Heyo, folks! Wasn't really planning on ending my sabbatical so soon, but obviously this is too exciting to pass up! Planning on working on these guides for the next few days, then resume my break. Probably will be back sometime mid-February for regular content! (Also I discovered this morning that my external hard drive with the last five years of UA-cam files died on me, so I have to recover everything. That'll take time.)
I was just thinking it was a shame that Cure mode dropped in the middle of your break, I guess I should have known you'd still make a video! Hope you're doing well

Tip: When exploding a red bubble at the beginning, if it leaves green smoke instead of the usual red one, that means it is the origin country. It also does a different sound
@@masternilla6652 You will need to keep your researchers in that country for like 75% of the game which is bad. In my attempt the disease started at a airport and harbor. Just a little side-note. When you hit an infected country for the first time in the early-game, you can tell whether or not it’s the origin country by the noise the popped infection bubble makes: Regular infected countries make the standard ‘buzzing’ noise and release red gas when the red infection bubble is popped, the origin country makes an almost ‘hissing’ noise and release green gas when it’s red infection bubble is popped. Edit: Amended to add the gas visual clues.
@@Agent-Blaze If you allow Bioweapon to spread to numerous countries, it will reach just that. Regarding customizations, you can somewhat do that in Disease X mode.
Some words of advice, in the response tab there are 2 upgrades that I’d consider mandatory, social distancing, and local lockdown, both increase non compliance by quite a bit but they reduce infections so much it’s crazy, if your field operatives are upgraded to reduce infections when present it will cause the infections in the country they’re in to go down, not just slow down, it will actively drop as infections go negative, it also hugely slows down infections in other countries.
Here is a couple of tips of the cure mode that is good to know. Contact tracing is a government response, when clicking on a country, you can see if they had activate it or not. Each country has 3 levels of starting healthcare levels determines how much the disease can spread and how lethal it is, there is also 3 levels of effectiveness when using contact tracing as well. It is possible to win by having no more infected. I have won ultra brutal for the bio weapon, by locking down a whole continent where the disease started, and preventing it from spreading. Then I just let everyone either recover from the disease or die. Authority loss from non compliance is temporary, it comes back when people start listening to you. The bio weapon is the hardest one by far IMO, since it get far stronger when spreading to new countries. Report thy neighbor is what happens when you have I think mask wearing and public awareness, it reduces the infections. On the other hand, if you don’t get PPE 1 soon after the start, you will get news that your field operatives are becoming infective and spreading the disease . Good luck with these videos, I am excited to see what you can come up with for each disease.
You’re incredible. I can’t believe it only takes you a few hours to learn how to do a mega brutal run. The one run I managed to do mega brutal on my own took me maybe 4 to 5 months to do. I hope you can stay mentally healthy. Thank you for the video.

Great work Pravus! Your strategy did work well for me. I finished with 130 Authority, in 372 days, 675,000 dead people, a score of 220,000, and 5 bio-hazards.
I really like how you explain WHY you do what you do, since I'd much rather get a push in the direction I should aim for while knowing what it should look like so I can adapt to it myself and tweak where needed, or see if other things work better that are more fun for me, and maybe apply it to other rounds or things too, instead of just getting a step-by-step guide to do it and then just go "... Okay I have done a checklist and now the game says I won for that... Next checklist please" Just like how I like Grian's building video's on Minecraft and how I learn how to draw. It's much more fun to understand what you're doing and sometimes fail, but know WHY you failed and adapt accordingly than just learn what you should do and performing the same trick over and over again without any idea how to do it differently or what you're doing. Also just to be able to understand better what certain initiatives and all do, since some things just seem so similar but do different things, without being too clear about it (to me at least) and it leaves me wondering WHY it goes wrong... Or the world just decides to ignore me and do things and I have no idea if I could have done it better or differently or if the strategy was just doomed from the start. I do assume that brutal strategies usually work on any other difficulty for the same disease type too. Or is that wrong?
as soon as i got the email that the cure was released i came running to your channel and saw a community post that you were taking a break and got a bit sad, but now am not anymore :)

That would a be really awesome example of asymmetric gameplay...I´d be all for it
