@@ageraau8893 good for you
"Take her to the moon for me, okay?"
"I promise, Bing Bing."
I promised myself I wouldn't cry... Too late! 😭💔
That moment made me cry among three others.
I cry every time!!
This is more of my emotional pain talking than critical view but I still haven’t forgiven Pixar for this.
Thought his name was Bing Bong?
@@yoloyt7093, it is, it must’ve gotten autocorrected
Andy giving his toys to Bonnie was one of the greatest cinematic passing the torch moments ever!
Totally agree. And Woody saying, “So long, Partner.”
And it was the perfect way to end the franchise
Toy Story 4 was so unnecessary
@@codyhiginbotham6616 oh definitely. I saw it once and haven’t watched it again. It added nothing to the franchise (my favorite Pixar franchise) and instead ruined the beautiful ending of TS3. They should’ve just stuck with shorts like Partysaurus Rex, Toy Story of Terror. Toy Story That Time Forgot. Those were perfect, they let us revisit the characters we loved in Bonnie’s room but don’t take away from TS3’s brilliance. TS4 was a waste of time.
@@LadyKC67 Exactly. I loved all the short films they did, and none of them ruined the brilliant ending of TS3
@@codyhiginbotham6616 tell me about it. the shorts & tv specials were awesome but a fourth movie was such a stupid idea & ruined everything. the last shot of 3 was the clouds in the sky & thats the very first shot of the first one. it was the perfect finale. how the hell can bonnie just ditch woody over a damn fork all of a sudden after toy story that time 4got? it didnt make any sense & was totally ooc. she was all over him in that, toy story of terror & the three shorts & then she just pretends she never found him & doesnt even realize or give a shit hes gone at the end. she shouldve been devastated like andy in the first movie & nobody would ever pick a fucking fork over a real toy. buzz said in 3 whatever happened they were all gonna be 2gether then woody said 4 infinity & beyond & thats the way it shouldve been. that lightyear movie looks stupid too. his movie the adventure begins & the show was a kick-ass spinoff already. i was almost six when it came out & had it on vhs. now im 27 & i got it on dvd from amazon at the end of february last year. i just started watching it again last night
When Carl & Ellie couldn’t have kids, I didn’t think anything could be more heartbreaking…and then Ellie died 😥
I don't really watch up !
@@allison3852 I mean... if you're not very emotionally stable, I can't recommend it.
💔💔💔
I wonder if they have children and grandchildren, they could take up their legecy
The Photo album Carried the sadness on
The montage at the beginning of "Up" perfectly captures Carl and Ellie's lives growing old together, without needing any dialogue. That moment where he's left all alone, holding the balloon, makes my heart break, every single time! 💔🎈😭
Bring tears even to this man's hardened heart. I truly believe it's the most touching and heart-wrenching scene in all of cinema.
Just hearing that song gets me misty eyed.
It's an opening sequence I tried to avoid when I don't want to cry
For number 8, when boo opens the door back up and says “kitty”, you can also hear the heartbreak in her voice
For number 4, I’m 22 years old and the part where Riley’s parents embrace her is the part that gets me
Same
I’m actually glad that the UP opening scene is frequently discussed in filmmaking in regards to “telling a story without dialogue”
Agreed! A thousand + one life lessons can be gathered from just the first 20 minutes of Up. "Love the ones who love you because one day they'll be gone", "Make the most of life while you're young & able", "Don't let loss of a loved one lead to overwhelming survivor's guilt that makes you ornery & sullen, they'd only want the best for you and for you to be happy", and the lessons go on and on! "Up" is the perfect name for that movie. 🎈🏠⛅
The moment in UP that gets me, in addition to that amazing montage, is when Carl looks at the scrapbook and finds that Ellie had filled it with photos of their life, then on the last page, she writes, "Thank you for the adventure, now go have a new one"...damn you, Pixar, you really know how to reduce a guy to an emotional puddle 😢😢😢
That's felt even more because we lost Ed Asner this year. Thanks for the adventure.
