Lucky to be able to make documentation of this historic Driver.
Westrex T530-A This is a driver developed and commercialized by Bert Locanthi during the JBL days. Made by Lansing at the request of John Frain of WESTREX.
JBL 375 To add to historical data, the JBL 375 itself was not a Jim Lansing design, but the JBL 375 design was derived from the Westrex T530A SMA horn unit manufactured by JBL on behalf of Westrex in 1953 (similar in appearance and design to the early Model 375 gray unit which are nearly identical).
Westrex T530A itself is an enhanced design of the Westrex 594A. While everyone else has the same 4-inch aluminum Voice Coil wire and aluminum film design, the Westrex 594A is a line exciter, while the Westrex T530A is a line cobalt (Alnico) magnet.
The Westrex T530A was published in 1953 and launched in January 1954, while the JBL 375 was launched in April 1954.
So you could say the Westrex T530-A is a prototype of the JBL375.
In this video, we are trying to repair and upgrade from the T530-A to 375.
A significant difference is found in the Tube Horn throat, which was originally Pvc to Bronze Brass.
While from Diaphragm which was originally aluminum became Beryllium by (Radian).
Enjoy watching, hope it's useful.

Old School quality is wonderfully high, and robust! Built forever! So glad these artefacts were saved, restored and even upgraded! Would love to know what they sounded like new?
I'm impressed of how much work to put it and restore it just to make it sound beautifully good
very detailed workmanship 👍👍
sungguh pekerjaan yang luar biasa sangat profesional❤❤👍👍👍
I'm a big fan of your work love from PAKISTAN
Sungguh bahagianya org jakarta. Tak sia2 dari vietnam. Semoga semakin sukses, mas.

sampean memang benar2 jenius...
Expertise, workmanship, attention to detail and generosity to share all of it.
I appreciate and thank the channel owner for his dedication to his work and for sharing it.
One last comment: it wonders me that a person in Brazil can learn and appreciate the work of a craftsman in the other side of the world! Thank you!
WOW! What a work of art... And I can barely imagine how fantastic they will sound when properly horn loaded!
This was a complete overhaul, excellent job. They sound awsome naked, but put some radiators on those and it would be absolutely awsome. 😁❤
Hermano gracias por instruirnos👍👍y por enseñarnos a reparar estás joyas 👏👏👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. Qué buen trabajo
That's a great job congratulations
Ti faccio i miei complimenti, sei bravissimo un fenomeno, vederti all'opera è un piacere. Grazie ciao. Mario da roma.

Wih sangar Berry Lyum driver.
Speaker sultan tuh pasti.
Very nice work! I just got crazy when i saw the new Berillium diaphragma - these must cost a lot - damn! 😲😲
i retrofitted my Pure audio project horns with eminence n314x Textreme compression drivers and tuned it with dirac... works well.
beautiful work I can't believe it
lungguh silo kro nyruput kopi cangkir cilik ... sedep maaszzehh ..
That is a monster compression driver! 2" throat and 4" diaphragm? WOW! Looks like a Western Audio or Altec Lansing from the 1950's or 60's. Nice score bro.
Nice job sounds fantastic
Mantap ...
Fan/🔔o)))
Good as new. It really sounds excellent
This is my first time to see a driver of this type.
Mantap👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 jossssss
Nifty AF ! I didn't even see a coil ! Can anyone briefly explain how they work ? & what were those concentric/slotted rings all about ? They sure don't make'm like that anymore !
Bnr2 detail...success trs mas
Nice work 👌
Nice work, nice video!
Wow. I was not expecting to see a full compression driver disassembly. My only question is how do determine how much to magnetize the motor?
He read the amount before demagnetizing.
I'm quite certain you can't overdo it. The objective is a saturated voicecoil gap, and the materials and geometry of any given motor assembly will define the maximum strength.
Nicely done! For sealing screws, try Mastic Gum (Chios Mastiha).
Job good done 👍
Thanks for sharing
It’s very better with JBL aluminium diaphragm 😆👍
Spoko...
very pleasurable to view...
many thanks...
Yes, vague speaker designs are always welcome :)
I'm sitting here thinking "how is this guy not messing everything up exclusively prying on things with screwdrivers?" Then I saw the description.
5:58 Ah, that all-to-common tool: the prydriver (screwdriver used as a prybar)!
Impressing job! -As always
Thank you ♥️
Great Job 👏
Hadirr
My favorite part was all the bugs running around.
Mantap
You made a mistake, incorrectly connected the wires red to minus.
Very nice detailed workmanship. Why did you not add adhesive to Throat? Why not use the authentic Materion Bex 4016 Diaphragm?
Look pristine
great driver unit
keren sekali mas...
pengetahuan mu tentang speaker kelas dunia...
sukses selalu mas...
Beautiful!
Great video
these look like giant car audio tweeters of today ... thats nuts
You are a God...

