I own a RAM1500 Laramie in Flame Red and it's awesome to drive. It gets the looks all the time probably because I have the personal QLD plate - "The BFT" on it...
This truck has been on sale since 2009 in the USA and will be available thru 24' model year. That's 15 years. RAM upgraded the truck in 13' the new 2025 truck will be available in the USA and Canada in the middle of 24'. The 19' version RAM 1500 only lasted thru early/ mid 24'. While the 09' truck will be available thru December of 24'.
My main complaint about the Australian version is the lack of Audio controls on the steering wheel. Not a major concern when it's a Left Hand drive.. After switching to Right hand drive the simple volume control is even further away because it's now handy for the passenger to adjust the volume. Other than this small concern. I do really like the RAM, either as an Express or Warlock. Still unsure IF I would buy it ?? I was originally looking at the Express. Because it's enough of a RAM for what I'm looking for. But, silly things like a Plastic Steering Wheel is a tight arse way to build a car/truck in 2020 ?? These 2 simple little things is enough to think do I really want to buy one. My main interests started when I was trying to find a Dual Cab with a decent tray size ?? I thought I found the solution with a RAM ???
Nice truck, the Ram box is designed for guns isn’t it, why would it be insulated, I think the Ram box is being flogged under a politically correct banner to justify its cost. It’s interesting, Australia has taken the Warlock, while the states is switching to another version upgraded, similar but upgraded to the classic.
The warlock comes with all sorts of different options. For instance yours is the first one I’ve seen with a ram box. Mine doesn’t have a Center console. My friends has heated and cooled seats with a sun roof and Center console. Mine has rebel rims. The options differ just like the other models.
I have a 2021 Warlock 4x4, similar to the way the one you have is kitted out, with some marked differences. Most notably, no sport hood, no RAMbox, and the slightly smaller Quad Cab and bigger bed, or tub as you call it, not the crew cab and smaller tub you have. Mine also has a lower level of options in the passenger compartment. Lower level gauges, no leather, but I do have a storage compartment under the fold up back seat bottom, not in the floor under the mats. No tow hooks or bumper mounted fog lights either. But still a very capable vehicle, and I agree with your assessment, not exactly a city vehicle, more comfortable out on the road. One thing I noticed on mine, you mention the long wheel base, one of my previous vehicles was a full sized 4x2 truck. A standard 2 door cab and 8 foot bed, not sure what that works out to in meters, but the current 4x4 RAM is longer than that truck.
The US version has an option of more off-road capable tires, with slightly smaller wheels than the standard, 17 inches instead of the regular. I do not know if the Aussie Warlocks do or not, but I would think so.
Hi, you mention in the video that you can get diff lockers for this aftermarket. I haven’t been able to find any, could you please advise where you can get these? Thanks
It's a fish out of water. Way too big for Australian roads and that fuel economy is just plain embarrassing. A 6 cylinder diesel would eat this alive 😁
Just picked up my 2021 Warlock with the Hemi. I love it. I had an 08 Ram Hemi with 318k miles and it ran like it was new. That Hemi is a boss of an engine. The only issue I have with my warlock.......they forgot to put the damn "Warlock" decal on it. Pisses me off. That decal alone doubles the coolness level. And I don't have one. Jack asses.
Those stock tires are garbage. I understand it's a review of the truck as is from factory. That being said it isn't as squirrely once you put some nice tires on it like duratracks or k02s
I want to see a RAM that's lifted, big tyres etc on some of our tough Aussie tracks. See so many reviews with road tyres on tracks that you could drive al.ost any car on. Anyone know of duck a video, I am interested as i am considering buying a RAM
Best thing would be to watch the American reviews of Ram off road and get a general idea... The Fast Lane Truck channel on youtube tests Rams off road just search through their videos...
Pathetic payload capability, add few accessories, 2 people, full fuel tank plus the extra tank you 'will' need and a caravan towball mass of 250-300kgs (which is why most of these trucks will be purchased - to tow 3 tonne plus) and its overloaded. Most smaller utes available in OZ are far more 'payload' capable. Sure its got a mother of an engine but hook up that caravan and its 20+ L per 100kms forever. These Yankee manufacturers (and Toyota with the Landcruiser 200) should be drawn and quartered for producing a huge engined truck with such low capabilities. No diff lock as standard and low profile tyres will have this truck with multiple punctures and stuck all over OZ. RAM trucks 750-820kg payloads with NO fuel in tank but not as bad as Landcruiser 200 series with its 650ish kg payload.
Aussie living in the US. I have a Gen 2 ford raptor. The price of this Ram in Aus is simply insane. I wish Australia had these big trucks - the raptor is the best vehicle I've ever owned, but the economics don't make sense as they do here. Its also an FCA product which does not have the best reputation for reliability although everyone has a different experience. Hoping that Ford puts a better engine in the ranger raptor to live up to the raptor name.
Well last 5 years Ram has dramatically improved. And still continue and improve on. Now I’m also stating this with everyday people I work with and know who own Fords GM and Ram. Well lole and behold Ram has lesser issues than Ford and GM. 5 years old to now mind ya. All have there issues but pick your issue. For the record I never liked Ram until lately. People I knew proved it to me over several years of course. Now the Raptor is a cool machine. Now the new TRX is a lot cooler yet👍👍👍👏👏 Cheers!!
Blame government , I'm lucky to make $5000 profit on one ... The government taxes car to hell in Australia + 5% custom duty at port this is on TV , bikes , motorbikes , caravan we import to ( social democracy for ya and left blame capitalism
The only unreliable vehicles I can think of are Range Rover, Jaguar and Land Rover. Absolute garbage! Also, Toyota is not what it used to be. Rams are very reliable and most comfortable pick up trucks on the market. If I didn’t have it I wouldn’t say. I’m on second one right now. Both Hemi 5.7 L. Starts every time in -30C and never overheats pulling trailers at 30C+ Weather here is going from one extreme to another. Greetings from Canada.
Yeah, but people by 200 series Cruiser and chop them into utes, or by a 70 series and spend $50k to make it what they want. Meanwhile a Ram could just be their ticket to begin with.
Hopefully you will get the Tradesman package over there at some point. A true work truck. Vinyl floors and seats steel wheels, I no nonsense truck. Mine has the V6 and I paid 25k u.s. New. Sticker price was 32k.
Love it. I wouldn't have one only because of the low payload, I just bought another Hilux. But if it wasn't for work you bet. Question marks over the reliability but provided there's a warranty on offer that will see you through the loan term who cares
If you keep eating those “Breakfast” pies you won’t fit in anything else but the Ram.
More Ram.. more breakfast pies.. I see this as an absolute win!

