Agreed! It was always a treat when one of her movies came on tv. Usually though it was the Little Princess but i would watch it anyway with delight lol
Anyone else under 20 years old who loves Shirley Temple’s movies, or just any movies from the 30s and 40s? I’m 17 teen and I watch old movies all the time. I love how calm and funny they are. Not overstimulating like most movies are today.
My Mom and I always loved Shirley Temple movies and would watch them together, up into her 80's. We could relax, knowing the familiar plot phases and the music would do nothing to shock or offend. They still stand for clean hope and peaceful resolution. Our world has forgotten how.
I don't go to the movies these days : are there any family Anne of green gables or is it all fantasy violence smash in face how to win, so pathetic : I'd almost legislate for loving.
Im 33 years old, but i watched shirly temples movie since i was 10ish years old when i grew up in china. She is such a sweet heart! I love her movies so much! Now i have my little girl and i watch shirly temples movies with my baby together.
Shirley Temple was so talented one of a kind who gave pleasure during the depression and made people forget their troubles for awhile probably never be another child star like herself was a rare treasure
agreed 100% watched her every weekend with my grandmother black and white...Love her and each movie along with who she became in realy life brovo to utube for allowing us to share the good old simple days ..
She was very good, yes, and one can argue that no one has yet equaled her, but be careful about making predictions about the future. You don't know that never through all eternity there won't be someone like her or even better; in fact let's hope so! Future generations deserve that!🙂
I love the song," That's What I Want for Christmas". The lyrics have a beautiful and selfless meaning. Shirley sings it with, such warm and enthusiasm! 😍🥰
I just started to watch Sherly Temple movies, I watched two when I was young, and I am going to watch them all, I really love her... so adorable and sweet with a beautiful voice, super acting for a little girl, and I am grateful for all her movies. From Sri Lanka.
I remember watching this movie twice in my childhood, but I only remember a very small bit. After all, that was more than sixty years ago. But I did keep some memories of it, and have wanted to watch it again. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, THANKS for up-loading this precious gem. It was soooo heart-opening to watch. I love the values portrayed in this movie. Just awesome. Lots of love to everyone reading along, from Germany, Astrid Eta Anja
One of my favorites, of Shirley's movies. Love Robert Young and Alice Fay. As a little child I watched a lot of old movies with my parents and grandoarents. Love the good ole classics. 😍
When I was a little Shirley Temple would come on on Sundays in the afternoon so I would take my bath or shower and then watch my Shirley Temple movie. I have watched the movies so many times I could probably say all the lines. These were the best movies ever and I’m glad I lived at the time or I could enjoy them.
I DIDN'T GROW UP WITH SHIRLEY TEMPLE BUT I HAVE WATCHED HER MOVIES NOW AS AN ADULT. SHE WAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE WHAT SHE LOOKED LIKE WITHOUT ALL THOSE CURLS THAT I KNOW SHE HAD TO ENDURE 😢HOURS AND HOURS OF RAG CURLERS. THAT CHILD WAS SO ABUSED AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. 😢😢😢❤
When I was growing up, Shirley Temple was the biggest thing that I wanted to watch on TV. I would make sure I got all my chores done just so they would let me watch the Shirley Temple theater.
Exactly what I was going to say!! How has this movie escaped my love of Shirley Temple’s works for decades!!!! These Shirley Temple movies are truly beautiful, National treasures! These are beautiful stories, well told, positive entertainment!! Thank you soooo much for uploading this!! I will certainly be sharing this one with my young grand children, as I have Miss Temple’s other beautiful works!
Agreed, and to think she had a love for singing, dancing, and acting! Her sunny personality from what I read was really part of her as a person! 🤗💯👍🏾♥️
Agreed, and to think she had a love for singing, dancing, and acting! Her sunny personality from what I read was really part of her as a person! 🤗💯👍🏾♥️
I heard that Shirley Temple in real life was really nice and always in a good mood, that is what her children said, no diva and she truly loved everyone
Very, very few successful, household-word, entertainers act like Divas. Very few. And of those that do, it's often the public response to them that's brings out the Diva.
Just finished watching "The Little Colonel" n loved 😍 it ever so much that when the next movie in line was this one, "The Stowaway", also with Shirley Temple and from my beloved childhood, I decided to see if it helps up as good as the first one did?!? Watching now n will comment when done, but I suspect that I will NOT be disappointed,!!!!
My favorite movie with Shirley and one of my favorite movies ever. 💖🌹💖 The relationship between R. Young/Tommy and Shirley Temple/Ching Ching is very good and sound and also very respectful (which is not the case with other actors in other movies with Shirley, sometimes they behave more or less in an unhealthy way with her) Thanks for sharing 🙏
No they don't. That is just what people keep telling us. Read Shirley's autobiography and watch her interviews. She never felt disrespected or treated inappropriately in the least. Nowadays we immediately think hugging and kissing a child or holding her in a lap is " inappropriate". Even parents have to apologize for cuddling. It is ridiculous and so very sad.
Shirly Temple , yes so loveable , but groomed for every part she ever played , her cuteness knows no bounds , what evet happened to her when she got older ? There will never be another ST again , she must have been an angel sent from heaven .
She continued acting. kiss and tell is on UA-cam it’s a movie from when she was like 15. She did so much with her life and then died at a good old age. Makes me happy. Loved her so much.
As I understood it, she later in life became an ambassadrice for the United States of America in a certain country. 👍😏 (Don't remember wich one) Regards,💐
Terrible you don’t know. She had her own television show: _Shirley Temple's Storybook_ from 1958-1961. Here’s a tidbit I copied and pasted. You can research the whole story yourself. _U.S. Ambassador Shirley Temple Black was an icon. She upheld the highest standards of poise and class, and will be missed. By the time Ambassador Black was assigned to serve in Czechoslovakia in 1989, she was already a seasoned diplomat who had worked in Ghana and as the State Department's Chief of Protocol._ I don’t know what you mean by _she was groomed for every part_ ~ lol. She had the happiest of childhoods and of adulthoods. She did absolutely everything she ever wanted to do.
It was a different time. No little girls are going to get in a car with a grown man in our day. But we were allies with the Chinese just before World War 2. So they are played as self serviant, but not evil. Not for a few years yet till the Revolution. Shirley was lovely. The colorization isn't too bad.
what a wonderful beautiful breathtaking amazing cutest star ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ child she was and as she grow older she was still very funny 😂😂 also sad mouves she played 🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋🌹💋.
I wonder how long it took and how much work it took for her to speak a Chinese dialect so we'll. They say the younger, the easier it is to learn multiple languages
When I was little, whenever a Shirley Temple movie came on it felt like a holiday.
I can see why.

Back in the 1950's Shirley Temple movies were frequent afternoon fare on tv, but my mother told me the good ones weren't being shown.
Brilliant comment. Nothing much feels like a roof top these days.
In the garden of my oft remembered part.

Such a lovely film; one of Shirley's finest, and she is adorable and marvelous. Alice Faye was so beautiful and talented.
Arthur Treacher's accent always cracked me up. I love him in these movies with Shirley. They just don't make great movies like these anymore.
The part where he was pretending to be a train is always funny.
Every movie with Shirley is made my day! Thanks for letting us enjoy it for free.
movies were so clean back then
