@@neverclevernorwitty7821 where this shines is when paired with an ecoflow battery so you can run small loads off the battery with the generator only kicking on intermittently. @gavincregan7892 also Minimalist campers. I want to do a cargo trailer build and not really finish it or anything. Just have it insulated with ventilation and be able to do a modular set up that I can take out so I can use the trailer as utility trailer Part time and camping part time, as well as having home back up during extreme weather like you mention. Everything being multi-use or dual purpose so I can invest in Higher Quality is my goal. I got my parents and myself each an Ecoflow Delta 2 Max and a single Smart Generator to share with them as we don't live more than 35 miles apart, but we are on 2 separate electrical grids, so it's unlikely we'll go down at the same time.
@@pyoodiepie Well, if you can charge one on a longer cable as well as power things to boot, a Honda or a conventional other inverter generator would be fine. Besides, I am not sure if I would want to stock pile batteries in my house knowing that when they go, they REALLY go and take your home and you with it. It's bad enough that my tablet, phone, Nintendo Switch, laptop and various game controllers rely on these relatively potentially volatile little things. That and internal combustion engines are recyclable, batteries aren't and also have a shorter life expectancy especially for the price.
Your 6kw uses twice the fuel, even at low loads. During power outages, I'm pulling about 1000w continuously until I start turning things on. After a week or more with the 6k, that's a gas bill you will feel.
I'm loving your videos about generators. Awesome work. Thank you. I have a question though about a predator 5,000 from Harbor Freight. Does the dual fuel predator 5,000 have a steel bore or not? You are the only person to talk about this subject. Thank you in advance.
Steel sleeve in that one as well. Although not sure if you have bought the Predator or not. But it’s still 50/50 on ones that work and ones that don’t. I still see a lot of issues. So definitely get a warranty and hopefully you get the good one
I Love EcoFlow products...own a River Pro and Delta 2 max. Great video but I'll stick with my Dumb generator lol. Been using a Predator 3500 for the last 4 years with over 1k running hours and Love it.
It’s not clear to me how compatible this is with the delta pro ultra. It looked like you were DC charging an ultra but does it replace one of the solar inputs to do that? Whenever I AC charge my ultra with a generator, it seems to transfer any loads to the generator rather than using the inverter on the ultra. I know all of these products are new but it sure is hard to figure out what works together on the EcoFlow site so I really appreciate content like yours to explain things.
Unfortunately this does not work with DPU hence not mentioned and me trying to plug it in at the end. We all thought it would be some how. Maybe there is a new just for it..?🤷🏼♂️
It’s depends … I think lower rpm is better especially on Ac charging but the original will burn less fuel being 80cc It will be more depending on what you need
The new Smart Generator looks sweet. I wonder if I could hook it up to my 2 Power kits running thru the Smart Home Panel. Ecoflow seems to forget about the Power kits. Very few videos. Always about the Delta Pro/Ultra and now with the Delta Pro 3! No mention of using the Smart Generator with the Power kits😠

As someone else mentioned, it's cost is due to the fact that you can link it with a delta pro or a power kit and have it kick in and turn off on it's own as needed to keep the batteries charged instead of having to go outside every time your batteries get too low
EcoFlow needs to make one with an oil pump and oil filter configuration. Watercooled would be nice, but I think the oil filter and pump would really increase reliability and require far less maintenance.
@@johnnysweekends obv. but it’s better than having to change the oil every 100 hours. with that interval people will have to change the oil every week.
@styledliving all depends on how much you use it. Most only out a couple hundred a year and if charging a power station then it’s even less. All depends
Enjoyed the video. Currently as of today 11/16/2024, the Ecoflow 4000 generator is "Sold Out" - Can't find one anywhere (except for eBay). You mentioned they were going to Tri-fuel, and it would be available in the near future. Any word on when the new unit will come out? The Ecoflow sales team tell me they do not know. thanks
@@TheCornucopiaProject-bd5jk Plenty actually. My current Champion Tri Fuel Inverter Generator is helping get through Beryl right now. I still don't have power for the last 6 days and don't always produce enough solar when cloudy. An integrated Ecoflow generator would provide better integration and automatic remote start when batteries run low without worrying about refueling. In theory it would be the best combination between a home battery backup and standby whole house generator
I’m debating on the Ecoflow 4000 or the Predator 5000 to power my Dometic air conditioner on our Encore ROG 12RKSS. Would this handle that and still start and stop as the air conditioning kicks on?
