@@ElectricStarshipArcade I miss that place... I remember when it had that big shooting gallery under the stairs. Spent a lot of time there, and Tornado Terry's back then.
@@CoryB_1980 I talk about the big shooting gallery pirate ship and that underground Tilt at least once a week at the Starship. I saw so many games for the first time there.
Excellent! Love the interactive movie type games. It really is great to see the game on the floor. I wish the most success for your arcade and UA-cam channel!
I’m amazed the LaserDisc player on this arcade machine holds up still. I got 4 Pioneer LaserDisc players at home with 450 movies. I gotta see this game in person when my wife and I come back to ESA. Just mega cool to see.
Now having see the game play I actually remember playing this back in the day. Half the fun is see all the ways the hero dies. Something us kids couldn't afford back in the day, but now you can at ESA free play arcade! Woot!
I played so much with this arcade. I used to work at an arcade distributer in early 2000 and I sold one on the internet to a brit guy. I remember it cost alsmot 2000$ of shipping from Quebec to England. I loved that game so much back in the early 90’s. Still fun if not for too long. The hologram is as good as what we see now in VR. To increase the illusion, we re-created the 3D shapes in styrofoam and painted them with fluorescent paint.
This thing was at the Family Fun Center in Prince George, BC and West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, AB; i thought it was one of the coolest things there but it was so expensive to play. But it stayed with me in the head all these years.
Eventually, I will tell you about the day I threw into a garbage container 6 brand new Laser Disc players in the box at work (arcade distributer). I did not want to, I was forced to. I still regret it to this day. I want to cry.
Sweet! My friend was going to buy one but he got cold feet last second because of a few issues. Price was up there a bit. If I had the room Id grab one.
I used to play Time Traveler a few times at a golf place near me when I was younger. I never really got very far but it was kinda neat to see the technology. It seemed like a cross between a laserdisc game and a hologram.

I remember playing this at Aladdin’s castle in oak ridge mall in San Jose ca. this was a childhood memory that was so cool to see one and play one in person when it came out
I managed a Tilt out here in California from 1992-97 , we had Time traveler , the base board area chipped almost always on these things from people feet and etc hitting it.The diagnostic menu is fun on this game, I cant recall which characters talked to you but they were part of it when changing settings. We had at the time spare blocks, i think one was taken off by someone and we had got a new set through the company so we had spares of some of them laying around in the back room.i had to repair all our machines , and also did kits ,changing out games in cabinets, had to do pretty much all the maintenance on them. Watching your videos is partly fun but also at times ptsd, (jk) lol
That’s awesome. I love hearing great arcade stories. I worked at the Tilt in Six Flags Mall in 1997, I remember getting Tekken 3 and Mortal Kombat 4 when I was there.
@@ElectricStarshipArcade When I started it was soon after the original MK came out and SF Champ Ed., we had both a blue and a red cabinet for that one. I was there when MKII came out in which we had two of them, and both had their motherboards stolen out of them which was quite a feat. But i was there when Tekken came out, Virtual Fighter, Area 51, Primal Rage, Pinballs Like Bram Stokers Dracula, Twilight Zone, Lethal Weapon, just to name a few..
I remember playing this when it first came out. I would to play the part where there is a hostage or person you’re supposed to save I think? But I the actors Death was hilarious and after that I couldn’t stop doing it 😅
There use to be a game i loved playing where you followed on-screen instructions to move left, right, jump, attack extra if you could memorize it better and further youd get anyone know its name.
I thought I saw this in the background of your mk1 video, and sure enough, it was, this is super nice find.if u can find it it's usually not working, especially the disc players I always wanted to own this I think I played it once as a kid..
I don't understand why there were never more of these game types especially modern technology being so much better one would think yet all we get in arcades are prize machines these days
Bro @ 4:03 That's a TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME ..... that is Holosseum (which I've never seen IRL, only references online) but I remember Time Traveler when I was a kid and there were only 3 or 4 blocks... I think just a triangle, rectangle and sphere.... but don't quote me on that..... lol it was FOR SURE not the Holosseum setup tho
I do remember one of the characters walking out from behind one of the blocks (or at least I expected that to happen) but I feel like some of the blocks where in the middle of the play area, not ALL around the edge.... but I do remember seeing one or two of those spaces around the edge with no blocks in them and a spot of glue.. like they came off and were glued onto the play area..... and if you did put on in the play area it would appear like they came out from behind the block - depending on where it is.... so the only machine that I ever got to see (and only played like twice because it cost a whole dollar, but the other actually GOOD games were only $0.50 at the time, so I learned not to waste my money on a game that honestly SUCKED compared to everything else - no offence lol ) was on the Jersey boardwalk that I only was able to play during the summer MUST have had its blocks knocked/broken/pulled off and placed on the play field where I think a woman walked onto the play field from behind on of them..... Or maybe not.... I can't remember really :)
okay WOW was I wrong!! lmao after seeing some game play I know where I got the idea of someone coming out from behind one of the shapes - it was that guy coming out from behind the barrell in 1872 lol WOW memory is a STRANGE THING... especially after 30 years :) ... Now I was move to Texas even more!!!! :D
There use to be a game i loved playing where you followed on-screen instructions to move left, right, jump, attack extra if you could memorize it better and further youd get anyone know its name.
Very cool! The first time I saw this machine was at The Tilt in the Northeast Mall... used to love hanging out there in the 90s.
That’s exactly where I saw it.

I remember this well from my arcade. Truly ahead of it’s time!🤩👍
i remember this arround 1990 thanks for share
Amazing!
Awww man! I was just there! Now I gotta come back!
great video showing this from all sides.

I've only ever seen this once at an Aladdin's Castle back around 92'. I was 15 and it blew my mind.
Man, I remember playing this game many times at Aladdin’s Castle. Nice find.
Can you imagine how cancelled this game would be today?
This game seems to be appearing all over the place of late. Do remember playing this in Blackpool, England a few years ago.
Greetings. splendid ! I'll be back!Electric~ 👌

That cowboy sure didnt hesitate to murder everybody in his way.

This game was $2 a play in my Aladdin’s castle arcade. Beautiful cab
I played this at Silicon Alley in Ottawa at the same time that Dragon's Lair came out, so more like late 80s.

Nice, I have never seen or knew about it. Very kool.

I remember that game. It was Expensive To play But it was fun.
I never got a chance, plus all the adults/teenagers were always crowded around it.
Since it's laserdisc, would it also work with Dragon's Layer and Space Ace games?
Well I’m sure it will spin the disc, but the pcb interface I imagine is a bit different different.
Dope asf
I always wanted to play this as a kid but it was $4 a play and that was nearly half of my arcade money.
I don't understand why there were never more of these game types especially modern technology being so much better one would think yet all we get in arcades are prize machines these days
That’s not a bad point. If done correctly it could be really neat with modern technology.
I played this at Aladdin’s castle
I played this in an arcade in Manchester, England back in the 90s. I remember being mesmerised by it.
I was stunned when I first saw it as well. I kept waving my hand over the glass trying to figure out where the image was coming from.
I sold one to a brit guy in 2003. Shipped it from Quebec, cost almost 2000$. Probably sold the machine for 500$.
@ElectricStarshipArcade amazing what a little ingenuity and imaginative engineering can accomplish.
Cool
Do you guys have the gun for silent to scope
We have Silent Scope on the floor but no extra parts to sell.

Yeah but that game is rare for a reason it sucks

Look into arcade laser disc games. Most of them work similar to what you described
