VictorEssex Satan has misquoted scripture. Jesus correctly applies it. Someone the other day tried to quote something his God and Father said in Deuteronomy 4 and said look Jesus said this when in reality it was his God Jehovah.
VictorEssex You know how Jesus quotes Deuteronomy scriptures for instance. It wasn’t saying it was Jesus but the God of Jesus, Jehovah in the context. That’s all.
VictorEssex I only brought that example up because you said others can misquote their bible. And I couldn’t help but think what someone did recently in a discussion i was in. I thought you as a bible student would know this. But I’ll quote it specifically. In Matthew 4:4 Jesus quoted this scripture in response to Satan. Where does he quote from. Deuteronomy 8:3 which says: “that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by everything that proceedeth out of the mouth of Jehovah doth man live.” So when we live God’s Name where it was inspired to be we see Jesus was not being spoken of here but Jehovah which he denies. Hope that helps you understand why I brought it up as an example.

As a former JW, they would rather only speak to ppl who don't know the bible so they can use their narrative. When they find someone who knows the bible or has a strong disbelief in what they're saying they will attempt to end the conversation. Good job keeping them engaged.
That makes perfect sense - why engage in a discussion with someone who has no interest or desire toward the truth?
People tend to overlook the first and most obvious part of the preaching work - 'seeking those who are ripe for the harvest'

My stepfather is JW and is forcing his religion upon my younger siblings, I’m a born again believer, I pray to receive the wisdom that I need to have a conversation like this. I know it’ll be intense but it needs to be done in order for my siblings to be allowed to come to a church service with my husband and I, I pray it’ll lead to their salvation.
Here's a quick list of issues surrounding Preston's proposed beliefs;
2:36 - _"I believe Jesus is the true and the living GOD"_ - *The Bible says:* Jesus declared His own GOD and Father; "the only" true GOD

4:08 - _"the Bible teaches - that there are three that bare record in heaven, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit"_ - *The Bible reveals:* this to be a known corruption of the Catholic Church, and has been rejected by most Bible translations today
16:28 - _"but about the Son he says, your throne O' God ..."_ - *The Bible reveals:* these are the words of the human Psalmist, whereas the son anointed to the throne is identified as having a GOD above Him(v9)
19:22 - _"why does Thomas call Jesus GOD"_ - *The Bible reveals:* Thomas identified Jesus as His Lord who was sent by GOD to save us - 1 Cor 8.6
30:50 - _"it means something completely different"_ - *The Bible reveals:* The title of the GOD in the opening statement is different than title given to the word that was GOD;

John 1.1 makes use of two different titles of GOD rather than attributing the same title to the word who was GOD
*PS.* all of these criticism were drawn from the WEB Bible translation, which would have nothing whatsoever to do with the JW translation(NWT)
As for salvation, it is not the religion that saves us, but our faith and belief in Jesus Christ who was sent by GOD to save us. And so, if a person puts faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ, then you do not need to pray for them, as they are already saved.

I don’t see anything that says JWs are going to hell they live by the book except for a few different understandings what I have Learned from them is Jesus is savior and God is God sooo many things in the Bible that can be misinterpreted but the serious things are concrete.

I grew up a Witness, and I can tell you, we were counting our time to be reported to the Watchtower society. I dreaded moments like this, when someone who really knew the Bible, would get into it with us. One time an elder from our congregation argued John 1:1 with a householder, even asserting that Greek scholars agreed with JW translation of "a god." The man replied, "No, that's not true, because I AM a Greek scholar."😂

The law is a mirror (tutor) to show us that we are not good (see Romans 3:10-12) and are in desperate need of the Savior Who perfectly fulfilled the law and offer(ed) us a better covenant the "finished work (see John 19:30)" His payment of His blood poured out for you and I undeserved, but for the sake of taking our place Jesus pleased the Father whenever He (Jesus) descended from Heaven still as God to humbly and willingly take on a body of flesh which had been established even before the foundation of the world (see Ephesians 1 & Hebrews 1-2).
I felt that man w/ the blue hat was listening intentively, like he was looking for answers. I pray that he will find the truth just as in bible says that when u seek Him u will find Him, if u seek Him with all *your heart*....

