Somebody needs to write a book about Courtney’s brain. She’s working on a higher level.
Agreed!!
Definitely a powerful visual thinker. Her mental image of finish line elation is a very effective source of motivation.
When she does write her book it’ll be an instant best seller. 😀
That is an incredible tri-fecta
Oh yeah!!! For sure
1st (like she will be :)
hahahaha yes!!
Absolutely love her!! I hope she wins UTMB and gets the triple!! She is so inspirational!!
Amen!
Great interview ( probably the best I've heard ) of an extraordinary athlete/person.
I have the proud stat that Courtney finished 50 hours ahead of me in a race!! (Moab 240) I mean come on!! When I was still stumbling around in the mountains on the Thursday and Friday Courtney was feet up and chilling - ha ha!!
We'v all been humbled by Courtney..great story here..I've had a similar experience
Was that Cocodona?
Hey dang u did it!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
She never fails to be positive and uplifting! I love her. So pumped to see how well she does!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Amen!
She is such a great role model for any athlete.
Only a brave person would bet against her winning UTMB and the triple crown. GOAT
GOAT!!!!
Courtney is the best! Now I'm looking so forward to UTMB! Jim and Courtney at the top of the podium would be so awesome!!
I'd love to see that
Courtney for the treble! I cannot wait for UTMB now!
Me too!
What a champion.
Amen
She is an absolute legend!
And we get to watch her in real time! We are living through some fascinating history!
She’s got this in the bag!
It will be very interesting to watch!
Great interview Finn! So pumped that Courtney is running UTMB. Can't wait to follow her journey again!
Us too! Thanks for watching
love her attitude and approach! She keeps using the Pain Cave as this metaphor - but I'd really like her to describe mentally what that means - what does she actually "do" mentally with / in the Pain Cave? Is the cave just a metaphor to being in pain but not letting mental negativity enter? But how/what does she do? Mentally keep chanting a mantra? Mentally keep actively re-directing her brain from negative thought and replace with a positive thought? I'd love to get practically deeper into what she means.
I think we discussed that precisely! The pain cave is where she accepts negative thoughts and converts them into positive thoughts. It's like an assembly line for optimizing in the moment attitude about her circumstances.
Yes perhaps! ;) - it is always just a little too theoretical for me and I'd like to ask her a bunch of those types of questions and confirm. Maybe she wouldn't say though - like with her training :) - anyway - thanks for yet another great conversation, I am super excited to see what she and Tom do at UTMB. @@runsingletrack
There's a really good interview by Rich Roll about other aspects of the pain cave. Finn did find some new details here. But yes I'm wondering what the mantras are specifically too.
Just amazing what you can take, from these hugely talented athletes like court, to our challenges in life. I have been so inspired to watch her season runs this year. Your talents Courtney are pervasive and touch individuals like myself in more ways then you know. Keep chiseling keep being great keep being you!!!!
Amen! Well said
Good luck Courtney 🎉go n smash it girl❤
Thanks for watching too!
i dream to see her in the top 3 scratch (and first feminine ofc). RUN Courtney RUN :)
I could see her overall podiuming at UTMB..certainly in a year where she was truly fresh
@@runsingletrack we would have probably said that also after western state and she still managed to finish 4th overall if i'm not wrong. and it was 3 weeks after. she got moths of recovery for the UTMB so who knows :) but ur probably right anyway. it's a bold move to enlist utmb this year
Love Courtney!!!(Already applying”Why not?”to upcoming goals).Love her mindset, optimism & just the incredible runner & person she is.Always fun to follow what she’s up to! Can’t wait for UTMB!!!
Why Not? Yeah Courtney
Thank you so much for watching!
Ohhhh I just love her!!! Also, the way the interviewer looked at her with just interest, admiration, awe and respect! I wonder if you would ask very specific nutrition strategies she has found to be helpful next interview? I know everyone's different & u hv to learn ur own body but Courtney has mentioned having "Plan A, B C D E F [dissolves into laughter]" but I'm interested in the specifics. Great interview! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks and thank you so much for watching!

Great interview!
Thank you!
Great interview but how many sponsors breaks in 16 min?
We tried to keep it under 3 minutes total..I will combine them in the next episodes for less interruptions.
He gets pennies on the ads, so it's a small price to pay.
"Why not?" That's my new mantra!
Right?! Gosh, I'm starting to think the same for me too..at least in some areas
