    They're great bikes, and for those of us who aren't too bothered about the latest electronic aids, bling etc. Cbf1000 can be your first / last and only bike.

    Hi Mark,
    I had a CBF600 for a year then traded it for one of these CBF-F models. The 1000 is a far superior machine.... I commute daily on it with light touring. Have done 30,000km on it in 20 months, it's easy on service parts & very reliable. Had a hot starting issue which I solved by holding the throttle fully open while the fuel pump cycled. Bike has now done 68,000km. Will be holding onto it for a while I think 👍
    All the best....

    Just put a deposit down on one of these and it's difficult to find anyone that has anything bad to say about these bikes, which I find encouraging as this will be my first big bike...can't wait and thanks for the review it was very helpful confirming my own mind- great vid !

    One of the few bikes where I prefer the sound of the stock cans. I like the sound of the engine: turbine-like whine without the box-of-spanners rattle of most online motors. Induction roar still cuts through when opened up.

    Regarding Pan Euro ...I had one back in 2001 . ST11000 . I never grew to love it . Felt like being on back of an elephant. ..I imagine! I was working ridiculous hours back then so it could of been me not giving it a chance . I was a zombie on my first day off . The good old days - raising three kids . Lol .

    Bought a mint 06 3 months ago.... what a machine that blade engine is sublime.... the handling and brakes aren't the best but can be improved massively with £400/500. I can't see the money in new bikes and haven't for a long time so spending a couple of grand on a litre class bike in mint condition makes a lot of sense these days. It's got everything I need and nothing I don't' an often overlooked bike but never underrated they are fantastic realible and deceptively quick bikes

    Currently own CBF 600 and I will be honest I forgot all about the CBF 1000. I love the twin exhausts and the hydraulic clutch which the 600 does not have. Was going to get VFR 750 next but this video has changed my mind...

      Are you comparing with 600 Hornet ? What about engine power, do you feel it's enough in compare to Hornet ?

      Ideal time to get those carbs fitted! In the end I got myself a Kawasaki ZRX1200 S (thumbnail image) absolutely love my Rex

      Thanks it has a hell of a lot of torque its an extremely easy bike to ride looks big but is really nimble. The carb set up on ZRX (Rex) is so good almost hard to tell apart from injection very smooth and precise

    Bought one of these three years ago. It is the most agreeable bike I have ever had. When I get on it, we both agree that the other needs to lose some weight. Apart from that I love it. For no reason whatsoever, I would like a bit more power. Does it need more? It goes from 0 to illegal in a very short time, and first gear is a bit of a handfull when going for it. More power would make first gear even harder to control, and second gear a licence loser. Makes no sense to have any more power than that. Would still like another 30 bhp though. Changed my mind, 40 bhp more.

    Hi Mark . Watched this video before buying a CBF 1000 A7 ABS. THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP! mine is a bit unstable on slow corners. As I put on more steering lock it wants to go all the way . I checked it over it all seems in serviceable condition and took it to a reputable bike mechanic. He found no faults. Does yours feel like it will throw you off on tight steering or is it just me ! Thanks again for video

    • @Bytoruk
      @Bytoruk  3 роки тому

      Hi MY , That’s surprising as I never felt that the CBF was unstable on a corner . I know it’s an obvious one but have you checked the wear on your tyres ? It’s a bit of a beast the CBF and if you have stepped up from something smaller and lighter then it might just be a case of getting used to the weight . I’m still getting used to the pan European st1300 as the weight is an issue. I wish I’d kept my CBF ( thankfully the wife doesn’t read these messages lol ) .

    Nice review I have a 2012 prestine 600 model i notice some 20hp down on the 1000 but very tractable it pulls smoothly at 60km/h in 6th gear and just accelerates from there without any hickups, it also had a very irritating vibration through the seat at 4000/5000 rpm which gives 120 km/h our legal speed limit in rsa. I remied the problem in a big way by inserting rubber washers with a steel washer behind, on the side bolts of the seat frame , and forced some rubber stips in between the main frame and seat frame, it is now a different bike at cruising speed.
    Regards from rsa

    Ive the 600 and the buzz in the seat is a bit bothersome over 4-5000 revs especially under engine braking. Its worst at 60-70mph in 6th. Drives me nuts. Sound up to 55mph. What speed are the vibes at the worst on thecbf1000?

    • @Bytoruk
      @Bytoruk  6 років тому

      I suppose at high revs there is some feedback but generally I don't notice anything. It seems to deal with everything asked of it without fuss. It will go from 30 in 6 th to " lose your licence and go to jail " very quickly and smoothly , or so I'm told ;-)

    • @MrDickBills
      @MrDickBills 6 років тому

      Had a 600 and changed to the 1000. The 1000 is probably no smoother, but you will have to be going hell for leather to worry about vibration. It is good at 70 in 6th. I try to keep my licence and will do 70 in 6th for miles. It seems ok. Also, if you open the throttle at 70 in 6th gear, the 600 will go faster, the 1000 will lunge forward with real intent.

    The only thing would concern me is it doesn't have traction control, a gear indicator would be good too, suppose we are spoiled now with newer bikes, not sure if the newer model cbf1000 has these things, great review though, well done.

    • @analnikolik6407
      @analnikolik6407 5 років тому +8

      Traction control :D Your right hand is traction controller :D Gear indicators are for pussies, I had one additionally installed by previous owner and removed it as it was annoying me. You don't worry which gear is on as long as you have enough power and torque :D And if it is not the case, you change the gear ;)
