Staple’s High School in Westport CT hosted some of the biggest bands in history back in the 60’s. Cream, the Doors, the Yardbirds and the Rascals to name a few. Might be worth investigating
Lots of bands came through Buffalo in the 1960s and 1970s. Some played on the campus of the University at Buffalo (now SUNYAB) and Buffalo State. Any body who lived in Buffalo then also remember "Harvey and Corky Present" some of the best bands of that era.
In the late 60s and early 70s the small college town I live in has about 20,000 people and some of the biggest bands in the world played on the campus. It probably didn't hurt that the town was the number 1 party town in the nation at the time
Didn't the Vandals show turn into a riot? I am sure it was at the Backdoor, they had then and a Hip-Hop group n the ticket. I saw the English Beat at Montezuma Hall, a unknown band called The Bangles opened up for them. One of the better concerts I saw was The Waterboys at the Backdoor. I was not a fan but after the show I was. Aztec bowl had tons of shows as well.
Hadn't heard that about the Vandals show, but certainly possible. I know some of the shows were more than a bit rowdy. We did a video about Aztec Bowl a while back, check it out.
My rugby club in college did roadie gigs for bands coming to U of N. Dakota, so we'd sometimes get to hang with the bands before the show- including some young dudes nobody'd heard of who opened for RATT- tossed a football around with some guy named Jon Bon Jovi. 😂 Those guys who opened rocked a hell of a lot harder than the main event!
Absolutely killer video!!! Thanks again for sharing the knowledge of shows past. They definitely need to documented. I could never get enough of any RAMONES related. Also, awesome Batman cartoon!!

The infamous Harvey Weinstein is part of the Harvey and Corky
I saw Dickey Betts at Montezuma Hall. He played both Allman Brother's and solo numbers. It was a great place to see a concert.
I agree, saw lots of shows there. Miss the place. Thanks for watching!

Should've been in Philly in the 80's. Also had the pleasure of seeing bands at CBGB's in NYC and City Gardens in Trenton.
Jealous about CBGB's and City Gardens. Never got to either place.
