I have a question for you. so on one of the websites for The limited rad tech program they say that it's faster to get in to a technology program by going through as a technician because you can avoid the waiting list by returning to a private radiology college in to pursue becoming a CRT. Is this true?
@@v3rde776 Usually not true but that’s how Private Colleges get you. Let’s think about it so limited rad tech is possibly 6 months and in a private school that’s $20K. I meant no disrespect towards LMRT but I’m from FL and here I’ve NEVER seen a LMRT work in a hospital because they are semi useless so to the fact that you CAN’T do FLUORO, OR (C-ARM), you can’t like you said do MRI or CT so basically in FL it’s not worth hiring a LMRT because they are limited 🤷🏽♂️ Here in FL you go straight into a Full Radiology Technologist Program you don’t have to waste time and do LMRT because that double the registry exams you would have to do and for what 🤷🏽♂️ Again no disrespect towards LMRT but if you brought your license here to FL you’ll be lucky to work at a Dr.s office if that 🤷🏽♂️
Limited xray techs can't work at the hospital either here in Arkansas. They are in clinics. They are not allowed to xray abdomen, pelvis/hips, ribs, sternum, fluoroscopy
Yeah Jen I believe California is possibly the only state who allows LMRT to work at hospitals because it’s mandatory to go to LMRT before a two year program.

I’m a limited x ray tech and been in the field for 7 years, I’ve worked in a hospital setting, imaging centers and different urgent cares and doctors offices, Limited x ray techs work pretty much anywhere Radiologic techs works except for Intervential Radiology….I’m not sure what school you went to but Here in California, most schools require students to first Become and LMRT before they can go into the RT program.
Limited x rays techs pretty much do everything that RTs do except fluoroscopy exams and of course not MRI or CT or ultrasonography…Limited x ray techs are registered with ARRT…And yes we are Certified MAs not “trained in medical assistant”…You probably went to a Direct Radiologic tech program that’s why your info on limited techs is wrong.
I meant no disrespect towards LMRT but I’m from FL and here I’ve NEVER seen a LMRT work in a hospital because they are semi useless so to the fact that you CAN’T do FLUORO, OR (C-ARM), you can’t like you said do MRI or CT so basically in FL it’s not worth hiring a LMRT because they are limited 🤷🏽♂️
Here in FL you go straight into a Full Radiology Technologist Program you don’t have to waste time and do LMRT because that double the registry exams you would have to do and for what 🤷🏽♂️
Again no disrespect towards LMRT but if you brought your license here to FL you’ll be lucky to work at a Dr.s office if that 🤷🏽♂️
Limited xray techs can't work at the hospital either here in Arkansas. They are in clinics. They are not allowed to xray abdomen, pelvis/hips, ribs, sternum, fluoroscopy
Yeah Jen
I believe California is possibly the only state who allows LMRT to work at hospitals because it’s mandatory to go to LMRT before a two year program.
Hi@@thexrayzone I'm from Florida and I am preparing for the ARRT exam. If I want to take the LMRT exam just to have a job because there is a clinic close to my house that is hiring, does it count here for ARRT's 3 attempts?