1 Cor. 15:26-28 proves that Jesus is not God. In the end, it says that Jesus will give all power back to God so that God can rule over him forever and ever.
I grew up between Jehovas witness, Catholics family all mixed. On top of that my dad is atheist. I’m so happy that God came threw, I’m now a Christian building that relationship with Christ and hopefully open one day open my dads eyes to God. #godisgood 🤍✝️

In all of my dealings with JWs, they have been incredibly kind and respectful. Very gracious and loving with all of my questions! Unfortunately, they tend to “run out of time” right when the questions and conversation starts getting good… wonder why that could be 🙃

Admitting to making false prophecies doesn't magically change them, they are still Bible defined false prophecies (Deut 18:20-22) Very poor reasoning, probably why JWs "suggested dates" and went beyond scripture.

That's because if they can't convince you of their belief, they see no point in trying to talk to you. Also they're made to believe that if witness listen to others' explanations, they are putting themselves in danger bc they might start to doubt. And so the problem with the proposed argument, is that it falls short of pattern establish in the NT with respect to Jesus Christ and His God who sent Him - as it requires that we remove or Jesus' God and Father from the picture so-as to make Jesus into something He is not.

JW beliefs follow the Bible. Most Christian religions follow traditions started by the Catholic Church which were influenced by philosophies, governments and false religion.
One must examine what the Bible says to determine the truth. Even doing a little secular research would prove the trinity was not a teaching of the first century Christians and came about hundreds of years later.
Twisting meanings of Greek words to support a false belief is not teaching truth.
Prototokos comes from the root words Proto, meaning first or only, and Tokos, which means to give birth to.
Toko- (prefix): Stemming from the Greek word "tokos" meaning childbirth, we have toc-, toco-, tok-, and toko- as combining forms, all referring to labor or childbirth.
So, Proto, first or only, as in prototype and tokos, to give birth to, means literally firstborn, not preeminent one as Preston tries to say. That definition was added to try amd support the false trinity doctrine, but is not what the meaning has been known to be for centuries.

We have our own bible, yes. But it's not different from any other bible for the most part. Mostly the New World Translation restores Jehovah's name to its proper position. Everywhere in the King James Version where LORD ( capital ) has been changed.
Example: Psalm 110: The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. King James Version
Notice how the different spelling ? LORD and Lord ?
Now compare it to our bible, the New World Translation: Jehovah declared to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.”
So the original was changed from Jehovah to LORD.
Here is another change - 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
Our bible, and all other bibles, except King James, " there are three witness bearers:8 the spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement."
Obviously inserted to promote the trinity lie.

That’s true, but what was Jesus gospel? Knowing that would be the basis to determine who is teaching the same thing Jesus taught and who is teaching another gospel.
Here is main part of Jesus gospel:
Matthew 6:9-10 in the model prayer, Jesus first told us to pray for the sanctification of God’s name, Jehovah. Next, for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
At John 17:26 in a prayer to his Heavenly Father, Jesus said I have made your name know to them and will make it known. Again, he emphasized the importance of God’s name, but he didn’t say “I have made our name known to them”, he said “I have made YOUR name known”.
Evidence that Jesus taught about the coming of God’s kingdom is the 24th chapter of Matthew. Jesus disciples ask about the sign of his presence, so it will not be a physical return where everyone will see, but one that will require some discernment.
Next, Jesus lays out the composite sign and then in verses 36-39 he says concerning that day and hour, nobody knows, not the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the Father. This also shows Jesus is not God or a part of a trinity because he does not have the same knowledge that God has.
Also, he continues to say that the end of this system of things will be like Noah’s day before the flood. People will just be living life and not caring or paying attention until it is too late.
Who are teaching the same gospel that Jesus taught about God’s Kingdom and about the sanctification of God’s name, Jehovah? Only Jehovah’s Witnesses. Everyone else is preaching a different gospel.

Funny thing is that John 1 : 1 was translated like that because there wasn't a suitable way to properly translate it. In fact, the "... the Word was a God" translation is deemed more accurate than ".. the Word was God", but the consensus is that the best/closest translation is " ... and the Word was divine." That's why its useless to have these religious conversation because, unless you speak those original languages, none of us really know what was really said or meant.

Why is the doctrine of the Trinity or the Triune God unbiblical and comes from pagan Triads? Neither Jesus Himself nor His disciples ever recognized Jesus as Almighty God. Jesus himself prayed to his God as he said. If it were Him, what sense would such a prayer make? Going to the Father, he told his disciples to go into all the world and teach what he taught them. And since he never mentioned that he is God only His Son, who always does what pleases the Father, who, after so many centuries, suddenly teaches something different? The words 'GOD incarnate', are nowhere written in scripture, and no amount of word manipulation can change that.