I have an ultra with shp2 … in the event of a grid outage, can I use this generator to power the batteries while the batteries are powering the shp2 ??
You can use it. But only normal AC charging. There is no dc connection. You can still use smart features in the app to start and stop it. But no automations
@danielruiz5348 correct unless you get a 240v generator and use the Ecoflow adapter 5+8 port. Or use the transformer which I’m using. I showed it in a video
Hey Johnny, I'm still trying to figure out all this generator and home back up and solar stuff. LOVE your channel. I have a Delta Ultra Pro now with one battery. Will this Smart 4000 automatically kick on with the Delta Ultra Pro if it is low? I was reading that it would not. Also, will this work with a 50 Amp Interlock Inlet for a circuit breaker panel. I saw that the 4000 only has 30 Amp out.
No it won’t smart connect to DPU unfortunately and it’s only 120v Gen so a 240v unit would be better for the home and a Gen inlet box if it’s wired to power the whole panel
Just got my SG4000 and connected it to my DP I have in my RV. I had 1) 15k A/C on pulling 1.7KW. The solar was generating 300w and the generator was generating 1.6kw to 1.7kw for a combined 2kw of input. The SG4000 was set to 3200w of output and was in performance and not eco. Any idea why it was not pushing more to charge the DP faster? Is it supposed to only match the output and the solar was doing the recharging?
Update: I have run the generator for over 5 hours now. I was on a live stream with EcoFlow and they were confused by the behavior I mentioned in the first post and asked me to do a video to send them showing the issue. As I did this, it functioned correctly and would increase the output above 1600 when I made the change in the app. Not sure why it wouldn’t do it earlier but is functioning correctly now. Break in period???
Great info! im a bit confused on the dc to DP3 if is going to come with the battery connector adaptor or the xt150 so a dp3 would have both extra battery connectors available for more capacity. What i'm looking for is a system to auto start and shut down to charge my solar setup. Is it possible through the app to have that happen off of battery capacity or voltage through the 110v or 240v plugs? so we could use this generator for any old battery or is it going to be a full ecoflow setup up to have is auto start stop of the dc charging only. Thanks a bunch best reviews on yt
Predator is one of the quietest though so pretty hard to compete. But most people just dont stand by there generator and talk about how loud or quiet it is. Or maybe they do…🤔
@@johnnysweekends I don't know, the last time we had a power outage, all I could hear was the annoying sound of my neighbor's generator he had running on his RV.
This tech makes solar so much more practical. It allows to evolve a system specific to an area at minimum cost. Now we just need a dual fuel generator option that is LPG and Propane. No gasoline required.
@@johnnysweekends I was thinking natural gas lol. No fuel tank, no carburetor. Can run for extended periods if needed with app tracking maintenance intervals. Surprised more companies haven't added this generator option. I think the demand it there with auto switchover and control with an app creating a lot of versatility. The next few years will be great as these technologies converge.
@@johndelabretonne2373 lower price, smaller form factor and lower weight generators. But mostly for much longer run times if connected to a larger tank or natural gas source. No need to haul or handle gasoline. Not to mention storing it. Propane is safe, easy to store and doesn't go bad.
The basic info like oil is all in the manual which everyone should read. The gen provides AC at 120v and 60hz. And pure sine wave. Or DC if you have a Ecoflow product I’ll do a service video later 👍🏼
Someone just did it and it’s the same as my original How to Install an ECOFLOW Smart Generator Exhaust Extension ua-cam.com/video/SLDodjfXHG8/v-deo.html
When they get smart and stop building gas generators and build a Diesel generator then they would be at the top of the generator chain and the demand would be enormous...
@blairvigil1633 then where are they? I’ve looked. China has them but going through customs could be a loss. Hence again, price will be the bigger factor and next will be weight. Again that’s why we dont see them, not to mention the potential mechanical nightmare as people dont know how to work on anything anymore.
