Hatice's comments are naive and rude. Her first marriage was arranged. So would her A2nd marriage if ppl didn't intervene and have the Sultan marry her off to Ibrahim.
Lady Afife was more of a mother here than Hurrem. I simply hated how Hurrem treated Mihrimah at this phase in the series. True, Mihrimah's marriage would likely have to be a political one, but she could've been more sympathetic and offered her comfort at this time, giving her strength to pull through.
I really think the character of hurrem as written for this show was extremely narcissistic hurtful and mean... Probably suffering trauma from all she had been through being kidnapped at a young age and probably having been abused by others before making it to the harem... Actually to me all of these women as written by the show appear to be pretty terrible... But then again they were all trying to survive in the jungle... And apparently this was a really vicious jungle so one did what one needed to do to survive.... And for those hundreds of other girls who did not make it to the higher levels what are nightmare. I mean the mother of Mustafa the mother of a prince p presumably the next sultan and she was still a slave.
@@sharlimidbar5218 she wasn't before she arrived. She had to be pure to be admitted in the harem. Hurrem or the other women weren't hurtful mean or narcissistic. They were survivors who fought for their own life, a relative comfort in it and their children. Marrying Mihrimah to Rustem hurt her in a a way, but Rustem was loyal to Hurrem if for nothing else because she put him where he was and he knew she had enough power to take it all away. Marrying him. Someone loyal to them provided Mihrimah with security and while I wouldn't call Rustem's feelings love either, his obsession with her also meant she would be treated well. It was unlikely she'd ever marry for love. This marriage furthered Hurrem's cause (an ally for her sons against their rival) and while not a fairytale it was a good choice for Mihrimah as well or more like the best option realistically available. No woman in or around the Ottoman dynasty was ever destined for happiness.
I honestly feel like the Hurrem in the show seems to have some internalized misogyny. She constantly views other women as competition or objects to be used and moved around.
Yes, she does. In some other clip I called it "slave mentality" - she never recovered from this and she even made her daughter a slave to some stablesman whom she elevated to high. She always condones her sons deeds on the contrary - even when Selim & Nurbanu do things TOGETHER she always accuses only Nurbanu and is shocked, that Selim doesn't punish her
In real life Hurrem wanted her daughter to marry a young governor. It eas Suleiman's decision to marry Mirrimah to Rustem. I hated the shiw made Hurrem look like a bad mum.
Because she doesn't look like a Instagram model or a Kardashian clone? You trolls need to get off the internet and touch some grass. Neither Instagram models or the Kardashians are real women. The actress who plays Mirimah is what a real woman looks like.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you consider beautiful might not be another person’s opinion. All looks aside, can they act? If they can’t act their way out of a paper bag, looks mean nothing.
😅 well even if somebody better had taken over this is over the course of several centuries that it went from the greatness of Suleiman to being the weak man of Europe in the 1900s. And how did that work out for her? She married a man who wasn't in love with her. Pargali was in love with the thrill of the chase.

The clothing for this show and for the sultana's especially is magnificent!

Most likely not historically accurate. Their clothes would just be very extravagant two pieces dripping with jewels in real life

I have been watching her and I am wondering why she cannot see that her daughter was crying throughout the ceremony. 😢

That's how it was in the 14 the century..and yes every female was a threat that could send her back to concubine good in a second

I mean, yes obviously, we all do, but imagine in an Ottoman harem around the 15th century.
Yes, he's older- but he truly loved her. He would have done anything for her. Anything.
In real life, their relationship was a more positive one. They held great respect and affection for each other, at least.

The casting of Mihrimah was lacking . She should have been the beauty of the two parents . The beautiful fair child grown .
