Never had a cat in my life, husband either until Nadia found us 4yrs ago. No idea but she would be at my husbands car when he was leaving for work and she would pop up knowing when he came home. He put tuna out because we didn't know where she was "sleeping." About 2wks later my husband says my name as he came in the door.. She left us a dead mouse! 😂I look up and see these ears poked out so I opened the door and said, You want to come... The rest is history.. Got her fixed and chipped so everyone would know who she owns!! 😂😂😂Oh, and she was prego too so had 3 grandkitties.. 2 people who never owned a cat, we got thrown in knee deep!! I love my baby girl!!! Laugh when she falls over to give us her tummy when she wants a treat😂She's a manipulative little Tortie!! ❤

Some 700 km away from home. He was a stray living in a sort of (let's put it like that) cat colony. He saw me the first time and started staring straight into my eyes. A minute later, he was sleeping all curled up against me with his head on my shoe. When I left, he kept following me and meowing like crazy. I visited the rocks where he was living every day for 3 days and he would repeat the exact same thing. Three days later I went back to take him with me in the vacation home. Ten days later we made our way back home - the car drive was a complete nightmare. As you say, the rest is history. Took him five days to domesticate me and a couple of weeks to boss me round! I love him and could not imagine living without my Indi!

My inny and outie cats all "own" me. The innies are in because the outies have the rhino virus. So hard on them. Have an 8 mo old that needs spaying, and am working with vet to get her sinuses cleared up enough to tolerate anesthesia. She is like a clingy two year old, and yowls when I'm in another room, also loves to give nose kisses with lots of whiskers at nite. A-a-agh! Uses them to ask for food, too. Love her dearly.... love all of them. Their grocery bill is twice mine in a month.

I tell people that my cat is the queen of my household ,And I love her dearly. I have had her asy furbaby for 20 years already , and thankfully she is still happy and healthy. She knows the sound of my SUV when I pull into the driveway and then greets me at the door, (like a dog ). When my cat wants to be fed at 3 in the morning, she climbs up on my bed, purring loudly, standing over me. In the dark, and half-asleep, it feels like a small tiger is hanging over me, because she's a tabby cat! If I don't get up and feed her, my neck is going to feel the punishment! Based on a lifetime of experience, I don't really think that cats see us as pets or staff. They're just the interactions they have with other cats they consider friends in a stray cat colony. You're basically just a best-friend two-legged cat. You're just the alpha they befriended. (Unless a cat is SEVERELY mistreated, she ain't gonna challenge a 6ft cat for alpha position.) Just, being alpha of a cat colony means about as much as being a leader of an anarchist commune. Doesn't even mean they have to come when you call. (They'll generally just answer "mreh" = "here I am". If you want to, YOU can come.) But more importantly it just means you protect and take care of the kittens (those two-legged kittens also count:p) and teach them to hunt, and you get some food brought for your effort.
I believe cats can’t be fully domesticated, they keep their wildness just like any animal from the cat family… That’s what makes them so so special and mysterious…
Cats are more loyal than dogs , you can give a dog a steak or some meat and their your best friend , you can give a cat some food or treats , they will take the food but they still won't like you , cats don't " sell out " like dogs do !
