I used to be a sport bike rider as well. They're a lot of fun, no doubt about it. But somehow I get a much deeper satisfaction as harley rider now. Sure they're much slower, but there's a feeling I get when I ride a custom harley that I never got from a street bike. "R MODE" is right, it's a good time to shop. And as for the winter, it's a good time for mods.

My '97 RK has 21/18 fat spokes. Feel like a king riding that bike. Big difference over stock. She's riding high with apes, stretched bags, fishtails and a 2018 soft tail deluxe tombstone taillight. Pretty sure she's the only bagger with that taillight. Takes some cutting, welding, fabrication, paint and wiring to make it work. Definitely not for the novice and it looks stock. She might not stand out in the crowd, but look closer and you'll see allot of little touches that only I know the story behind.
Quick question, which do you prefer...the Softail Deluxe Cholo or the Road King Cholo? Perhaps you can do an episode comparing both bikes...negatives and positives....Cheers

I just started with the fishtails but lost too much power. Now considering 21” and 16” apes on 2004 Road King. any advice chime in! That bike rocks. also and comments on lowering the front forks.

So glad that I came across your video’s currently in the transformation of my 2008 road king, and I’m doing the subtle brass look with my black and chrome. Have my cart from vitys loaded and just waiting to pull the trigger. I wanted to know for your road king did you get new bags? And if so who did you go with, I’m wanting to put stretched bags, with new covers that have Bluetooth speakers. lastly lowering the bike how and what is needed to lower it. Thanks man, glad the videos help. I made a video a couple months ago on the first round mods to the road king which includes the stretched bags/ fender extension / lowering and much more. But regardless, the bags are made by advanblack. The front was lowered by a progressive drop-in and the rear was temporarily lowered using lowering brackets. Just a cheap quick solution until I get real rear suspension.

I'm using a 150 70 18. You can give the belt more clearance by getting a pulley spacer. I was thinking about doing that myself in the future just for peace of mind. A (.125") spacer would be plenty to guarantee it'll never touch.

Oh any by the way have you replaced the stock cam tensioners? I’m sure you’re aware but it’s pretty much a must do for twin cams. If not you WILL have a high risk of catastrophic engine failure.

I'm curious if you can two up without any major issues with that 18 inch rear? I'd like to upgrade my wheels on my 16 RK soon I'm currently running 21X3.5 48 fat spoke in the front and stock wheel in the rear I don't always ride two up but once in a blue moon I might , what tires did you go with?

Where did you find the pulley bolts @ ? DNA doesn't supply them , if I wouldn't have came across this video they would have left me hanging on that situation .
I ordered ARP bolts online, different website. Diamond engineering also makes great bolts. As long as they're grade 8 or higher you're all good, just get the size I specified in the film
Does the front fender hit the triple tree at all on the RK or the Softail. Since it sits so low. I just did a 2” drop front end of my RK, it’s winter and can’t ride - so won’t find out if my will hit. Like the RK though!!
With bigger wheels comes typically smaller sidewalls. And a taller tire sidewall will absorb more bumps and vibrations than a shorter one. So the ride is harder, but with an 18/21 setup it's only slight and very tolerable for even the longest of rides. You may want to consider lowering the front suspension an inch or two if you decide to run a 21. Lowering it will level the bike out again. Once you go bigger than 21 on the front the ride changes substantially, and the geometry problems begin.
Incredible built so far, and to get the the Cholo look, you must add the saddlebags nostalgia rail guards made by steady customs here in Los Angeles CA is a must for ur built, if u like send me ur email & I’ll email u pixs of them, I installed them on my 2019 Road King Special

I had a tuner friend send me a semi custom tune that he personally built. It did wonders compared to the pre-config tunes already on the PV.

No mods necessary on the front fender. 21 fits in perfectly
I'm curious if you can two up without any major issues with that 18 inch rear? I'd like to upgrade my wheels on my 16 RK soon I'm currently running 21X3.5 48 fat spoke in the front and stock wheel in the rear I don't always ride two up but once in a blue moon I might , what tires did you go with?

Just curious J I think it's the myrtle trip and you guys are dealing with gas shortage, rain, and it's pretty cold out. What jacket is that black one your wearing when it's cold out? Just curious. Looks freakin warm is why I ask plus it looks cool too.
That jacket is as thin as paper. Just a wind breaker. Had a sweatshirt underneath, but the wind still finds its way in

Where did you find the pulley bolts @ ? DNA doesn't supply them , if I wouldn't have came across this video they would have left me hanging on that situation .
I ordered ARP bolts online, different website. Diamond engineering also makes great bolts. As long as they're grade 8 or higher you're all good, just get the size I specified in the film

Does the front fender hit the triple tree at all on the RK or the Softail. Since it sits so low. I just did a 2” drop front end of my RK, it’s winter and can’t ride - so won’t find out if my will hit.

Are the bigger wheels changing the riding experience? (softer, harder, etc) Do you recommend for a lighter ride that rides 3-5 hours a day? Thank you
With bigger wheels comes typically smaller sidewalls. And a taller tire sidewall will absorb more bumps and vibrations than a shorter one.
So the ride is harder, but with an 18/21 setup it's only slight and very tolerable for even the longest of rides.
You may want to consider lowering the front suspension an inch or two if you decide to run a 21. Lowering it will level the bike out again.
Once you go bigger than 21 on the front the ride changes substantially, and the geometry problems begin.

Those are just the stock bars.