HYUNDAI HAS A few so does Coleman Onan Cummins Lambo has a one cylinder air cooled and If I remember correctly there are inverter Diesel gens out there not even China junk not that everything from China is junk but this current administion is making it harder for anyone to purchase a Diesel gen unless it got Crappp epa so thank them and that Country of California....
I have a 3200 watt diesel onan in my Winnebago RV. She runs great and Very easy to plug into my transfer switch. But then again I take it south for the winter. Lol
I would rather have the Honda. I've never really been a battery fan. Yes, the Honda isn't as feature rich but Honda has a legacy and is still the go-to for any generator out there. I would rather have two 2200 Hondas in parallel than one big 3/4000 one but if I want a big one I would go for the 7000 model. It has bluetooth connectivity, FUEL INJECTION and other things without having to rely on battery systems or be a supplement to them. The downside is the price as it's CA$5000 or more. I guess if I win the lottery or a Honda contest, then yeah, the 7000 would replace my 5500/6500 open frame Chinese clone.
I can’t say for sure unless I had two engines and tore them down Could it be a gx200 clone which is a very old motor from Honda but proven? Very possible!
Can I use this new generator for other Ecoflow products such Delta 2 and Delta 2 Max? In addition, can I also charge other brands such as Anker? I assume, it may need some adaptor/connector?
Honestly the predator still has issues verses the 3500 is still doing great. But if you don’t have Ecoflow products then no real reason for this. I would go champion or Wen 4500
Yes, but I don’t think firmware is ready. But I assume anytime. DP3 was priority. Then SHP2 and then anything with a XT150 connection should be coming soon..👍🏼
@@johnnysweekends Thanks for the information I watch all of your videos. If someone could market a pump like this for a Honda Eu2200i I am sure they would make a fortune.
@@johnnysweekends I was referring more to an extended fuel tank. An bare bones extended range fuel setup is over $100. A very good extended fuel range setup is $200+. Thanks for you reply.
Longer cables for DC voltage is bad, there’s a voltage drop and the longer the cable, the more of a drop. If you want a longer cable, I’d swap to a thicker guage wire.
There is no reason to upgrade for me. I have the old unit and it is at best ok. I also have a honda and i am much happier with it since tge ecoflow really struggles above 1500w and also gets really loud for some reason.
does nay of these generators survive in extreme heat environments? I am talking about weather conditions like those in the Saudi Arabian desert 50- 55 C degrees almost every day
Hello so I am guessing that the adaptor that goes in the battery connection on the pro 3 is not the same battery connection on the ultra and does not work the same looks like you were charging the ultra with the the 120 outlet on the generator ?????
I would assume update should be days away. It already registered but wont charge yet. So I assume any time. I have been gone and just got back. Ill have to check
I just purchased DPU and the the package included an EcoFlow 4000 watt generator and what was offered was cab Why would they package these together with cables if unable to charge DC to DC? In the comments below, someone mentioned the transfer of the DPU A/C output to the generator while charging AC charge to THE DPU I am still waiting for the generator to do my own testing. Will be disappointed if I can’t charge the DPU efficiently with the generator while the DPU IS pushing out A/C power
The DPU can not except dc charging. Only AC The smart Gen can still be used and you can have full app control but it won’t be able to talk to DPU and start and stop when it needs to.
I just received my ECOFLOW 4000 watt generator All Seems ok except for one issue: Being able to connect via Bluetooth. I have sent an email inquiry to ECOFLOW. I have multiple devices from EcoFlow to include: Ultra 2 waves Delta pro 3 And a glacier All link up to the EcoFlow app without issue. I have tried multiple ways to this 4000 watt generator to Pair. Just a continuous blinking of the symbols of Bluetooth and WiFi symbol. When i reset the IOT ( hold for 5 seconds) it beeps and the symbols just continues to blink. I have allowed the internal battery to completely charge, tried connecting with the engine running and without the engine running. Are there any suggestions or a unique procedure to in trying to Pair? A unique QR code? Any suggestions? I am still waiting from EcoFlow. Just have an automated response as of now.
@johnkraft5640 mine connects pretty quick just like the other Ecoflow products. I guess make sure it’s on the correct update and if not maybe a replace ??
