In that Troy Driver case, there was some evidence that his girlfriend knew what was going on. There were text exchanges between them about the excavator, and even pictures sent between them of the scene. That lead to some degree of belief that she knew. In fact, she tells a story in another video somewhere, where on their first date he took her somewhere secluded and his intention was to murder her. She picked up on his intentions and turned the tables by confessing to him that she also always wanted to know what it was like to kill someone. He not only didn't kill her, but they started dating. They both shared that desire and both voluntarily watched documentaries on serial killers. It wasn't just him. Also, his family had money. Her family didn't. She moved in all of her children and family onto his estate and home, and them turned on him once he was arrested to try and keep the property for herself. There was even some evidence that she knew he was going to commit suicide in prison, and she suggested he follow through with it, because he promised her he would, if ever caught. Not sure why they didn't prosecute her, but she turned states evidence real quick and had hours of stories ready to tell. Just seemed so convenient that she had dozens of stories to help seal his fate. But somehow never felt in danger herself. Because they were cut from the same cloth, I think.

Saying they found the girl Michael Webb kidnapped that had blood stains on the pillow through "good old fashioned police work" is completely laughable. A tip came in hours before she was rescued saying she was at the hotel but the police officer in that area ignored it until they were forced to search again. It would've saved hours and she may never had gone through that trauma. That police officer was later fired.
I thought they came the first time and she was hidden in a laundry basket when they searched the rooms. The second time they were tipped off about him specifically and found her. At least that’s what it said online.

It always astounds me how brave children are in comparison to their simpering, bawling captors. All the children here are so incredibly stoic -what the 18 year old fatal victim went through must have been unbearable...monsters like these should never be released, let the inmates take care of them.
As a victim of this I can tell you its not stoicism. Its fight, flight, freeze, fawn reaction. You may feel calm even detached at the time but it catches up to you. Please don't confuse this as a child COPING WELL. Not being mean but people make this mistake far too often, saying OH kids are so resilient and cope. Nah its just a delayed reaction. Sometimes it can take years or decades ( depending on how it's handled) to manifest. Especially in repeated abuse. It's a survival mechanism.
Honestly, these cases are just a bonus reason why I'm never having kids. Cause if I had one and anybody ever looked at them funny, they'd be looking funny at everything for the rest of their lives. And I wouldn't wanna my child to have their mom in jail so... The count just don't add up.
@@cassiusclay7362 oh, I didn't mean I >could< fight anybody off. I'm sorry if it sounded like that. I meant that I would give up my life for any child really, but especially if I had one of my own. And I would do my best to avenge any wrong doing towards them. I'm very impulsive so I wouldn't ever think about the consequences before reacting to something so bad happening to someone I love. Which is kinda messed up cause I never stand up for myself (and I've been victim of literal crimes - mostly sexual) but I have gotten screwed up a few times because I fought or attempted to fight someone off because they were disrespecting people I love/loved at the time. I get completely animalistic. Nowadays I TRY to fight off verbally first. But not so long ago (I'm 26, so I'd say up until I was 22yo) I would straight up go to physical aggression. Most of the times I lost the fight and didn't end up getting worse because other people interfered. For example, in a manifestation of the Med Students of my Uni we "closed" 2 of the 3 lanes of a street and one man decided to honk his horn instead of passing to the available lane (like everyone else was doing) and I confronted him verbally (screaming), the other students just gave him way, but I stood there, I beat and kicked his car and when he left the car to beat me we were both dragged apart before touching by everyone else around. He could've shot me. But that didn't come to my mind. I didn't care. Because he was being disrespectful even when the other cars gave him space to cross lanes, even when we backed a little to give him MORE space. He just didn't want to do that because he wanted things his way. Guess I wanted things my way as well so... I'm not saying I'm right or a saint or strong. I'm saying I lose my mind very easily when I'm in such situations. And this wasn't even about someone I loved but about a cause I'm passionate about. I am Borderline and generally I will act irrationally in some occasions. I'm not "normal" nor "Rambo", I'm straight up insane.
The little 8 year old girl made me cry. Her tiny voice being so brave just broke me. 😭😭😭 My heart hurts for that baby girl! I pray God will give her the strength to heal completely from that ordeal! I pray she has a full recovery physically & mentally. That man looked absolutely terrifying!!
There should be a RULE at ALL hotels and motels, any adult entering with a minor needs to present their photo ID and the child’s birth certificate. Because then as soon as they arrive to check in, the hotel staff can call police immediately to ensure nothing is wrong.
Ah, good, so now people can just stop going to hotels and motels where there are cameras and people present in favor of places where there’ll be less evidence. Genius.
Who travels with their child's birth certificate? A large city like Chicago would be calling the police literally ten of thousands times a day about hotel checks lol
@@samjohnson7869 I’m not referring to a family coming to town on a summer vacation. I’m talking about in scenarios that are abnormal - a single adult showing up to a seedy motel/hotel with a minor. They have rules in place that the person paying must present valid photo ID, what does it hurt to require a form of ID for the child? Only a close relative would have such an important document, that’s the point. They wouldn’t be calling every single time a family showed up with kids. They would obviously be looking for particular situations. Usually if you’re with a minor you’re not supposed to be with and get even a little pushback, you’re going to try and leave. At this point, police could be alerted.

It’s a state of shock. They know something is wrong but they have no idea what their captor’s intentions are with them.

I Love the officer eho said " can we cover her UP? GOD BLESS THEM ALL BUT ESPECIALLY GOD BLESS HIM !
He probably has daughters, and was thinking like a protective dad.
"Front Office, I need to come in for a second!"
(5 seconds later)
"Sheriff's Office, back up." lol
😂back up”
true crime doesnt usually bother me but as a father to three children under 11 this has me tearing up with pure rage.
Me and my friend was so close to being kidnapped today (she is 13 and I’m 14), we were walking around on a cricket field (we were alone) and this truck was following us, we were rlly scared but stayed calm, then we started walking faster the and truck kept following us, he got out of the car and started walking towards us, then I yelled to my friend “race ya” so we started sprinting to my boy bsf’s house (he lived down the street), when we got to his house I knocked on the door and we were screaming to let us in, when his mum opened to door we ran inside and told his mum and him what happened, and while me and my friend was looking out the window we saw the man’s truck parked on the street, so we called the police and turned out he had kidnapped a 8 yr old girl last year.
Thank god, you got away. To many people ignore cars or people following cause they are on the phone and stuff. Also great to call the cops ❤
@@Ivy89261 it was rlly scary, I’m rlly glad my boy bsf was home to, or idk what we would have done
Kid stupidity couldn’t bring adult with you and in the middle of the night thought 13 year olds and up were smarter than that
