes!"
This is awesome!! I actually also got to park my car at a professors house for a semester when I told her about my pains with parking, she lived right on Hillsborough street across from the arboretum! UNC definitely has amazing people around!!
I don’t go to UNC, but I’ve always been so fascinated by it! Hearing you talk about the campus and surrounding buildings really makes me want to visit! Also, seeing your dog rolling around in the background is the cutest thing ever 😊
This was a great video to watch mid-first semester to get further reassurance that we're all in the same boat. The part that stood out most was not to get annoyed when seeing someone at another university always out and about without a worry in the world.
Been MIA due to a broken computer!! But, I am figuring it out and hopefully will have it soon. Also, that stain on my shirt is water (lol), and it dries soon! :)
Committed yesterday so I’m #UNC26 and I’m binge watching all these vids as a incoming freshman! Any tips for someone who is trying to major in CS(ik there’s a major problem with the department rn)?
Hey, how has your first year as CS has been going. I got admitted to class of 2027 as an out of state student and wanted to know about general quality of life things as a student. Additionally, what is the issue you mentioned with the department?
Happy graduation🎉!! Thanks for sharing your experience to us 😀👍 Ahh I love it when a school has a beautiful environment😍💕 and omg, studying is so difficult from the school that I graduated from. there lots of homeworks and projects given to us compared to students of the other schools 😢
I’m going to be a transfer student soon and I’ve noticed the top public schools all usually have the same thing in common from what I hear and that is “Hard Classes” 😬
Omg i just graduated from NCCU in Durham. Congrats. I don’t know many youtubers in NC so this is exciting. We have to collab some time. Just subscribed to you 💕
Hi!! Good luck 😊 I personally was not a transfer or older student, but I did live with a transfer - and she fit in really well and got the full UNC experience! My advice is to live with roommates to help you assimilate, so you aren't alone - check out "UNC Chapel Hill Subleases, Roommates, Off Campus Housing & Apartments" on Facebook, people always post looking for roommates, hope that helps!
I was a transfer, and while adjusting to the academics and social life was challenging at times, I definitely have overall positive memories of my college experience looking back. And to be honest, I was so miserable at my previous college (which I won’t name), I was just glad to not be there anymore.
Don’t get me wrong, I love UNC, but class registration is ridiculous. I’m a rising junior and can’t register for any Econ electives and the computer science department is also crumbling with all their new students. UNC really needs to reallocate their money into relevant and popular departments.
Im 15 a sophomore in high school and I live in California is there anything you recommend to start doing at a early age to get accepted to UNC when I’m older
I toured a couple days ago and want to go into biology. Any advice for getting? I’m out of state so it’s a little harder but I’m in harder classes now in high school and I do fairly well. Any advice for classes to take senior year? This is my fav school rn.
I only new one student in a grad program and it wasn't law! I know UNC has a great law and business grad program. Maybe someone will comment back to you though!
UNC has a great law school, but it is more of a regional law school. If you are looking to stay in the south, it would serve you well, but it may not be the best fit if you are looking to move somewhere else.
@@alainacginger I wouldn’t really mind staying in the south to be honest. I honestly love NC...even though it’s the south, it’s different enough from what I’m used to (north TX) to still have a new type of experience there.
i’m from minnesota and i desperately want to go to UNC Chapel Hill or at least North Carolina state. Are they accepting of out of state students? And i’m still in high school but plan on doing community college transfer, do you know if that process is easy?
Yes they do accept out of state students. The transfer process is competitive so make sure you make good grades in community college and you'll be good!
I will be starting from Aug 1st as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmacology, can someone suggest whats the nearest residential community/neighborhood where I can rent a place, something on a walking distance. Thank you
Yes. There are A LOT. That was a misconception that I thought it was not going to be fun. Frat court ALWAYS has lots of parties, people have house parties.. it is a very fun school
I am gonna apply for unc this fall, as an international student, are dormitories available for masters students..... hopefully I will get a scholarship*fingers crossed*
