When I hear this, all i can picture is Cologero saying “This is the Fordham section of The Bronx... my home, a world unto itself. You can get to any boroughin 15 minutes from here but they might as well be 3000 miles away. That's Mount Carmel Church and the sound of the bells would fill the neighborhood, It was 1960, and doo-wop was the sound on the streets, It felt like there was a doo-wop group on every corner back then, what a time it was, the New York Yankees were playing the Pittsburgh Pirates in the World Series... and Mickey Mantle was like a god to me.”
@@mcconn746 ...the 'Crazy Eddie 'doo wop commercial of the 1970s is a good example of this...love that commercial... ua-cam.com/video/I_dl2tsuUtc/v-deo.html
Once you have talent like these guys they were in this probably the 70s and they still sound great and don't forget they're not singing with a microphone or having a band play with them just a wonderful video about them may they live on great sound and talent I give them five stars for doing this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯❤️
Great version of this classic Heartbeats song! I finally picked up an original copy of this on Hull last weekend, from a widow whose NY husband had collected doowop 45s...
This Genre The 50's Was Not Considered Doo Wop Back Then, Even East Coast Fans Never Considerd This Doo Wop, Early Days 1953-54 Era Was Rythm & Blues, Only In About 1955-1956 A Philadelphia Disc Jockey By The Name Of Alan Freed Coined The Term Rock And Roll, Even Out West Radio Station Disc Jockeys Called It Rock & Roll, information Has It A Disc Jockey Called It Doo Wop. How can anyone walk past this amazing performance? If I was in an ambulance being rushed to the hospital, I'd tell them to stop & open the windows & doors.
The best place in the world to hear street corner doo wop groups is at LEAD EAST which is the Largest 1950's party in the universe at The Hilton at Parsippany NJ each labor day weekend. The also have a huge stage show of doo wop legends. Norman Fox was there last year among like 20! Top 1950's groups....
See the 11 man group William Dell and the Weejams. They are a working group from Pittsburgh and have been around since the 60s. They getting a female singer from what I read.
Doo Wop will never die. Thanks Warren