You’re right, there are lives at stake. If you haven’t studied the Bible enough to have these conversations, how do you know which one is right?
For example, most people who watch this would agree with Preston, because they have been raised or taught that God is a trinity or that Jesus is God. Is that what the Bible actually teaches?
Matthew 7:13-14 says “ Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.”
According to Matthew, most people will be on the wrong road, so perhaps Anton is right.
I speak 4 languages fluently and several others a little bit. I speak and can read and write in Spanish and Portuguese and can read some Italian, French and Romanian. I speak Mandarin Chinese but have not learned to read any yet. I can tell you that Preston knows nothing about translation and is just regurgitating nonsense he was taught by people who try to defend the false trinity doctrine.
Do your research people. Any legitimate encyclopedia will tell you that the trinity doctrine was not a first century Christian teaching and was developed centuries later when Greek philosophies and pagan beliefs infiltrated Christian teachings.
More importantly, what does the Bible say and what did Jesus say?

The Greek word used here, Prototokos, comes from the root words Proto, which means first or only, as in prototype; and Tokos, which means child birth. The supposed definition of “preeminent one” was not an original meaning of this word and was a later addition by those who support the trinity doctrine because they needed a different definition.
1 Timothy 2:5 says “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus”. This is very clear, Jesus is not God, but he is the mediator between us and God.
God’s name in Hebrew was 4 consonants, YHWY. In Hebrew this would be a three syllable word as the first three consonants would each be followed by a vowel sound, and the last one would end the word. Yahweh is not the correct translation of Gods name as it is only two syllables. The English translation of that name is Jehovah, and it was translated to English in the 1500’s.
The no J in Hebrew rationale holds not weight. That’s be like saying there’s no J in Chinese.
Look at the name James. In a Spanish Bible, it’s Santiago. In Portuguese, it’s Tiago. In Chinese, there is no direct translation for the name, so someone would basically make a name up or use something that would closely resemble the name, but may not have the same meaning. But what if they were translating it from Portuguese instead of English? They would come up with something completely different.
The no “a” in Hebrew argument doesn’t work either. Look all throughout the rest of any translation that didn’t pu an “a” in John 1:1. Are there any “a’s”. Yes, they’re all over the place. So, how could the translators of those Bibles know they needed an “a” in some verses, but be adamant that there can be no “a” in John 1:1? They can’t. It’s just a bad argument of someone who “needs” to stand on that verse as supposed support of their false doctrine. But, like Anton said, you can’t use just one scripture. What does the rest of the Bible say about Jesus, Jehovah, God’s Kingdom, etc.?
Don’t feel badly, it isn’t easy having conversations with JWs, they are brainwashed, not taught or instructed according to scriptures, into believing the lies their false religion aka cult wants them to believe. At least you tried.

No that does not imply God the father is above him, because they are One being, i and the father are one, Jesus is the interceder, hence why he showed us how to pray and needed the father and Holy Spirit to complete his task on earth, there’s rules that Jesus had to follow because he came to fulfill the law. This was a bit cringe-worthy to watch, simply because I felt soooo uncomfortable for Anton. Vaguely saying "many other translations do that" and then when you're pressed about it you can only mention one is really disturbing to me. And what's worse is that the Byington Translation IS published by JW. Every time dude says "I'll show you" he changes the subject. I don't think we should look at this as Christians and think "Man, Preston sure told him". This could have been anyone who is a Christian but does not know study the Word and does not know history. We should be digging into scripture and doing our own research to be ready for whoever comes to challenge our beliefs, be it JWs, Black Hebrew Israelites, Muslims, or Mormons.

mizzhaiti Yes Byington is published by the Watchtower, but the Revised Standard, New Jerusalem Bible, The Revised English Bible, The New English Bible, The Common English Bible, An American Translation just to name a few are not published by the Watchtower and they have the same rendering or an alternative rendering of Hebrews 1:8 as the NWT. BOLD TV is not well versed to speak on some of the things he said because he said the NWT is the only bible in the world to have it the way we have it. That’s just naive for him to say.

Actually, the Greek word monogenes comes from the two root words 1) mono, meaning one or only, as in monopoly, monocular, mononucleosis, etc. and 2) genes, which I bet you can figure out, means to father or to bring forth; think of genetics.
Therefore, monogenes literally means only-begotten, or the only one directly fathered by or created by.
Proverbs 8:22-30 tells us that God (Jehovah) created Jesus as the beginning of His way, before anything else. Verse 30 shows that Jesus then worked alongside God as a master worker, helping create everything else.
1 Corinthians 8:6 explains “there is actually to us one God, from whom all things are and we for Him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and we through him.”
Life comes from Jehovah God, and through Jesus, he created everything else. Since Jesus was the only being directly created by God, he is the firstborn and only-begotten.

actually I disagree! I'm currently in college and every semester some people come to campus with the threatening signs about hellfire- I have had in depth conversations with them over why what they do is not helpful to the kingdom and have disputed theology with them.
@@ilovepiedoyou2 they should focus more on what the kingdom of God will bring rather than threatening people, what witnesses do they mainly preach about God's kingdom.
They actually do! But it’s of course not the majority of convos. There are college ministries that are training students up in evangelism and apologetics & engaging their campus. My husband and I are on staff with one of these ministries. :) Universities are one of the best places to engage in spiritual conversations.

