Good to find someone that acknowledges that a lot of people and I would say the majority don't want all that electronic diver aids. This is safer than the rest of the utes because it has full time 4WD, 4W disc brakes, is heavier ans actually rides and handles the crap roads we have. I just paid a deposit on a used express quad cab to replace my 79 series cruiser. I couldn't put up with the rough ride anymore because the country roads are getting worse not better. My back looks forward to a break and the quietness will also be a relief. The ram is 4db quieter at 100. Great review, thanks
4db Quieter at 100 😅 Another thing to Like about the RAM 👍 At least you have taken the leap of faith. I'm still on the fence until the Bank opens ??? I just finished writing a book/comment sharing some thoughts of which is best for me ?? Wish you all the best for your latest purchase. Hopefully I will be smiling too 😉
@@weldmachine thanks for the comments. It is a risk buying one but like you said, a leap of faith. If it's no good I can sell it. The cruiser is worth good money at present so the change over will be less than 20 grand. Thanks for the best wishes. Cheers mate.
The RAM is fitted with Coil Springs which does cut the carrying capacity a fair bit. But, their is the option to fit Air Bags. IF, you need to put a car in the back ??
The 1500 is a class 2a truck which limits it to 8,500 lb GVWR. Unfortunately all the manufacturers have gone for comfort over payload and have kept the GVWR at least 1,000 lbs below the limit. They probably figure that anyone who wants higher payload is going for a 2500 or 3500.
The Hemi is so old and has none of the charm, reliability, affordability, or modularity of the LS. I know it's not a bad engine, but it's time for a new mill. I feel like the 3.6 v6 is a better option (which I assume isn't offered in AUS) even if it's down on power. The 3.6 is in everything and is truly a reliable engine. At any rate, it's time for a new V8 or Turbo V6 Stellantis.

Ram 1500 classic in the USA and Canada. Such a solid performing Truck. Great value for your dollar especially with the Hemi v8.
Which Thai built ute is 90k or are you referring to the new Ranger Raptor?
Those smaller utes don't compare to this
Be crazy to buy this with the new model out
Not really. It's a solid truck especially if you need a full size truck and don't want to spend a lot of cash.
Good ole American V8 muscle...
Payload is still ridiculous for a ute this size. Should be nearly 50-75% more or what is the point.
It's american thing. I don't know why tho
Our stupid laws not the car.

It’s a real pickup truck for real men!
Love how they don’t have all those annoying driver aids
4x4 V8 Ute encourages off roading and drag racing.
the F 150 has a bit more power and over a 110nm more torque with a v6 and bit better economy
No charging ports in rear just dumb this day and age.
Stealing honest peoples money all these car sales rep
Forget the Karen's I want one.
