- Here's a brief, SPOILER-FREE review for ROBOT DREAMS (2023), a nominee for Best Animated Feature. It's a touching, bittersweet tale, reminiscent of films like The Umbrellas of Cherbourg or La La Land in the sense it examines our ability to find fulfillment, even if not as we may have expected. #oscars #robotdreams #animation #moviereview
ERMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!! there is a single scene with dialougue!!! a kid went "yay!"
Haha excuse me, you are correct. I think the dog mutters something at one point too. Or someone did, somewhere.
@@MondayMatinee the dog during the sledding scene yelled "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" and in other scene went "pmhg"
@@JohnWeas Yeah, that’s it! 😂 😂
Haven't seen the movie yet. Just a question based on the trailer. I noticed you said the word "friendship". I noticed in the trailer there fast cuts of the two face-to-face very closely and also a cut of them playing handsies. Is there hints that this may be more of a romantic type of relationship? Doesn't matter either way but was just curious. I'm excited to see this movie (whenever it releases in the NA, that is).
At first it gave me that impression as well, but in the end I think it was more about friendship or companionship. When they’re face to face, it’s probably when the robot is stuck at the beach and dog has to leave him.
Looks like it’s getting a May 31 release date. Taking a while.
Like you said simple animation. Gotta be honest though, I gotta have dialogue in my movies. This definitely will have its niche audience.
Yeah, I didn't realize it until a little into it that the characters hadn't spoken yet, but still pretty captivating. Comparing this to The Boy and the Heron is a difficult task for the academy, but gotta say, I felt a lot more by the end of this. (Prob cuz a dog was involved)
This movie destroyed me
Yeah! Not sure I can rewatch it or listen to September anymore! Haha