Since being baptized in the Holy Spirit a couple years ago it is in my heart to talk to him. He is coming home in August and I feel I am supposed to share my experience with him. If one was to record a conversation against another's consent and repeatedly interrupt that person because he (Preston) knows that he is secretly recording; how then is he obeying Jesus when Jesus says "All things.. you want men to do to you, you also must do to them"? Here is how the Bible proves that Jesus is not God:
1) Jesus worshiped God and says that his God is the Father in John 20:17. So how can God have a God? That of course isn't logical, God does not have a God but here Jesus says plainly that his God is his Father. Jesus also says he has brothers and we know God does not have brothers.
2) Jesus teaches that his God created him. In John 6:57 his says that the reason he is alive is because of his Father, "I live because of the Father". Couple this with that fact that he is "begotten" of his God (John 3:16) means plainly that at one point he was non existent until God Begot him just like at one point we all were non existent till our parents begot us, also (Col 1:15).
3) God's name Jehovah identifies the person who is the "ONLY true God" (John 17:3). If you simply put God's personal name Jehovah back in the scriptures where God himself had it inscribed by his prophets, then all confusion about who God is would dissipate. If you wrote a book and hired publishers to print and translate your book, but they kept repeatedly altering it by removing the name of its main character, would you not find other publishers? You would use even the lowest and unimpressive if they would keep true to your book. Well Jehovah God has done somthing similar. John 1:1 therefore translates the verse not only to common sense but also with insight of God's personal name Jehovah YHWH.
4) the Trinity concept originated from pagans and the occult. Pagans still worship triune gods. the trinity doctrine is pagan. It worships 3 different persons as God. That's pagan my friend.

5. Then why does (Rev. 3:14) Say that Jesus was the beginning of the Creation by God?
6. Then why is he subject to god like we are subject to him? (1st Cor. 15:27,28); (Eph. 1:17)
7. Then why does (Micah 5:2) say that Jesus Origin was from Early times?
8. Then why does Jesus not know what God knows? (Matthew 24:36,) (Rev. 1:1); (Luke 8:45)
9. Then why is Jesus still subject to (god) when he is as high as he will ever be? (1st Cor. 15:27,28)
10. Then why does (Proverbs 8:22-31) show that the Messiah was created/Produced by God?
11. Then why is he not powerful enough to subject things to himself? (1st Cor. 15:27); (Eph. 1:17,22)

It is sad you feel like this scripture supports a triune God. This scripture is talking about Jesus being elevated to a higher position in Gods kingdom. Lets look back a bit to the actual beginning of this scripture , here in 1:1 he is telling us that God spoke to their ancestors through MEN , which elevated these men to Prophets , then he explained that in these days he spoke through his son, He identifies in the next few verses that the son existed with the creator at the very beginning Then the following verses that you say case closed show what happen AFTER his sacrifice , it actually says in verse 3,4 When he cleansed us from our sin, he sat down at the right hand off the majestic GOD in heaven (notice this only happen after he went back to heaven) This shows the Son if far greater than the angels (this shows he was elevated to that position) just as the name GOD (The father) gave him is greater than theirs,. These verses clearly shows us that Jesus was elevated to this high position above the Angels , he did not always have that position.

Look further into verse 9 where is clearly states that he was ELEVATED to that place of honour this indicates clearly he did not hold this position prior to that.

The more I’ve talked to JW’S the more I come to realize that only by the power of YHVH can they be reached. Well crafted arguments alone can’t do it. I told one recently that without The Indwelling of The Holy Spirit they can’t be saved, they don’t belong to Him, and they can’t enter into The Kingdom. He told me that he’s not entitled or eligible to receive The Holy Spirit. So when I showed him the verse and had him read it he clumsily explained it away. To him it was more about protecting the watchtower teaching and not losing the argument than it was about where he stood with YHVH and what His Word says. Over the years the watchtower has been more effective at hiding their past doctrinal errors from its members, and coming up with ways to defend them. They’re under the spell of the power of darkness and only YHVH can set them free.
I think k together with prayer and seeds being planted,Holy Spirit can make those seeds grow..