I just upgraded to the Delta Pro ultra. I was assured by customer service that my smart generator would be compatible but it is not. Will this be compatible with the Delta Pro Ultra?
Overly complicated. More parts means more points of failure. If you're relying on a generator, you're probably already in a pickle and want something that gonna work thr FIRST TIME, EVERY TIME
Question please: Hi Can I use the Generator adapter plug (XT51) and connect the EcoFlow Smart Generator 4000 to ..... wait for it.. wait for it....... any of the ports on the right side of the EcoFlow Delta Pro "ULTRA" where the fast charge ports are located? What is the power transfer?
If you are going to charge an EcoFlow unit with a generator, there is not another generator out there that can hold a candle to this one. Even if you have modified the crap out of it, unless it will charge DC/DC this SG4000 wins. I can use my Delta Pro to run both A/Cs in my RV at the same time (with soft starts) drawing 2400 watts and charge it with 800 watts solar from the roof and 2400 watts from my Smart Gen 4000 and it will charge the DP even under this heavy load. Can’t do that with an A/C output Geny.
why does it not have an auto start/stop when your external battery or power station plugged into it gets to 20% and turn off when it gets to 90% again... that's sorta the whole reason Id want a generator from the same company.
They are probably waiting on CARB certification. It’s a stupid paper you have to apply for. It’s just money CA is crazy as some units qualify and some don’t even though they are the same unit.
But wait: you said that you were charging Delta Pro ultra with the Smart Generator 4000? Can you use the Ecoflow Generator to Charge Delta Pro Ultra ???? 😮
There's one thing I don't understand: Why the charging tether doesn't automatically come as a combined cable instead of the weird gender changer module that just plugs onto the end? Either that or supply two cables, one with the twin pin and the other with that weird proprietary connector.
I hope they don't sell any of those generators. They suck no solar generators.Might be one thing, but the 4th month, so the generator is stepped back.Judge more money. that get it out of here

I don't see this aimed towards the RV crowd but more towards the off grid cabins or post hurricane/natural disaster/Texas power grid customers where minimizing fuel consumption might be worth the premium price.
@johnnysweekends it's in the mail, what problems are they still having after a year or so in production? $950 delivered.
I Love EcoFlow products...own a River Pro and Delta 2 max. Great video but I'll stick with my Dumb generator lol. Been using a Predator 3500 for the last 4 years with over 1k running hours and Love it.
Predator works great!
Great job again Jon!
Thanks Kevin
Decent price 👍🏻
Especially if you grab the sale
It’s not clear to me how compatible this is with the delta pro ultra. It looked like you were DC charging an ultra but does it replace one of the solar inputs to do that? Whenever I AC charge my ultra with a generator, it seems to transfer any loads to the generator rather than using the inverter on the ultra. I know all of these products are new but it sure is hard to figure out what works together on the EcoFlow site so I really appreciate content like yours to explain things.
Unfortunately this does not work with DPU hence not mentioned and me trying to plug it in at the end. We all thought it would be some how. Maybe there is a new just for it..?🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for the video. Would you recommend it over the old one, even if the added power isn‘t really needed?
It’s depends … I think lower rpm is better especially on Ac charging but the original will burn less fuel being 80cc
It will be more depending on what you need
Excellent review.
Thank you 😊
The new Smart Generator looks sweet.
I mention the power kits twice 👍🏼
Cool. Can they get the cost down to the Duromax level? I have dual fuel 4800 and 13kw and they run great. Moving to the EcoFlow environment
I'm interested in buying a Gen Max for camping, don't need a lot of bells and whistles just something to run 30 or 50 for AC, lights and water
Look into the pulsar unit or new champion. Or if you want bells and whistles the new Maxpeeding rods unit
Pulsar amzn.to/4dkRzbZ
Champion amzn.to/3WJuQiL
Maxpeedingrods amzn.to/4coieDt

Champion or Duramax generator over a Genmax IMO.
Its cool but cost to much. Last year i got a predator 5kw generator and hav3 been super happy with it. Only for 850$ and its remote start.
It would add weight and cost. So trade off
@@johnnysweekends obv. but it’s better than having to change the oil every 100 hours. with that interval people will have to change the oil every week.
