Put him in the hall of fame. If his record doesn’t quite get him there, his personality and showmanship should get him over the line. He was a key part of the 80s and the national game. Probably has done more for that than any AFL exec.
People today don’t understand capperbeaseley/dunstall/Lockett were doing this on muddy grounds with a bloated ball that wasn’t swapped out every 5 minutrs
Seriously, The Wiz had one of the strongest pairs of hands to have played the game. Could take the speckies obviously, but people forget what a strong pack mark he was.
Wow, he actually jumped higher than his opponents hip on at least two occasions. At least he was quite a character in the game which is certainly lacking today.
Any one of these marks these days would result in a free kick to the defender for “high contact” or “push in the back” or “inappropriate behaviour” or some such nonsense
Don Scott was the most miserable, and negative commentator of all time. Capper bought so much excitement to the game. Especially in Sydney where they were trying to grow the Aussie rules game in a rugby state.
That Joanne talked him in to it Money hungry,Even Coach Tommy Hafey couldn't believe it he said Your Not going are you all Warwick could do was Nod,He Should of Stuck to his Gut INSTINCT.DONT BE INFLUENCED BY OTHER'S ESPECIALLY WHEN THEIR FEATHERING THEIR OWN NEST.
Look at the crowds the swans we’re getting when he was flying high. The AFL owe him a big thank you.
Yep. BTW, can Sydney take him back? We can't get rid of him on the Goldie.
Love him or Hate him, he was pretty dam good

The mark at 5:33 was one of the most exciting marks I’d seen when I was a kid..
Even now it’s the quintessential pure leap.
This is simply immense

Gold !!!
what a beautiful catch
he was bloody good
The best 2nd action footballer. Its like he got shot after he hit the ground
The tension in his shorts released a shockwave every time he hit the ground
Hardly dropped any of those sensational marks, say what you want about him, however there’s no denying he was one of the Greats in VFL/ AFL footy
The Wizard doing his Magic ....
The hair got blonder and the shorts got tighter as time went by . Him and Trevor Barker were th best of all time.
Nothing complicated about Capper's marking. He just kept his eyes on the ball.
Best mark ever,, the Wiz. When footy was entertaining.
The flamboyant and the mercurial have pretty much been eliminated from the game…although this Kai Lohmann is a joy to watch.
Caaapppppeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr!
The one at 6.30 not the kind of mark you expect to see from The Wiz, a strength sort of mark. That more a Lockett style grab. :)
i miss the muddy days!!! lol
CAPPER!!
Bailey Smith...
King of the specky.
Which player in the last 10 years comes closest to Capper? Anyone? No one?
When AFL was real AFL
One handed Mark at height 6:28
👀

I loved the commentary teams back then, unlike the politically correct commentary teams these days that nobody has an interest in listening to!
There's no one there
Worst thing he did was go to the bears

She was beautiful.
The Brisbane bears playing the Fitzroy lions who is known today as the Brisbane lions
80s & 90s footy was the best
It's rubbish now
Agreed. They've messed it up with all the rule changes.
Seems the more high marks you take, the blonder your hair becomes ..... 🤔
