When it's fully charged and you put it in hybrid the 4xe will prioritize electric and run it whenever possible until battery is depleted. Running in hybrid with a full battery isn't really that different than running in "Electric" mode.
According to the owners manual, the engine could kick on in colder temperatures to help with heating the cabin. This would not be FORM. Under Section: ELECTRIC MODE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE -> Thermal Protection that can inhibit Electric Mode - and why Electric cabin heating capacity limits (or electric cabin heater fault)&- Unlike Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV's), the PHEV Wrangler can warm the cabin more efficiently with engine heat when operating below 15°F outside temperature.
1) It is great that your 4xe is working normally. 2) I would like to know if there were any firmware changes made in the latest firmware to help with FORM in cold weather ?
@@almaiorino5103 I personally don’t like to use eSave too much. But to avoid short engine runs, it is one of two options. You can also pull the shifter in to manual.
I have literally been in form for 2 months. It would come out for a day or two then go back to form. Fyi, I'm in northern Kentucky, so same weather as you. Just came out of form today and I'm over the moon. Let's see how long it lasts. New fun discovery now, a few days ago I had 47% oil life. Yesterday a msg pops saying change oil soon. I look and it says 0% oil life?!? How does that magically happen? Did some interweb research, turns out this is a thing . When too much fuel gets in the oil and dilutes it, commonly from remote start warmups, and FORM is not enough to burn it out, you have to CHANGE YOUR OIL!!! I want to love this vehicle but the relationship is getting toxic.
Yeah that how mine was let say just got out of form and was too cold outside. FORM and electric un available are 2 different thing. Was really in form all winter lol
Very Good Info again!!! Love it! ❤
Why would folks (if they have access to be able to charge their vehicle) run in Hybrid vs EV mode? Minus the recall issues of course.

@@junyr73 Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
@ Electric mode raises the demand start threshold and reduces short engine runs.

@@brucepowell6630 I would too. There was an update on one of the previous issues but that’s been a while.
Would it be better to be in esave mode, in the winter, to warm engine up to avoid form? Got my 4xe Wrangler in Nov.

How are you never in FORM and why does your oil life never go to 0%? Not fair.
@@tml184 I think it’s how I drive it.
@@Wrangler4XEFans 100% Seems like people think that FORM just happens because it cold/winter.
Here it is never that cold… so I never seen it behave like that