The saddest part about it is if you look after Ellie dies Carl always wears a bow tie since Ellie always tied all his ties and she’s gone, so he has to wear a bow tie because he never learned how to tie a tie because his wife was so helpful.
My favorite Pixar sad scene is also a hopeful one.
It’s from Soul when Joe comes home after his big gig and he is left unfulfilled of his purpose. He’s earned his spot in a jazz band after years of aspiration, but he’s left feeling empty knowing that it’s as good as it gets to achieve his dreams.
The scene where Joe plays the piano home alone always gets me because his brush with near-death and literal out-of-body experience changed his perception of life and purpose. As he was playing and making beautiful music, (courtesy of a brilliant Oscar-deserving score by Nine Inch Nails duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross as well as Jon Baptiste from the Late Show House Band) Joe realized that music wasn’t his purpose, but life was. His newfound clarity of life was that he is simply living and how much he had an impact on those he loved and vice versa. Your meaning in life is not the destination, but the journey. It’s incredible to understand such a meaning when the ambient piano music moves you as it did for me.
That's why Pixar is great: They're never afraid to deal with real life traumas in their otherwise fun and colorful movies.
But pixar became worse in 2023 and 2024
Because they actually respect their audience. Too much children's media is too soft and light, which just isn't realistic. Darker, more somber moments like the ones here are what keep these stories grounded and much more relatable.
@@Mr.ZubberInside out 2 was pretty good though
@@D_LGND I didn't even knew about inside out 2 when I wrote this
There are 3 moments from Luca that stand out for me: when Luca betrayed Alberto, when Alberto told Luca about his dad leaving and when Luca and Alberto share a goodbye hug before Luca leaves for school.
Same! The absolute heartbreak in Alberto’s eyes when Luca betrayed him breaks me, and the ending, I can’t even listen to the soundtrack without breaking down!
Same
All three of those scenes made me tear up
When Luca betrays Alberto is still replaying through my mind
Do not think I am the movie Luka because I am a U.S. villan
Sully saying goodbye to Boo, Bing Bong’s sacrifice, and Andy saying goodbye to his toys are without a doubt the most brutality heartbreaking Pixar scenes 💔😭
*brutal
I know my reasoning is very personal, but that scene from Brave is top five for me. When the movie came out I watched it and liked it well enough but couldn't really relate. Fast forward a few years. I lost my mom to breast cancer and miss her every day. Now the apology is like a knife in my heart.
Oh goodness I bet, Rebecca... If I could just say... As a mother myself, I know first hand the way we moms have a God given way of knowing our kids hearts. I'd be willing to bet big bucks that your mom knew every inch of your heart. I am so sorry for your loss dear, sending you big ((HUGS)).
Sheesh! Every number was a painful reminder! Pixar knew how to keep the trauma coming
Curse Pixar's ability to make us cry.
I'm with you on that man.
I know everybody hates The Good Dinosaur, but, that scene where they tell each other how the lost their families ALWAYS gets me 😭😭😭
I didn't hate that movie
Pixar is just the best at emotional moments. 💯
Indeed, they're not afraid to go too dark, since they know that children understand these dark themes and topics.
And the kings of animation
"Up" is such an amazing movie , a lot of feelings watching this movie , either happy or sad
13:23 couldn't have children or lost children?
Corals death in Finding Nemo really devastated me as a child. It still brings back so much nostalgia ❤️❤️❤️
“You NEVER Forget Kids Like…., Emily OR….Andy. But THEY Forget YOU.”
