    At Superbooth 20HE, the young company Yaeltex from Argentina presented the Miniblock 2, a new website that lets you easily design your dream MIDI controller. The idea is simple: the customer virtually assembles his controller as he needs it, Yaeltex than builds it for you in three weeks and sends it to your home

    I had the opportunity to test these controllers and are amazingly well constructed, the quality of components is excelent

    Thanks for the interview, Tom! We would love to know from everyone, what do you think a custom controller MUST include?

    • @Yaeltex
      @Yaeltex 4 роки тому +1

      Lot's of great ideas!
      Some of them are already included: MIDI CC, RPN, NRPN
      We already have some of them on the future feature list: Screens, OSC, SYSEX, Randomizer, Ribbon touch strips, more banks. no flash-drive please :P
      Thanks for sharing!

      How much could cost the red controller version? I would need a platform similar to that but very basic knobs encoders and faders.

    Love this idea - especially that you can custom screen print any labels you want which solves me main issue with many midi controllers. I wonder if OLED strips could be added above each row of the 32 LED encoder controls to dynamically display what is being controlled or perhaps something like a Hydyasynth type screen and controller layout. Would that be too complicated / expensive? I'd like to design the Ultimate Virtual Synth controller!

    • @synthanatomy
      @synthanatomy  4 роки тому +2

      no display at this point according to the developer but later (some years) they consider it

      @@synthanatomy Thanks for finding out. I don't think it's essential for what I'm trying to achieve anyway. I'll have a look into costs and try and work out a design. What I'm imagining is something like a Soundforce SF-2 but more with LED ring encoders so every time you change to a different instance or preset the LEDs show you the positions of the controls. Also perhaps some more encoders for each section for plugins that have more parameters or using the bank functions with a dual label on each control.

    These are great. I'd like to see more of the way the controllers can be configured in software. Can the pads work as MIDI notes? Could these be used as sequencers?

    • @synthanatomy
      @synthanatomy  4 роки тому +2

      the software you saw in the video is made to design/build your MIDI controller not to configure it on the software level. It's a MIDI controller not a MIDI sequencer or so. Should work because these are only MIDI messages.

    • @Yaeltex
      @Yaeltex 4 роки тому +2

      Hey! The software lets you configure pads as notes, CC, NRPN, program change, bank shifters, and more. To use rubber pad buttons as a sequencer, we think that the first approach can be max for live devices in Ableton Live. We are looking forward to developing these integrations.

    Only one thing I need to know can I have a very large knob for midi to filter cc. Like a 4 inch wide knob

    • @Yaeltex

    • @Yaeltex
      @Yaeltex 3 роки тому +1

      Hey Jojo! Sorry for the delay. The smaller buttons can be set to send many different midi message types such as notes, CC, program change, NRPN and even Keystrokes and key combinations. They are not velocity sensitive. Let us know if you have any other doubts

      hey, the website is already online yaeltex.com/en/ but the new version 2 controllers are in beta. I recorded the video at the end of April so it's probably in June when everybody can design MIDI controllers. You can join the beta phase if you are interested in one of these controllers :) yaeltex.com/v2
