Its refreshing hearing these topics discussed by young people like myself, makes me happy that there are more of us out there learning about and carrying these invaluable philosophies forward
That critique on digital money and crypto is so on point. In the 'community' they even talk about making a second network using the first to make the little pices of the coin transactable. transacting fractions of the coin, etc. Most other cryptos are centralized and can go kaput one day. the 'original' can't as you described, but they can force any change because of constant updates (we were told that it was good enought and it was 'law' since the beginning) but how can you vote to change that mess of code? or in the consequences of changes? Do everyone now has to have an degree in Cryptanalysis? You explained derivatives so well. I feel I can beat the market now.
A lot of Silicon Valley tech giants (Musk, Thiel, and Andreessen) are libertarian. But libertarianism isn’t popular, so a lot of libertarians are embracing techno-monarchism (look up Curtis Yarvin/Mencius Moldbug). Guenon would call this Counter-Tradition and Spengler would call it Caesarism. Elon Musk in particular with Neuralink and Mars colonization embodies the Faustian spirit. All three of these guys support Trump. Bukele’s El Salvador, Lee Kuan Yew’s Singapore, Pinochet’s Chile and Netanyahu’s Israel are the models.
A major point that Spengler makes is that Cultures are hermetically sealed- one culture does not and cannot influence another culture. Does not the whole idea of the “pseudomorphosis” contradict this?
Presumably he would say that pseudomorphosis produces a parasitic culture, whereas only a healthy culture is hermetically sealed. For example, Imperial Russia was heavily dependent on Western influence beginning with Peter the Great yet was unstable and lagged behind us for over 200 years until exploding into Revolution in 1917. I don't remember where I read this but someone mentioned that the USSR forming a distinctly Orthodox-Oriental-Marxism synthesis was the birth of a "real" auto-dependent, autarkic Russian civilization. The lack of Classical Marxism being applied to any Western country (cultural Marxism is another story) preserved the distinctiveness and uniqueness of "Russian-ness".
@@ericthegreat7805I’d argue Cultural Marxism is actually just Cultural British Utilitarianism. The UK, US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand are way more woke than China, Vietnam, Cuba, Laos, and North Korea 😂
The apostolic church has been there at the beginning of a culture since Christ. When it turns into civilisation it loses the apostolic faith and becomes Protestantism or Islam.
I see things much like he did... although now I see mentioning of him?! But unlike him, I do not complicate things. Some things are very simple to explain, although the confused People can not see clearly and follow "likes or don't likes" instead of what is Real, Truth, and Accurate! how come nobody (of all Philosophers) is able to right the complete and accurate definition of concept "democracy"?! West is a copy of ancient World Oligarchy ... but mis-interpreted the "Democracy" concept to sell its Oligarchy to public as a Fake "democracy" meaning Pseudo-democracy! At least, do not expect the English Monarchy to right the correct definition in their vocabularies! I understand some dead philosophers of 100 years + ago did not manage to understand Life Clearly... but what happened to so many "modern intellectuals"?! Obviously, the investment is done only on Pseudo-intellectuals /Pseudo-intellectualism! Investing Sociopaths manipulate and scare Humans so they do not see the truth and even not look to find any truth but simply copy lies, conspiracies, and half-truth.

What do you guys think of René Guénon's predictions about the modern world compared to Spengler's?

What is meant by the term “vitalism” and was Spengler a “vitalist”?

Surely Globalisation has made Spengler's Philosophy redundant.
Global culture is a myth. We have an American culture that has spread almost globally, but is rapidly declining.