- Jessie (Joan Cusack), 1999 Franchise Present-
andy never 4got woody, her or any of them not even when he was 17 & was upset when he donated them
I’ve watched Inside Out so many times now. Every time I know it’s coming, but it still gets me. “Take her to the moon for me, okay?” 😭😭😭
My top 10:
10) Broken wall-e (wall-e)
9) Woody says goodbye(Toy story 4)
8) Sully say goodbye to boo (monsters inc)
7) Barley speaks his dad (onward)
6) Andy give his toys to Bonnie (Toy story 3)
5)Hector talks about his daughter (coco)
4) Jessie and Emily (Toy story 2)
3) Bing bong dies (Inside out)
2) the barracuda attack (finding Nemo)
1) Ellie’s death (up)
Ellies death😢😢
Lightning McQueen’s Crash in Cars 3 because I wore a red Nike shirt with a lot of black streaks that represented that part of the movie when I saw it on the theatrical release date of Friday, June 16th 2017.😮
Damn You Pixar! I sobbed on all these scenes. Especially when Jessie described Emily in toy story 2, forget it. It was a big sobbing deal! And Sarah McLachlan singing “when she loved me”. I lost it.
Coco always has a place in my heart. I’m Mexican and I was overjoyed when I saw a filmed about my culture. It makes me so happy that it spread the holiday of Día de los muertos and now many more people can celebrate this tradition.
For me it’s the very end of Coco when mama Coco is reunited with her papa in the land of the dead as an old lady. Also, when Hector finally crosses the bridge for the first time (bonus points: with his family) UGH gets me every time 😭
As a person with a short term memory loss based disability, I LOVED Finding Dory. ❤️❤️❤️
Mama coco scene always makes me cry just as much as the first montage of up.
The final scene for Luca should’ve been at least an honorable mention. I sob every time I watch it, without fail.
I liked the "Merida apologizes to her mother" moment. Happy wednsday and happy christmas Eve ms mojo. See You soon for more.
A sad moment in _Cars_ was the “Our Town” segment. However, leave it Doc Hudson to call in McQueen’s departure. As someone who doesn’t like _Toy Story_ that much, I only wish that franchise had ended with the crew’s destruction.
That’s a sad one bro cos some of it actually is true, towns and communities were erased because of the decommissioning of Route 66
As a child, I cried when boo didn’t see sully. That ending was sad but as a adult the movie that got me in total tears in Coco when Miguel sung remember me to mama coco, it was so touching and sad
If Wall-E losing his memories made the list I think Merida's mother fully becoming a bear and losing *her* memories should have as well, instead of being an honorable mention.
Yeah, those two should have been switched. I agree.
Personally, I’m more of a Wall-E guy. It takes the cake for the only movie to make me cry, but I get where you’re coming from.
So I wouldn’t say one or the other go in the honourable mentions list. Maybe both in the actual list 🤔
Coral's death, Sulley and Boo says goodbye, Doc Hudson's passing, Bing Bong's sacrifice, Andy gives his Toys to Bonnie.
I thought the end of Onward would be much higher!
Pixar are the BEST at making a lot of people cry with their emotional scenes in their movies!!! 😭😢
Could you do a top 10 saddest DreamWorks moments ever list too?
The saddest part is when Disney put Soul and Luca on Disney+ rather than theaters, so I couldn’t tear up at those moments as they couldn’t leave any real emotional impact.
I think Luca was in theaters for some time... I might be mistaken.
@@RealSirMikay Both Soul and Luca only showed in theaters in select countries, including China. Not in the USA though, but to be fair, both movies were shown at the El Capitan Theatre down in LA.
Also the Lava short! They just know how to get you in the feels
"Bring tissues"
Man I wish I knew that when I first saw it in theaters alot of it hits way too close to home for me to keep a stoic face
Let's be honest, all of us saw #1 coming from a mile away.
What about when Bob thought his wife and 2 of 3 kids were blown up by Buddy's minions shooting missiles at them?
👍👍💯💯💯
from the incredibles
At least Pixar movies are kinda life lessons to learn. Also, there’s one I might add, when buzz finds out he’s a toy and tries to fly out of Sid’s window but then fails and loses his arm. Not to mention the song ‘I will go sailing no more’ plays.
