I’ve got this problem too. One of my front windows will not close properly. Cannot get anyone out to fix it. Will have to try and work it out for myself. Monday 13th March 2023. U.K. 🇬🇧 Southampton
This is a downstairs window easier to access. My bedroom window is not closing because the metal strip under the handle is catching on the window frame . Have to lift handle up to fully close . it didnt show you doing the aligning of hinges . No companies seem to want to do these little jobs
I had Windows that were like this once. I then realised it wouldn't close because one of the bracket hinges that swings the window open/closed had collapsed.
my window is upstairs and its so hard to see the screws on the outside :c what do I do i need the window closed im scared to have windows open at night i live alone
Does anyone knows how I can center the window in the pvc frame? On my last hand side I see the outside light as there is 2 milimiter offset. I tried to change the seal to cover and playing with those aside screws but I can't fix it. Please help.
You do it pretty much the same as this video. But you may need to change the position of the keeps because you are repositioning the sash. Good tip would be to draw a horizontal line across the window hinge to the profile, so if you mess it up you can just reset the window to its original position, then get someone to come look at it for you. It's a simple job so anyone you know with experience of hanging would do it for nothing. If you call out a fitter you should shop around for prices if you think you are being taken for a ride.
Nice vid, the middle set of screws on my runners are in a regular circular hole, ie not elongated, what can I do to raise them or should I remove them?
Those are lock-in screws. They are used to secure the hinge in place after you adjust the window sash (opening part). Remove the lock-in screws completely, then adjust your window sash, re-tighten the adjustable screws, check the window opens and closes, always check that the window is securely closing, then replace your lock-in screws.
@@mojothedeadman you have to make new screw holes for the lock screws...becasue they are no longer over the hole when you move the sash up.. if they were still aligned after moving the sash up.... THEN YOU HAVENT MOVED IT UP.
Don't leave the screws loose your window will drop out and kill someone, just move the hinge up a bit and make sure you fix the screws back securely.
I am watching this video and see this comment after 5 years get me laughing 😂
Exactly my problem. Thank you for the fix 🙏🏼👌🏾
I tried this and after a few days the window fell out and smashed. Thanks!
Didn't do a great job of it then buddy

Shoot bolts keeps are the best at security but they are easier to catch.

Breaking wind at 1:27
My window does this it fucking pisses me off
Just twat it with a hammer haha
Mine still doesn’t close
This is gonna be hard for upstairs bathroom with letterbox opening at top of window, without ladders. Hmmmm
You would remove the opening from the frame, bring it inside, adjust the hinge and then refit to the frame. It’s much easier with two people
take glass off first then take plastic frame off and adjust it then glass back on. Easier n safer for u
@markpearce5349 can I remove the opening on a top hung as well ?

@@runthomas 10 years of fabrication here mate, i know, whats your point
@@runthomas and genius, the lock in hole is on the hinge, not the profile, so what you on about?
My mom is really angry do you know any other way
I think this is the only easy way to fix.
