It is interesting how you do that, because I would put the dry in mono put the wet in side. Pull the wet to around the same level (because auto-gain is on)
right now your setup (Wet having mid and side) we can hear the compression done on there then you're added in the Dry signal that IS "Unprocessed".
So the effect is actually happening on the Wet not the Dry, but you're blending it in. If you don't believe me , take off the autogain, keep the dry gain low and keep adding the side compression and watch your side information disappear on Ozone Imager. You are still process but this is more of a parallel processing you're doing which will still get the job done. 🙌🏾

Yeah, I’m purposely doing this as a parallel process. Just widen the sides only a little bit. That’s why I’m just touching the wet knob. I don’t think it would sound very good if this was happening 100% of the way. It would get thin very quick & the quality would diminish. If the dry version works for you though, keep at it 🤷🏻♂️
My whole mix is already going through an analog bus compressor that’s in my studio too, so the middle is already being processed before it hits that side compressor. I’m literally just using that compressor for JUST the sides.

Can you do a video on mixing a song with a 2 track beat? When I use 2 track beats, the bass is always hitting too hard so I use dynamic EQ trying to tame it but I don’t think I’m doing it right.
I either take out too much or too little and the beat just doesn’t sound right. If you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know! Thanks !