Inside Out really hurts my heart so bad😔
Toy Story 3 was such a perfect way to wrap the series (I’m not a fan of the 4th movie at all) I ball my eyes out every time Woody says so long partner to Andy
If was I was even half what is considered normal with all my over dramatic nature, I'd have sobbed at all these moments, but I do recall crying at least 3 times from these options
Just goes to show how while PIXAR’s movies are primarily for kids, they are bond to make anyone love them. Even for me as a now mature 20 year old boy.
i cant think of anything sadder in not just pixar but all movies that's sadder than the up opening
I actually see Coco remembering Hector after Miguel sings Remember Me to her as more of a happiness-inducing scene that elicits tears of joy to the viewers.
Arlo and Spot howling at the moon, Arlo lets Spot go, and Arlo finally making it home. The Good Dinosaur
Hey I just noticed something. Remember when Stinky Pete said “Is Andy really going to take you to college?” And he almost did, so Stinky Pete was almost wrong.
I need to cry today, so this is great!
When Riley tries to leave her new home man that freaking feeling of just giving up and going back to her comfort zone, that for me is still the most sad Pixar movies moment...
Coco was both emotional and wonderful and I love the scene where Mama Coco and Miguel sing remember me together and I also love it when Miguel says to mama Coco “your papa loved you so much”
Alright let's get to the list. I'm emotionally ready for it!!
- 14 minutes and 26 seconds later -
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
How Can An Animated Movie Production Company Be So Good At Making Tears Fall!?
The scene where Andy gives up Woody and the gang is the only scene in Disney or Pixar that made me cry.
Luca spoilers
I’d say Luca turning on Alberto. Especially if you see the movie through the lends of it being a metaphorical movie about coming out
That moment in Coco always makes me tear up every time I watch it.
I'm a 22 year old man and that ending to toy story 3 always makes me cry
It's cool everybody says that number one scene is the saddest, I get the development I get the suffering of the characters, but that scene never made me cry.
I'm glad that Onward make it a least a honorable mention😀😀, the final scene with the movie is super underrated😞😞 the movie needs more attention❤️❤️, anyway i love❤️❤️ all Pixar movies, this list is great Pixar is the master of emotion😀😭😄😭😃😭.
I agree. I love Onward!
Me too, personally is my third favorite Pixar movie after Inside Out and Finding Nemo.
Because when I watched Onward with my older sister in theaters on March 8th 2020, and two months later on May 2020 online with my Mother, that movie made me remember the greatest siblings love that I have with my older sister since I was a little girl.
@@cristinamacabrerapacheco2838 That’s awesome! Onward was the last movie I saw in theaters before the pandemic started.
The first one will always make me cry. So my mom died 3 days before the release of finding Nemo and when I went to go see it I completely lost it because my mom was supposed to have another baby as well. So the whole Coral and the babies getting eaten just reminded me of my mothers and the babies death. May 27,2003. Was when my mom and the baby died.
And I had my dad watch the movie Up for the first time last year. And I was sobbing so hard. (My bro even warned me about the beginning when I wanted to watch it the first time) And he didn’t do anything he just let me go through the course of crying because I have cried in each Pixar film and there’s no stopping me.
Here are a few more honorable mentions:
Radiator Springs got taken off of the map. (Cars)
Doc Hudson’s death (Cars 2)
Sulley’s cheating exposed (Monsters University)
Mike and Sulley say goodbye to Oosma Kappa after getting expelled for the door lab incident (Monsters University)
Luca and Elberto’s goodbye (Luca)
The part when Sully has to say goodbye to Boo makes me cry.
Coco made me cry every single time I watched it. It makes me think if I would remember my family if they died and every time I think about it I start cry waterfalls😢😭😭
As much as that opening scene was a tearjerker, I feel like the scene later on when he goes through the adventure book and sees Thanks for the adventure, now go have a new one, hits even harder. It's bittersweet and healing.
Us: Disney makes some of the most heartwrenching movies ever.