@styledliving all depends on how much you use it. Most only out a couple hundred a year and if charging a power station then it’s even less.
All depends
Is possible to start it in some domotics commands in order to make a backup to my battery bank ?
Thanks
Enjoyed the video. Currently as of today 11/16/2024, the Ecoflow 4000 generator is "Sold Out" - Can't find one anywhere (except for eBay). You mentioned they were going to Tri-fuel, and it would be available in the near future. Any word on when the new unit will come out? The Ecoflow sales team tell me they do not know. thanks
I asked and so far no word.
Also propane never goes bad.
Can you parallel two of these together for twice the output?
No unfortunately
Which companies use the “steel sleeve”?
A few but it’s more model specific
Hard pass for me. Needs DPU compatibility out the box and Tri Fuel option for the best home standby use
DPU will have to have a smart cable through the 5+8 connector or through smart panel. Maybe we will see something
Those are hard requirements for a small generator. How many models in the market already have what you ask for ?
@@TheCornucopiaProject-bd5jk Plenty actually. My current Champion Tri Fuel Inverter Generator is helping get through Beryl right now. I still don't have power for the last 6 days and don't always produce enough solar when cloudy. An integrated Ecoflow generator would provide better integration and automatic remote start when batteries run low without worrying about refueling. In theory it would be the best combination between a home battery backup and standby whole house generator
@@ChristianStJulian I couldn't agree more. What you're looking for is exactly what I'm looking for, and it's what I was hoping this unit would be.
I’m debating on the Ecoflow 4000 or the Predator 5000 to power my Dometic air conditioner on our Encore ROG 12RKSS. Would this handle that and still start and stop as the air conditioning kicks on?
Is the first dual fuel Ecoflow smart generator steel sleeved or aluminum bore?
Steele sleeved. Many with over 1000 hours
Where can I buy the connector for the propane? I have the original smart generator and the quick connect fitting is not removable
Contact Ecoflow it might be available
I have an ultra with shp2 … in the event of a grid outage, can I use this generator to power the batteries while the batteries are powering the shp2 ??
You can use it. But only normal AC charging. There is no dc connection. You can still use smart features in the app to start and stop it. But no automations
@@johnnysweekendsgot it thanks!! So only 1800w coming in from the generator
@danielruiz5348 correct unless you get a 240v generator and use the Ecoflow adapter 5+8 port. Or use the transformer which I’m using. I showed it in a video
3200 for a generator wow.... I bought the 1800 watt one for 900. I thought that was expensive. Lol
@@johnnysweekends That's what I assumed, thank you for clarifying!
Will this plug into the delta 2?
Yes
if you plug it into your house, how does it handle grounds and gfci?
Like a normal floating neutral generator
Sorry was out of town. Maybe updates were needed?
@@johnnysweekends no worries at all. I don’t recall doing any updates but I am glad it is working. Thanks for the reply. Hope you had a good time
Great info! im a bit confused on the dc to DP3 if is going to come with the battery connector adaptor or the xt150 so a dp3 would have both extra battery connectors available for more capacity.
Needs to be part of the Ecoflow ecosystem to have the full auto start stop technology. There are data pins in the Xt 150 cable.
@@johnnysweekends appreciate it!
Im curious about the poles on the flywheel. Single or dual? Most Honda’s use dual pole.
I haven’t torn it down to check but maybe ill do that in a few weeks 👍🏼
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
is it possible to use 30% propane + 70% butane gas with this generator?
Idk
Not quiet enough imho.
Honestly kinda surprised myself. It's pretty loud compared to the larger predator
Predator is one of the quietest though so pretty hard to compete. But most people just dont stand by there generator and talk about how loud or quiet it is. Or maybe they do…🤔
@@johnnysweekends I’m comparing it to a Generac 3500IQ.
Same as a predator 3500 but in a metal box and no wheels
@@johnnysweekends I don't know, the last time we had a power outage, all I could hear was the annoying sound of my neighbor's generator he had running on his RV.
This tech makes solar so much more practical. It allows to evolve a system specific to an area at minimum cost. Now we just need a dual fuel generator option that is LPG and Propane. No gasoline required.