Black wire to negative (-),red wire to positive (+) , apart from that good video
At first glance, I thought it was a bomb from world War 2 😂
Not sure the titanium diaphragms in my Klipsch Matrix horns are conveying all the beryllium / JBL subtleties, but those sure sound like the trumpet they're playing.
Yang paling bagus
No body is talking about the massive Beryllium diaphragm.
That’s gotta be $3,000 alone.
Good brother
These must have been incredibly expensive when they came out.
Mantap Om..
Mau tanya kalau service spul tweeter mobil bisa jg Om? Kalau bisa ada nmr kontak nya Om?

If those are wax plugs in the screw holes you could have just applied some heat to get those out a little bit easier..edit.. After watching longer.. I see why you did it the way that you did... that said.. this is some incredible work ..how you fixed those hold down bolts I have never seen that done before that was so cool.. the instrument that you hook them up to.. with the voltage.. what does that do?
The instrument is using electrolysis to coat the bolts/binding posts with nickel or something.
Magnetizer/de-mag
Wow . . . . . . ! ! !
Amazing that should sound 3d
Great Job 👏 - Hi 👋 from Russia 🇷🇺 …..

Beryllium dome. Isn't that a dangerous product. I know it is the dust from it that is bad. I just don't think I would use it, but that is just my opinion. On another note. Absolutely great work on the restoration. Good job. I would love to see them with horns and hear them again. Have a good day.happy
What dust?
You're not supposed to even touch it by hand let alone breathe any of it. The reaction to beryllium is unpredictable, often slow to develop and depends on the individual. I know he's not touching or modifying the diaphragms but damaged ones could leave fragments and dust of beryllium lying around. In those cases it would be very bad to shoot compressed air into the speaker components and blow that dust all over the place. Beryllium especially in the lungs is not very nice. Transistors with BeO insulators and x-ray tubes with metallic beryllium windows have pretty serious warnings about not messing around with them.
the state of that screw at 1:48 is truly upsetting
Amazing sound😯
Thank you
Best sound on Earth anyone would ever hear huh
Malang Hadir Mas Eko 🙏🙏🙏, lama tidak upload video di UA-cam, sukses selalu buat Satria Speaker 👍👍👍👍👍
Terima kasih 🙏
Mas saya dr Riau mau servis speaker,bs minta kontak nya g?
Berylium - best
I see this all the time. tightening screws and bolts in a circular pattern, instead of diagonally opposite, squeezing the fasteners gradually.
it's why buses, and fans in shops and supermarkets, rattle or howl. Young mechs use electric screwdrivers set too high. I could go on.
comments would be appreciated, thanks
12:47 the beetle in the background is running away
SUKSES SELALU PAK. THANKS FOR SHARING
You're welcome
Frightfully expensive diaphragms.
Thats sounds amazing so beautiful
Cảm ơn bạn nhiều
Great!!!
Thank you ♥️
👍
Precise equipment is assembled in China, after all, in an environment where flies fly.
👍👍👍👍👍
Trenggalek hadir mas eko
Just kidding the speaker boxes totally awesome