Pixar: Hold my beer.
the scene in the first cars when lightning mcqueen leaves radiator spring was very sad too and definetly deserved to be on that list
I found what bing bong did very sad but also very noble,he knew he was going to be forgotten eventually and he sacrificed himself for Riley and he accepted his fate with dignity.
3:40 two reasons it’s sad
1: it reflects on a parent having their child grow up and forget them
2: boo also likely will forget this making it impossible to see eachother the same way
I just randomly saw this on my recommendations last night and I can tell you I was crying
Hot Take: 🔥🔥🔥
Jesse's Past is the saddest of these moments. Jesse couldn't do anything to help herself from being forgotten, and she just had to sit there until she was ultimately rediscovered, and then she was given away. What makes a Pixar scene sad for me is despair and hopelessness. The fact that the character in whatever scene has to just sit there and let what is happening happen makes it all the more heartbreaking.
The Pixar short, Partly Cloudy about the relationship between a stork and a thunder cloud. Gets me every time
Inside Out gets me every time man
Damn watch mojo. Thanks for making me cry.
When you see a Pixar movie- be prepared to cry. Crying is legit the #1 part of watching a Pixar movie
MsMojo woke up and decided to make us cry
I actually I think the incinerator in toy story 3 was more scary than sad.
It got sad when they realized their fate and accepted it, going out, holding hands. And what really got me was Woody was up front, kind of shielding the toys behind him. He knows he can’t protect them, or save them, but he’s going to get it first before his friends do. It punches me in the gut every time.
True, but to me it was rather fearful and intense. Because they didn’t want to give themselves up in the incinerator they didn’t have a choice. That stupid ungrateful Teddy Bear double crossing them into saving his life and betraying them as payback for kicking him out of the daycare. It may seem particularly bleak but fortunately to the gangs prayers they’re saved just in time thanks to the squeeze toy aliens and their Giant crane while Lotso gets a fate that’s worse than death.
For my personal opinion the number 8 spot should be in the first toy story when abuzz discovers Woody was telling the truth that he is a real toy. With solum Randy Newman performing “I will go sailing no more”. Buzz try’s to fly out the window only to break off his left arm and that he’s grounded in reality.
That scene when andy left on toy story 3 hit hard for me
it was the perfect finale & i still cant believe pixar ruined it with a fourth one
we all feel the pain of this ending
I still remember it today and it was 10 years ago...
Top ten times Pixar movies tackled serious issues
1. Polluted earth (walle)
2. Jealousy (Toy story)
3. Prejudice (Lucas)
4. Abandonment (toy story 2, 3, 4 and incredibles 2)
5. Abduction (finding nemo)
6. Short term memory (finding nemo and dory)
7. Slavery (a bugs life)
8. The afterlife (coco)
9. Losing loved ones (up)
10. Car accident (cars, cars 3)
Would it kill them to make something a little bit happier?
I’m 35 and Bing Bongs death gets me every time 😭
Pixar Up was saddest
Amazing. My saddest moment has to be Lightning McQueen'a crash in Cars 3.
I’m a 23-year-old man. I’m not afraid to admit that Mufasa’s death set off my water works. The Lion King 1994.
Pixar you are to damn good at making us cry
I saw bing bing die in cinemas when it first came out and made me cry my eyes out still never fails to make me well up to this day
Boo and Sully are best moments, i cried every time i see that scene
"Thanks for the adventure. Now go and have a new one!"
Love, Ellie
This video was made 2 years ago, so I'd like to mention the opening sequence in Lightyear, as although it isn't one of Pixar's best, it was a heartfelt moment.
In wall-e I find the garbage disposal scene a lot sadder.. watching him damaged and barely able to speak to eve always brings a tear to me, no joke..
Not so fun fact:
The shining is a R rated movie having only 2 death
Finding Nemo is a G rated movie with 400 classified deaths
oh my
Inside out is such a good movie it makes me cry every single time
The beginning of UP is really sad but that’s one of the best movies out there.
The woody’s gang almost died is emotional
Up is my favorite it sad that he lost his wife very heartbroken
