What's just crazy is Disney should have been absolutely laughing right about now. They had one of the BIGGEST and most adored franchises going that it pretty much prints you money as long as you just respected it and delivered good and well made movies and TV shows in good faith. Yes, they used similar costumes, props and the label. But there was no Star Wars in the story or plots. No heart or soul. Much like Star Trek which is probably more New Star Wars'ish than Trek now.

Disney never should have even touched the original trilogy- well, the first six movies. they never should’ve even cast Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford in any of their reboots. Everything they did with these characters wrong.

George Lucas handed over the key to the world. Disney bit down on that key and folded it in half, then complained when it no longer fit the lock (meaning the fans.) They keep pumping out trash and calling it Star Wars hoping that ignorant young audiences won't notice their blatant insults to the franchise.

They have the video about he cancelled Batgirl movie. That the movie was 'too low' in quality to be put out (even on streaming). To this day, I am still surprised they put Last Jedi out into theaters. Not only did I think it was bad, I though it was the worst movie I had ever seen in a theater. There's nothing you can do after that movie. There wasn't a real story to begin with and it did whatever it could to avoid a story and acted like it was the most clever thing ever made.
You would have to erase all those films (and ever the streaming shows) and start over. Luke Skywalker would have to be in it somehow and I don't think anyone wants to see Mark Hamil anymore. It still would never make its money back.
They should stick with making more Deadpool movies.

I believe that if Disney was to sell this to someone who truly loved Star wars like just for example and I know he's not going to do this but say George Lucas bought it back. I think to immediately decanonized the sequel trilogy and a few other things that Disney has done and Star wars could be put back on track but those things must happen first! As long as the deauel trilogy stands, there will be no second coming of star wars!

I saw the original trilogy in the cinema and loved them. I also saw the prequels and thought they were mostly OK. But the sequels have bored me to tears. Disney messed up the handover to the new generation of characters so badly that I'm simply not interested in Star Wars anymore, even if they rebooted it with the current generation or completely new actors and characters.

You forgot to mention how they back stabbed EU fans, the people who spent the most money on the franchise in the first place starting between 1978 (Splinter Of The Mind's Eye or Thrawn Trilogy anybody?) and 2014, only to have disney give us one big FUCK YOU when they froze the EU and were stupid enough to declare it "non canon", when the reality is is that other then the original trilogy that was the main thing keeping SW afloat by a longshot. We all had dreams of the EU being onscreen at long last. Not with disney at the helm. Disney culture is very dedicated to the idea that capital expenditure can create more capital. They don't care about the writing. In fact, they never have. Disney had this rep it didn't deserve. If you looked at what they made before buying Marvel and Lucasfilm you'll notice that they wrote shows and movies that were very bad story wise. This was a winning formula for their target audience which were girls who were 13 years old or younger. All they needed was media hype and that they could buy. They didn't change that tactic once they gained Marvel and Star Wars. For them it's all about the decisions the executives make not what the creative types make. They hate creativity, what they love is money and money expenditures, the things that executives do.

I’ve said this so many times, but I’m gonna say it again. If you paid to watch disney’s “Star Wars” movies, shows, gone to their theme parks, etc. then YOU funded them to make this shit and YOU can not complain how it turned out. I was born in 1997 and grew up with Star Wars. It was my favorite movie series as a kid. I played all the games, read all the comics, etc. When disney bought it and said the EU was no longer canon, I said fuck that. I wasn’t going to participate in their shit when 99% of what I loved was decanonized. I never watched a single one of their movies or shows. So, if you’re upset about what they did, but you watched it, and that includes hate-watching, then you have no reason to complain. Lay in the bed you made.

i'm actually happy to see what's happening to star wars for a few reasons:
1. everyone THINKS they can make a quality product - but they've seen that it's not so easy
2. Everyone hated the prequels - but they look like gold now (and they were never that bad)
3. Everyone doesn't want their favorite story to end - but we're learning that sometimes, it's better to leave it to head cannon and an EU
i'm an adult, and star wars 7 isn't star wars, to me, it's just the OG 6 and the clone wars mini series, i'm happy to leave everything else to MY head cannon - there's no point in even TALKING about the new star wars, imo - it's trash, and will continue to be trash, and the ONLY thing keeping it on life support is that people still talk about it - ignore it and it'll die, the universe will be wiped out and the original EU beofre disney will come back and they'll restart the franchise with more respect

Disney does not include a simple rating system on their streaming service. They do that soo they can retain the illusion that everything is good.
Prime, Netflix, Apple, and I don’t know who else, has as a minimum a thumbs up or down rating method. Any remotely intelligent company has a means to measure customer satisfaction. Disney doesn’t. And no, their over convoluted suggestion process due not count as a rating system.
That’s why this is happening.
Not to mention, the easiest they could do is work with the Star Wars fiction authors to keep canon. Some of their stories are legendary, and Disney just couldn’t be bothered.

This is how you save Star Wars: Make Timothy Zahn’s books; Heir to the Empire (1991), Dark Force Rising (1992), and The Last Command (1993) into major films. They were the first legit trilogy and great story ideas after Return of the Jedi where people who didn’t read books, decided to read these. Since the film Everything Everywhere All At Once (with Jamie Lee Curtis & Ke Huy Quan), the Gen X, Millennial, & Gen Z generations have accepted the idea that there is more than one Universe. -Parallel Universes. Even George Lucas is on camera accepting these ideas. So, if you release Heir, Dark, & Last without episode numbers, and you let the audiences decide what Star Wars universe is for them, you save the Star Wars franchise and make billions.

Some speeder bikes that appear to be no longer functional. Defunct Deeds to a lot of spaceships sent to breaker yards around the galaxies. And tons of clones of Jango Fett. I'm virtually giving away clone troopers by the pickup truck load to anyone that shows up...
