You know where the paper is. Of course you know. Why is he so adamant that you don't?
(This is a cliché. Such a cliché. But then I had the idea and I wanted to write something else but this one sounded fun. Indulge me this once? And listen with headphones if you don't mind. Helps with the claustrophobic feeling probably. Or maybe not, but it's binaural so...yeah it's up to you. But I'll know if you don't use headphones. I'll know.
Also I edited my outro down by around eight minutes! I talk too much. But somewhere in what I cut, I asked about what kinds of characters you feel I perform best in. I'd like to do more of those! The way he's so effortlessly funny. Also the voiceing is so good. I love his voice.
I really like the energy between him and the Rookie.
You can easily understand both sides. It must have been bad at first.
If a semi-workaholic perfectionist suddenly has a newcomer commenting and fine tuning his work, of course he would snap at them. And coming from a toxic workplace the Rookie would probably still be extra sensitive about such behaviour and take it more serious than needed. They both get slotted into roles neither one chose or intended to be in.
When the lights go out and the Rookie notices how claustrophobic and scared he is, it’s like a crack in a wall between them. A sign of weakness, humanity.
They keep teasing him so he would get angry and forget to be afraid. Maybe he understands what they are doing and sees the kindness behind the teasing words.
It’s easy to talk in the dark. They change their opinions of each other, turn from caricature to a fully fledged human in each others mind.
The rivalry is still there but it has a lighter playful note.

Ok now that I've actually ended to listen i have to say that it was so cute and funny and the part where he starts to panic like I can literally see him pacing though the room and when they start flirting I LOVED it, it was so cute and again funny and yeah it might be a cliché but the way that you played it was 100000000000/10

Its so refreshing to have an office rivalry rp not just become a smut fest 5 minutes in! We got to talk and actually work out our issues, and the claustrophobia really helped to start off the vulnerable talk which sounds insensitive but I appreciated the opportunity to offer comfort.

i love every single character that you put out and this one especially just made me melt. i'm genuinely terrible at comforting people with words and am more in tune with physical affection - so letting the speaker hold my hand would probably be my first move - as it was in the audio. i would love a sequel - no pressure tanuki - but this was incredibly enjoyable. i can see this being a particularly popular scene in a new office-based kdrama or something.
i love your baristas and shop owners - you remember the one from *latte* leaf, of course - i even wrote the name of that special cafe on the side of my bed on my mural with a little hand drawn design i made for the company.
the flirting here felt natural and soft - not too much, a sweet balance of gentle and coy. i'd love to go on a date with him. out of curiosity, do you have a name for him?

Revisiting Tanuki's videos to go on a binge quest is so fun! I love his voice and the stories in his videos, even the simpler ones, honestly. Also, the tidbits with brief commentary at the end are sometimes my favourite parts of the whole video (learning about the effort it took to make it and Tanuki's thoughts about it is pretty cool)
Cliches work for a reason. They’re classic and work well. Loved it as always 💜

Aight long(ish) paragraph time! I'm not one for being competitive in the workplace, cause I get pretty drained in situations like that, both emotionally and mentally. But the way you've started to create this character is pretty good! Later realizing that you don't know much of your character happens at times 😂 happens to me most of the times, I'd usually go for the plot first then the character themselves. But it's pretty common, at least you have more time to polish em up in the next video 👀 if there's a next part? 👀 hehe
I don't have headphones btw cause I prefer earphones, and most headphones either are too huge for me or too tight.... idk either I'm not well-versed with using em, but ANYWAYS! Point is, I did sense multiple layers in some parts, that was really good.
Haiku was *chef's kiss* so well constructed! And about the characters.... I'm the type to be quite attached to any character who's like, their emotions come through to how they speak, and you nailed that so many times already in your audios. The ones having your character speak like they're holding themselves from crying is, for me, one of the best, cause listener me would really want to hug them despite only just existing in audios, and writer me just squeals in delight at that scenes. lol. Can't say that I have a preference, but any good story is pretty much good for me, and this is def one of them ✨ again thank you for the audio Tanukii! ✨
@Ymara Alathea Oh oh I include earphones when I say headphones!! I just mean something better than phone speakers hehe. Unless that’s all you’ve got, then I don’t mind. Headphones can be tiring after a while, I agree.
Also yes, having worked shifts with unnecessarily competitive coworkers? It gets so old so fast. But it’s fun when you can be friendly competitive. I think this guy would be tough to work with so it’s good he only exist on my channel. You bring up a good point, I should try a plot-first approach!
Usually I start with an idea of how I feel like a character should act and then I write a little scenario for them to react to kinda. The limitations of this format are still fun to work with. Mm and yeah, I feel like I do the almost-crying characters best funnily enough. I like listening to those kinds of audios and they’re so fun to play. Nice to hear your thoughts on it.

I haven't listened to all the audios, but I can really relate to something you (or the characters your played) said in the audios that I have finished listening. I love how it is always so different with you even if it is the same old troupes. Even though I know the general direction of the cliche you make it so different it is always enjoyable listening to you. ahhh my heart still skips a beat every time i see one of your videos come up in my subscriptions, excellent video as always! I didn't get the vibe that you're "bad" at playing this type of character at all, if anything I think the way you let this play out was more realistic than a lot of other videos I've seen. The character wasn't so aggressive that the confession feels like whiplash, it genuinely felt like your character was trying and failing to keep up the snarky facade rather than completely switching to a different personality when their secret comes out.
as for the question in the description, I don't think I can really say that any one character type that you've written so far are better or worse than the others. I think everything you've put out is excellent, and that as long as you feel comfortable acting as a character it should come out well. I've heard audios where the VA obviously wasn't really fully comfortable with the role they wanted to play, and it's always a little jarring. I know that answer doesn't really help at all, but I can genuinely say that I've enjoyed every single video you've uploaded.
I hope you're doing well and aren't making a habit of pulling long hours to finish what you're working on (although I can't talk, I'm writing this at 2 in the morning lol). I'm not gonna complain about another Tanuki upload, but make sure to take care of yourself!
