howd you get vocal aux on the input
It’s an open bus input that I renamed to vocal aux. you can make new bus’s in the i/o setup
How do you record on the print track there's no record icon. I've been using a regular audio track for my print track. Recording to that then bouncing just the print track . I just bought a ISA One mic pre. It's pretty much a modern 1073 made by Rupert Neve. I struggle with it sounding a bit distorted. My level is way down on it . I make sure my peaks never go over zero on my pre. I'm using a CL1B, LA2A and a Pultec on my vocal track in console. You think that's the problem? I gain stage by bypassing the inserts in console and go back and forth bypassing each one working my way up till all three are on. I check to make sure my volume remains the same starting with the Tube tech once that output is the same bypassed and on I move to the LA2A and so on. I was getting a better sound before using unison pre's in console. People rave about the ISA One . I never heard a bad word about it. I wish I knew where I'm going wrong here. I used to have a healthy waveform with my recorded vocals now it's tiny . Not very dynamic at all. F$#@ Any thoughts? I think I'm gonna try the 1176 and LA2A again in console with the pultec. Or maybe my distressor and the LA2A . I got the Avalon 737 and the Manley Vox Box in my Spark subscription. You have any luck getting a juicy vocal sound with those? Only thing that sucks is you can't use UADX plugins in console. That's how they get ya. You still need to buy the UAD2 plugins if you want to use them in Console. That's where those 2 units should be just like the real ones. Running into them before recording on the way in. I gotta figure this out I got vocals due that are late. This is pissing me off. Been singing for 38 years but only recording for 6 or 7. Nice tutorial. I like that you keep moving and don't hash over the same point over and over like all of us are sheep. The newbies can watch that shit but you'r more for experienced beginners. I wouldn't dare call myself experience in audio engineering unless I did this shit for at least a decade everyday all day long. I love this shit tho. Thanks Peace! Oh yeah I'm in a vocal booth using good mics, SM7,NT1, Mojave Tube Condenser . So it aint that.
Why don’t you just raise the volume of the track. It’s on the bottom left at the start of each track.
When I’m printing I make a new audio track then I route the prints output to the input of that track and record from there. As far as your distortion problem I’m not too familiar with your chain but I would take the processing off and trace it backwards even if that means using a different pre and testing the mic again.
Where did you get sf1 under the input of vocals 2 and 3?
those inputs don't matter I should've just set those to no input since we are dragging and dropping audio files into those tracks however if you were to record enable those tracks then I would set those inputs to wherever my mic is plugged into (for me its input 1). However, in this template the recording track is the track that has the mic input. This might sound confusing so TLDR just ignore the input for vocals 2 and 3 and if you run into anymore problems lmk
Bro I have a problem setting the bpm. Every time I change the bpm to the bpm of the beat it change his velocity sometimes the beat goes very quick and other times when the bpm is low it goes slow. I know how to fix it. That problem it’s preventing for recoding myself.
Not sure if you figured this out, but you need to switch each track from ticks to samples then set the tempo. Its a lil green icon near the read/write button.

Hello I have Protools 7 , would I be ok with still recording on that version or is it time to get a newer version?
you would still be okay to record but personally I would upgrade as there has been quite a few quality of life changes made to the newer versions

you are probably in the mixing window in pro tools try hitting cmnd (ctrl for windows) and = to go to the edit window view where things are layed out as horizontal track lists
