Fixed Ipad Air 2 LCD with inverted colors, white static, shadows. Hit it but replacing LCD fixed it.

Long story short,.. I had a broken ipad air 2 which would display the colors all wrong. The colors looked like they were inverted. When I used the camera app, and looked at anything dark or black, it appeared as white static dots. Sometimes, it did appear as green colored.
So as you may have checked.. plenty of people have made suggestions on this:
inverted colors, green colors, snowy or static background. Blacks are all messed up.
1. Hit the back of the ipad. No luck!
2. Updated the Ipad. Factory Reset the Ipad. Itunes firmware restore. No Luck.
3. Replaced Battery. No luck
4. Reseated the LCD connection to ipad mainboard. (multiple times. no luck)
5. Tested screenshot, video, camera, and screen recording. When images/video transfered to a different computer. It looked just fine.
6. What was left? Replace the LCD.
Yep,.. it was hard securing a decent LCD replacement since for the ipad air 2, the LCD costs around $100 new. They don't sell used ones, but on ebay you can find parts ipads. This is what I did. I found a parts ipad for $80 and purchased that (so I wouldn't have to deal with moving over parts like the home button).
Long story short.. I replaced the LCD.. and it fixed my inverted colors, white static, and shadows on the broken LCD.
I did test the broken LCD on a different Ipad.. and the problem showed up their.. suggesting the LCD was indeed broken.

Thank you, this is driving me crazy. I think I’ll take it into the Apple store and let them fix it. So it looks like you’re saying that you replaced the screen and that fix the issue? I have tried everything else that I could think of and watched a bunch of UA-cam videos which brought me to you. Thank you so much for your advice.

I was in the same situation as you. From what I have read. Out of warranty screen repair service may cost you $329 to $500 for repair.
Hopefully your still under 1 year warranty or have additional insurance like apple + care.
Good luck. This happens to alot of different people. If you've tried hitting it or factory resetting/updating your ipad... It's probably a hardware failure of some sort.
Apple sells refurbished ipads 32gb for like 250-275. New ones go on sale for 250-300.

Buying a used ipad is abit tricky. Since you don't want to buy something too old... because:
1: Battery is old (might die)
2. You don't know what it's been through.. so something could fail soon.
I know.. each person has their own preferences. My own is the following:
A. Buy the lowest new model of ipad $300 new (1yr warranty + new battery):

B. Buy from a retail seller of an official apple refurbished product (something with a warranty from 3m to a year):

C. If you're buying used.. try to buy something that's 1-2 generations old.. You could buy something older.. but I suggest something newer since the battery can go bad on older ipads.
*** when purchasing used (if you end up doing person to person). Please remember to check that the icloud account has been removed from the ipad. Noone ever does this.. and they end up buying a possibly stolen ipad that CAN'T be used.

in the end, did replacing the display help solve the problem?
Replacing the lcd fixed the inverted colors, shadows, and white static colors for blacks.
I actually put the broken lcd onto a different iPad. The lcd was still displaying the bad colors. So I’m my case. It was a bad lcd display on my iPad Air 2.

Basically.. the screen is glued onto the back of the ipad...
Use battery to empty and turn off ipad
1. heat with a hot air gun or use a heating pad to loosen the glue
2. Use a suction cup and some wedge tools to slowly displace the screen from the glue.
3. Open the lcd from one side and flip over
4. Unscrew the metal cover for the lcd/digitizer connectors.
5. Remove the connectors as well as connector for home button.
6. You will need to transfer over the home button and it's own cable.
7. Take new LCD and attach the old home button to the screen.
8. Reverse steps to put back the new LCD.
It's not easy in my opinion. I was lazy and bought a replacement lcd with a home button installed.. but if you don't transfer the old home button.. you lose fingerprint id.
So if i buy an LCD off of Amazon and replace it on my own it would work right?
Can't promise you it will work.
There are ALOT of LCD issues for ipad's.
It could even be a problem at the connector level.
Although,.. for me it was the LCD... I had to troubleshoot everything else first.. and it was a huge list.
