- We've tested a Toyota Tacoma JBL audio system before, but it's always good to revisit and make sure we're consistent. Yup, the Taco still has a pretty decent sound system.

I have a 2022 TRD sport I ended dumping the “jbl upgraded garbage’ my truck came with. In my opinion it lacks everything I was able to add Audison Voce VK components at front with custom tweeter mounts on the alate mounding of front doors, the dashboard speakers got replaced with the Audison prima 2 inch and I added a 10 inch Audison enclosure
The rear doors I have hertz pro coaxiales all these are powered by a 5 channel kenwood amp, more Audison amps on the way as this has not been budget friendly but now I enjoy listening to music while driving my tacoma
The fact the driver was only holding a phone in front of them explain why they drove so slowly on the entrance ramp. This sound system isn’t bad at all but I was expecting more from this though!
At least it’s only one phone
From a Tacoma owner with the “premium” JBL system, yes it is bad and they could have done a far better job for the price you pay for a pro or premium package
Toyotas are made as cheaply as possible
To be honest the bass sounded better than the audi you posted the other day at least through youtube.
That audi was a joke lmao
A lot of people put down JBL but they made that system to Toyota's price spec. 30 years ago the T06 and T-61's were awesome with Nakamichi Sp-40's and ADS PH-15 and an Alpine 7905.
I think the quickest way to improve a sound system is to stop listening to bad music.. 😁👍🤪
Maybe you could have a bloopers section at the end of the video for all the bad drivers and what not that normally gets cut out.
its ok not the best, but for those that want better you need to rip it out, keeping the stick HU helps, but overall no one makes a perfect solution to retain all the options on the factory HU.
That truck was about to slam into the back of the dodge mini van lol.

I have a 2022 with CarPlay so not sure what you are referring to. Mines a limited so that may have something to do with it?
I just got a 2022 with premium sound and Nav $1500 extra and I dont see or hear a sub behind the seat.

The best thing to upgrade the sound system is to add dynamat sound deading to the doors.

That's expensive for a C! Mine is the stock system and it sucks. So I'm putting in a Kenwood KDC-x305, JBL Stadium 62cf and 32S in front, Polk coaxial in rear and two 8"s which I haven't decided on yet!? The KDC-x305 has 3 sets of pre-outs and the Subwoofer pre-outs are full range- left right channels so you could put in nice 8" behind back seat. I have a 2023 TRD Off Road. KDC will mount in glove box, I need the CD! lol
I just purchased a 2022 Tacoma Sport with the Premium JBL sound package. It sounds amazing but I'm having an issue i'm hoping you can help me with. When using CarPlay, Siri's voice when speaking and reading back text messages, any voice calls, and my map navigation are only coming though the front drivers side speaker instead of all speakers. It also will not let me adjust the volume no matter what i've tried. i've reset the head unit back to factory settings, re-added my phone to the system, re-enabled CarPlay, etc and nothing will fix it. Do you have any remedy at all?? I am using an iPhone 13 Pro Max that is up to date and using a wired connection with an authentic Apple Lightning cable. Is this how it operates on all Tacomas? Only the one speaker for voice? Literally anything else works fine and sounds amazing.
That’s really strange :/ I’m not sure how to help with that one unfortunately. Might be time for a dealer trip!
I have the same issue on my 23 limited
It’s a known issue..Toyota dealer did not resolve my issue…my 21 JBL has issues with losing audio power prolly cuz the amp stashed behind the back seat and a panel heat soaks…
That steering...every lifted truck I have every driven is like this (I know this truck is stock but just saying). I don't know why people would purposely do that to their vehicle lmfao.
I have a 2022 Limited with the JBL system and I'm not getting anywhere near the bass this is putting out, quite frankly it sounds horrible.
My trd sport 21 had android auto lol
So barely any bass even turned up. Looks like im going to have to reolace all of it lol

Tacoma jbl system has no balls. My 06 camry jbl system is louder. Very disappointing by toyota.
