  • Lumen enables indirect lighting to adapt on the fly to changes to direct lighting or geometry-for example, changing the sun’s angle with the time of day or opening an exterior door.
    In this tutorial, learn to use Lumen to render gorgeous stills and videos with close to path-traced quality, but in a fraction of the time.

    It seems with TM there is always something that is not yet supported or reuqires more fine tuning where others like D5 have complete features with somple interface..

    No idea how to sync my Substance library or import .sbsar files. Clicking the Substance link in TM just brings me to the website. I download the .sbsar file and it doesn’t appear in TM. That’s fine, but there is no way or import .sbsar files by themselves. Are we missing something?

    • @gretheconnerth
      @gretheconnerth 8 місяців тому

      Correct, it's a bit cumbersome to get the materials into TM.
      Download, save to your computer, then import.
      Also, the Adobe 3D substance subscription only lets you download 30 to 50 materials per month, depending on your subscription, which I find limiting.

    For those who have purchased the update, can you help with the following. I've purchased the update myself and have spent the last few hours troubleshooting some major issues.
    First off, compared to other versions, it seems as though the program is not using my GPU for hardware acceleration. 4k Lumen renders force the program to crash stating that there's not enough memory. I have a RTX 3090 and 64GB of system memory. Path tracer renders work fine.
    I opened up 2023.1.2 for a comparison and everything is running stable. I just rendered off an 8k high quality interior image in 2 minutes and 9 seconds.
    I've looked at the Twinmotion settings and don't see anything that can help.
    At this point, I can only conclude that the 2023.2 release is unstable and in my case unusable when using Lumen.
    Everything looks great in the viewport, but exporting is the issue. If anyone has similar issues, please let me know.

    • @Mr.LeoNov
      @Mr.LeoNov 8 місяців тому +2

      I highly recommend switching to DX11 when using Lumen, it may help and it also boosts your viewport fps and lowers GPU usage by half when doing so, but the only downsight being is that reflections could look weird in mirrors, but as said in the video, Lumen is not suited for them
      I've also had some render issues with Lumen when it gave me some ugly anti-aliasing and weird ambient occlusion but I concluded that high GPU usage might be the case. Like, if render takes too much time then usual (like for me it's usually 5-10 minutes in 4k scene, but when it renders for 30 minutes straight I know that this render will be broken). The only thing I can suggest is just starting the render again or restart Twinmotion

    if you look at the ceiling in the other room its shimmering as if its under water. All my models look like this with lumen, they do not look right or real at all. I gave up with it. I know he addresses it, but the only solution is an overly bright scene.

      @@lalalalala568 And here you go again with your negativity, being disrespectful and utterly rude.
      Same as in other tutorials with your comments. I now have reported your messages on the UA-cam platform.
      It says more about your lack of skills.
      If you don’t find the capacity to understand then simply leave this channel. Unlucky for you there are only a few really great ones out there such as his.
      Therefore please take a beat and reconsider when you voice against other nations, especially as beautiful as the French.
      If you were to listen closely you would notice that Martin has a very broad and educated english vocabulary, which is much better than most none-native english speaking people have. So yes, his english is excellent!
      Having a french accent is not getting in the way of his clear pronunciation at all.
      It is to note that he is the Technical Marketing Specialist at Twinmotion and is in this position for a reason.