My 2021 V6 warlock looks higher than this one. Interesting. It looks like yours is running at the regular 1500 RAM ride height?

Looks weird with those turn signal lights on the fenders. Mine has them on the tow mirrors.

Its a shame that the 21 model was stripped of a lot of the features and equpment, still a nice truck to drive though
cant find this anywhere in the usa. this is the nicest warlock ive ever seen. ours here are shit.
Amazing truck!
permits lol Australia really treats their citizens like children. like the video though just bought one in utah
It had road tyres too. Put some decent all terrains on it

I don't need a RAM but I want a RAM 🐏
Love the Ram great rig.
I could just hear those pines scratching that new paint :(
Its freaking me out watching you drive on that side of the road. Interior is so cool all backwards to my Warlock.
Just say what the hp is. Sounds so gay when you use metric.
Be nice to the 2021 Rebel instead of sloppy 2nds warlock
The steering wheel is on the wrong side in this vehicle
15ltr/100km is pretty good. My old Ca18det 180sx did that much with nowhere near as much torque and regular driving.
Hi, you mention in the video that you can get diff lockers for this aftermarket. I haven’t been able to find any, could you please advise where you can get these? Thanks
Sold my 200 series , my new 1500 Ram shits all over the cruiser, comfort , power performance , 8 speed , pulling capabilities.
Yeah but you now don’t own a cruiser

If it's in warranty, you could probably get that sorted at no cost
😂
If you were reviewing a hilux you would have spent the whole time picking the crap out of it, ram paying $$
Those stock tires are garbage. I understand it's a review of the truck as is from factory. That being said it isn't as squirrely once you put some nice tires on it like duratracks or k02s
Thanks for the thorough review. Would like this but could never handle the fuel economy!
I would love one with the steering wheel on the wrong side! Lol!
You mean on the “correct”side cheers from the 🇺🇸
Like warlock, wouldn’t mind a Cummins 6, wish Nissan bring RHD Titan to replace old Patrol but has have Diesel engine.
come back and give us a review when its 5 years old
They have been making these trucks for 70 years
If you want a better ram 1500 off road buy a rebel. It has off road tires, a 2 inch lift, lower gears and a proper rear locker.
When did 15L/100km become 'respectable'
That's absolutely crap. Leave this junk to the Americans
Is it possible to buy and import one of these to britain?
Isn’t there a newer model? How come it doesn’t come to Au?
Yeah check out SCD vehicles. They have the DT Ram
Looks good but I’ll wait for the trx
TRX looks like it might cost close to 200k here after the steering wheel conversion. I was thinking about one too, but 200k is really pricey.
I want to see a RAM that's lifted, big tyres etc on some of our tough Aussie tracks. See so many reviews with road tyres on tracks that you could drive al.ost any car on. Anyone know of duck a video, I am interested as i am considering buying a RAM