I think that is a complete misrepresentation of what Preston is doing. I think that it appears that way only because Preston is trying to point them to the truth of scripture, which would point out the flaws of JW theology. When one is pointed out to be wrong, the one witnessing to those who are wrong can easily be seen as an aggressor when that’s not actually the case.
** sighs ** if we are being sincere, this is not about the person being used, but the word of God. I'll rather hear the truth from a person who is screaming than a lie from a person who is calm. The person isn't the concern if we are really focused on what matters, it's the word.
There's a lot of wrong teachings in the JW asides their view on who Jesus is, but who you understand 'the word made flesh' to be is VERY IMPORTANT in the gospel. I've never heard a JW preach the actual gospel when they go out to evangelize. I read their tracts when I was a child and as interesting as it is, I never read the gospel in it. JW have been taught to bring people into their organization, not reconcile men back to God through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Read the Bible to understand what the gospel is, and then you'll realize why JW doctrine is inaccurate.
God loves mankind, and his salvation plan for man is through his son, Jesus Christ. No one can come to the father any other way. Don't take my word for it, read the Bible sincerely, without bias and you'll find it out.
I know how hard it is to step back from a loving community and truly look for the truth. I was in a loving community that taught a lot of false teachings, it was hard to accept that we were wrong. I even tried to understand how a people can be so loving and sincere and be so wrong. The truth is the truth, doesn't matter if the lie looks nice.

I love watching these videos Preston. I’ve always been too afraid to actually converse about the Bible with JW because I felt inadequate in my knowledge of it. I live in an area with many JW and grew up with them knocking on my door. But, today was the very first time that I didn’t ignore the knock, or just politely accept their literature. I said “hold on, let me go grab my Bible” and the Lord guided the entire conversation. At one point the gentleman asked me to read the commentary on a certain scripture and it actually was directed to JWs or really any other doctrine that states Jesus is not God. I read it out loud and they were speechless. You inspired me to open the conversation with them and God did the rest...thank you for sharing your boldness with others and us on UA-cam.

Matthew 16:16 tells us Jesus is the son of the living God. If Jesus was God, when he asked his disciples who they thought he was, why didn’t he correct them and say, no, I am God, not just God’s son?
Revelation 3:14 tells us Jesus was the beginning of creation by God.
Ephesians 1:3 “…the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 11:3 … head of Christ is God.
Many other scriptures show that Jesus is not God, but God’s son.

It’s interesting that whenever he is proven wrong and shown scriptures to disprove him he just says no I don’t believe it.. like when God calls Jesus God he just denies it and says no that’s not what he meant..

I was born and raised in the Jehovah's witness organization. This man who was at this cart is pretty knowlegable however he wasn't answering your inquiries. They are trained to get around the questions. Omg. You were spot on.

I second that emotion" all of use guys go along even when you don't agree or have questions. A worthy goal. But the truth from the Bible must come first, and then you will have a sound basis to defend.

I appreciate how gracious and knowledgeable Anton is, though inaccurate. Only extensive knowledge on boths sides and a willingness to argue could produce such a great moment of discourse. This is such a great, teachable moment. I can watch it all day. Excellent work, Preston. 👏🏾

16:28 - _'but about the Son he says, your throne O' God ...;_ - *The Bible reveals;* _'these are the words of the human Psalmist, whereas the son anointed to the throne is identified as having a GOD above Him(v9)'_
19:22 - _'why does Thomas call Jesus GOD'_ - *The Bible reveals;* _'Thomas identified Jesus as His Lord who was sent and resurrected by GOD'_ - 1 Cor 8.6
30:50 - _'it means something completely different;_ - *The Bible reveals;* _'that the title of the Word used to identify the only begotten Son of GOD is a personification of GOD's spoken will and commandment.
Therefore and as the title of the word is both GOD's literal commandment(spoken out of His mouth), as well as the person of Jesus Christ, the conclusion is that the word that was GOD, represents the authority carried by the Son carrying out GOD's will and commandment in Creation
And finally and on the matter of salvation, it is not religions that saves us, but our faith and belief in Jesus Christ sent by GOD to save us. And so, if a person puts faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ, then we do not need to pray for them, as they are already saved.

How was Anton flawed? Preston is the one who has cling to the false trinity doctrine which is not a biblical teaching. It is well documented that it came about hundreds of years after the first century Christians had died and was influenced by Greek philosophies, pagan gods and decided by political decree.
