I was in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ACCOUNT PROFILE, but switched so that I could comment on this video. Often times social media (youtube included) recommends channels that you neither understand why you received the recommendation, NOR did you care for (or outright HATED) the recommendation. This was such a pleasant exception. Rachael is beautiful and can SING!!! But, as a musician myself, I had to turn my focus BACK onto Vilray. He softly and gently MURDERED that guitar. He was a reminder of how so many great performers can go relatively unnoticed. They are both WORLD CLASS talents. John Ventura stated it well in his comment by terming their performance "magic". I will definitely be looking for more from these two!
The story goes that Rachel saw Vilray playing jazz guitar in some club, and she later approached him and said she wanted in. I get the vocal resemblance to Amy Winehouse, but the first voice that popped into my mind when I heard her was Peggy Lee. Together, Rachel and Vilray remind me a little of Les Paul & Mary Ford. Such comparisons are really only good for trying to describe the sound to friends who haven’t heard them yet. Their sound is all their own.
Aside from the great musicianship, here's what I like: No fancy lights, no "fancy" screen shots, just a straight on view of the performers. Producers/directors take note: 3K+ likes!!!! Should tell you something!
I encountered this video by chance, I thought, oh yes yet another mediocre UA-cam video. But then they started, what a great voice and style she has, and how good the guitarist is. I'm hooked ! I love how Vilray comps after he gets lost playing the solo. Brilliant !
I was talking to a woman I knew several years ago who told me she had never seen Casablanca either because she "didn't like war movies." I think a lot of women haven't watched it because they think it's going to be a war film. Then when they finally do see it they quickly realize it's a total chick flick.
No sir, not a chick flick at all. It’s actually a great mans film…when guys were guys and women were women. A great film portrayed by a great actor and great supporting cast.
Nah, I think she was just special - It's been described & advertised as a romantic drama, mostly focussing on the relationship between Bogart & Bacall, for eighty years! 😅
The amount of talent in these two folks is earth shaking! And they are very nice people too.
Wow that crowd sounds SO PRO. They were indeed ready! So great how the two entertainers got that crowd going!

The magic that happens when two extraordinary musicians get together.
That's more than professional - or just more talent that any one ought having - Rachel has just that talent - damn she's good .
What a wonderful voice. And my God, is she ever beautiful.
….very very beautiful indeed..where is this place ?..lol
She can put more in a bar than most a song. She's up there with the best!
Love her voice. Man, she's got some serious vocal talent. Sort of like Amy Winehouse without the insanity and being dead.
that cracked me up!
Yeah, being dead kinda kills everything, lol
So funny
Best comment EVER!
Yeah! I tot she sounds like amy winehouse too!!!!!
What a VOICE! She's found the groove that her voice just flows in....what a perfect style and voice combo! Love it.
SHE'S READY ALLLLRIIGGGHHTT.......... BOTH OF YOU ARE EXCELLENT....THANKS FOR THE SMILES

Great guitar playing and an angel, singing at the helm. Great combo!
I love this young ladies voice...wow! Good guitar work too!
She's the definition of absolutely fuggin gorgeous
Both of them are super charming and super talented!
Happy New Year to one of the greatest trumpet players and his friends!
Been a fan of Rachel and LSD for quite some time...she always sounds incredible!
Brilliant comping on guitar!!!
She has a great voice. Dude has the tele under control too.
Thumbs up for you.
This is awesome to see Rachael sing stuff like this, since she used to only do jazz stuff
A woman Extraordinaire, there she is. I love her for sure.
Living in culture-starved South Africa I was unaware of these guys. Great stuff, love the feel, also made me look at Lake Street Dive.
Ive never seen Casablanca either. But I'm definitely going to watch it now. Right now. Fantastic song. You guys are outstanding!
You gotta watch it. It is low-key classic Hollywood. I think you will find it worth your time.
Excellent guitar. I've never heard of him before. And Rachel? Has she ever sung better? WOW!
man she is hot, and such an amazing talent . Absolutley adore her ❤🩹
How much fun was that! First time I saw them was recently on the LSSC. Great talent channeling the roots of jazz and more.
So Nice. Cheers 🇨🇦

Excellent performance from both of them. Love how much he gets out of that Tele.
Yes indeed. Not the typically mellow jazzy instrument of choice, but he nails it.
Sometimes guys can get great jazz tones out of a Tele or Les Paul!
Wowwwww loving her amazeeeeeeeen
Magnificent pair.
That was Excellent!
Years ago I saw a double jazz show, Rachael Price here and her combo performing jazz standards, and then TS Monk with his band. Great time.
Thank God for fast forward!
WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY WOMAN!
very nice !!! TY!
Beautiful voice!!!!
I wasn't expecting that voice. Great job!
Wow, what a great rendition that was! Thanks for sharing.
Wow !! They are great !!!!~
Absolute quality ! Love this .
I'm sure many will agree with me, that camera angle is perfect! It's really easy to identify the chords and their voicings!
And her .....brest toooo!
@@giuseppemangiarini9994 Oh, I hadn't noticed... I was too busy studying the chords...
@@ParaBellum2024 None of those chords are on any of my guitars. Great right hand also, hats off.
That was fun! So natural! 😎
Outstanding !
Wow Rachel looks better every time I see her … and she can belt a tune
Really nice to listen to and look at
Sounds great.😀
Great 👍👍🙂🎸🎸Greetings from Olympus Guitars.
Hendricks, Lambert and Ross all over the place. WOW
I want to watch her dance
As a NPR reoccurring contributor, I vote for more of my hometown woman performing. H’ville rules
Wtf. Wow. What a guitarist and what a voice
That's Entertainment! Thanks for the vid...
Wow, reminds me of Tuck and Patti!
Great voice and player
Outstanding
Love it!
Andy Richter is so much more talented than I knew.
Two great talents!
Rachel Price is mesmerizing.
I would love to see her and the band in a small venue like this but I think I waited too long.
Killed it.
Film Noir is a movie genre that for me takes priority over contemporary films. That said, Rachel is a fantastic singer.
Wow . excellent .😇
...OH~!...I found my new "Back to Black"~!
Holy cow what a woman! Yowza!!
She's awesome.
Really great…
Love her voice.....
It's impossible to watch her and hear her and not fall in love with her.
Arnold! I thought I told you to turn off those UA-cam videos and do your homework!
I'm ready - O'boy I'm ready...
That guitar player!
What a voice!
The "Drifter " loves this!!
wau love that :-)
Racheal has such an incredible voice... she should sing more of those 40's songs, like the ones from Bogart and Becall movies.
“We switched places”.
Yanks: Woohoo, yay, yeah, great, applause, wahaaaay! 🙌”
Brits: “And...?😐”
Cultural differences are great, aren’t they? 😂
