      @@JessieatPlot37 I’m unsure I trust the store bought seeds anymore. In 2021 the seeds were put out in March, vendor took them back in June, September the display for 2022 was put up in top stock in outside lawn & garden for display in 2022. I’m thinking they just repackaged the old seeds for the new year and that’s why germination was so bad the last time I bought this brand in the store. I bought my seeds online this year to be safer.

Last year I planted peas alderman in modules and wen they were 1-2” high very small I planted it out in 2 rows in march and covered with fleece till they were about 6” and I didn’t lose one to mice. But I sowed some and left outside with a cover in back garden on potting bench and mice ate every single one. So looking forward to seeing your results and hoping ours will be good again. Sowing when the moon is waxing is supposed to give better growth than when waining, I have never had any luck getting peas out of a gutter pipe in one piece,it usually all falls apart,might give it another again and just lay it on top of the no dig bed in the pea arium.

      Hey Andrew, yeah, i always sow my peas crazy close like that. I never used to but a few years back i just had so many i crammed them in (direct sown into the ground) and they were phenomenal! So i've stuck to it and it works a treat. :D

    Hello, I wanted to thank you for your videos I really enjoy them. I wanted to ask for some advice if possible? my allotment has some big dips and random holes in the paths which are grass but prone to weeds. how do you fill those holes? the raised beds are all in I just need to level it. would you fill the dips with soil and reseed them with grass seed? thank you

    • @JessieatPlot37
      @JessieatPlot37  2 роки тому

      Hi Karin, yeah, i'd fill them and seed them or if possible, dig out a chunk of turf from another patch to filling the hole and already have grass on top. I'm always moving bits of our 'paths' around like that. Just tred them in well and they should take!

    I’m always disappointed by my visits to garden centres. Never have what I go for. What frame/wire shelf do you just for your plant pots? I’ve grown to love honeysuckle, my favourite smell in the garden

    • @JessieatPlot37
      @JessieatPlot37  2 роки тому

      Yeah, its frustrating isn't it! even when you go to the massive ones. The 'pot rack' was something i found in a skip years ago. I think it was an old shop display rack. And yeah, i agree Jamie, that smell is amzing!

      @@JessieatPlot37 thanks for that I’m looking for a way to store all my different plant pots so it’s easy to get the ones I need without having to empty my shed out.

    Oh my, those opening scenes 😍 My windshield often needs clearing, but we rarely get temperatures cold enough long enough for a gorgeous frost like that.
    I'm still undecided on which peas to grow this year - even though I will have to sow them from February onward. Still looking for inspiration... I may put mangetout in my pumpkin bed - because I don't know what else to put there until May?
    I did just sow half of my Black Beauty Aubergines 👏🏻 (no germination yet) - can't wait to see how yours do - our climates are similar enough that it makes sense to compare (last year, we always got London weather about 2 days later 🤣 )

      Oh that frost was soooo magical! Like something out of a fairytale.
      Yeah, i'm planning a few sneaky pea/sugarsnap plantings while ground is waiting. :D
