Twice a week (before trash pickup day), I go "shopping" at the "Dumpster Emporium" at our huge apartment complex. Since 2014, it amazes me what I have found in, by, and on the way to the dumpsters. On occasion I find artworks. But usually I find vacuum cleaners, pedestal fans, small appliances, frying pans, etc. 90%+ of the stuff I give away to friends or the Goodwill as this kind of stuff does not sell well. But I hate needless landfill. About 60 items I have in my condo are keepers, including a Riccar vacuum, Dirt Devil 3 in 1 stick vac, my dining room table and cloth, two "Keter" shelves, two table lamps, two floor lamps, two "Vornado" fans (actually "air circulators"), two pedestal fans (for ventilation against Covid), a Lasko ceramic space heater, numerous t-shirts, numerous shoes, on and on. A year or so back, I picked up a Bacarrat crystal decanter (the "Harmonie" pattern) at a thrift store for $5; it was in perfect condition, except lacking the stopper. So I stalked Bacarrat stoppers on ebay, and presently managed to get the matching one for a reasonable amount.