Lpg and propane are the same 🤷🏼♂️
@@johnnysweekends I was thinking natural gas lol. No fuel tank, no carburetor. Can run for extended periods if needed with app tracking maintenance intervals. Surprised more companies haven't added this generator option. I think the demand it there with auto switchover and control with an app creating a lot of versatility. The next few years will be great as these technologies converge.
@TEN-ve8mp I agree we will see way more smart tech coming in new gen models
@@TEN-ve8mpI absolutely would not want to give up gasoline capability f for natural gas. Why when you can have all 3?
@@johndelabretonne2373 lower price, smaller form factor and lower weight generators. But mostly for much longer run times if connected to a larger tank or natural gas source. No need to haul or handle gasoline. Not to mention storing it. Propane is safe, easy to store and doesn't go bad.
If I have a tesla, I will put this into the trunk
Nice review but I didn’t see ant details covering oil…weight, adding to the unit, change frequency, etc.
The basic info like oil is all in the manual which everyone should read.
The gen provides AC at 120v and 60hz.
And pure sine wave. Or DC if you have a Ecoflow product
I’ll do a service video later 👍🏼
Great video.
Question... is there a way to extend the exhaust?
Can you show a bit on that side of the generator please?
Someone just did it and it’s the same as my original How to Install an ECOFLOW Smart Generator Exhaust Extension

@johnnysweekends thank you for the reply.
Do you provide RV setup diagrams?
No, there are to many variables
Sorry
When they get smart and stop building gas generators and build a Diesel generator then they would be at the top of the generator chain and the demand would be enormous...
But the diesel gen will be almost double the weight and double the price. So I don’t think people would buy it
@johnnysweekends that is not True anymore
Is this just a honda 3000i intergrated with ecoflow's existing product line?
I can’t say for sure unless I had two engines and tore them down
Could it be a gx200 clone which is a very old motor from Honda but proven? Very possible!
Can I use this new generator for other Ecoflow products such Delta 2 and Delta 2 Max? In addition, can I also charge other brands such as Anker? I assume, it may need some adaptor/connector?
You can use this as a normal generator to run or charge things.
You can also charge any Ecoflow item that has the xt150 connector.
So big question . Can you charge the delto pro ultra with the smart generator 4000
No there is no smart generator for DPU…. Yet
Would you recommend this or the predator 5000? Based on your findings
Honestly the predator still has issues verses the 3500 is still doing great. But if you don’t have Ecoflow products then no real reason for this.
I would go champion or Wen 4500
What I've learned recently is that yamaha sources their mz engines from Kohler actually, so that ecoflow pretty much has a kohler clone.
I don’t know if Rato would be sourcing engines from kohler, as I think they produce their own engines.
can you use the smart features with the delta max 2? i dont see anything in the literature about it?
Yes, but I don’t think firmware is ready. But I assume anytime. DP3 was priority. Then SHP2 and then anything with a XT150 connection should be coming soon..👍🏼
I wonder if the genmax fuel pump works on the Honda eu2200i?
Nope
@@johnnysweekends Thanks for the information I watch all of your videos. If someone could market a pump like this for a Honda Eu2200i I am sure they would make a fortune.
The Honda has a built in fuel pump so it can actually draw up fuel. Others gens do not so they all need gravity feed.
@@johnnysweekends I was referring more to an extended fuel tank. An bare bones extended range fuel setup is over $100. A very good extended fuel range setup is $200+. Thanks for you reply.
@@johnnysweekends I reread my question and it was lame. Thanks for your reply and I watch all of your videos.
So, the new 4000 watt generator is compatible with the original Delta Pro? Thats not listed on their website.
Yes!
I am talking about weather conditions like those in the Saudi Arabian desert 50- 55 C degrees almost every day
Are we just ignoring that he has a proton pack in the background?
YESSS……gosh….finally 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏼👊🏼
What about service, is it easy to access the service points or a PITA?
Yes the normal service stuff is easy to get to.
Oil change
Air filter
Plug
Spark arrestor are all easy
Just one 20A receptacle ? You had one job Ecoflow…
😂 yea sometimes little things would be nice. Pair of outlets and a pinch quieter 👍🏼
Hello so I am guessing that the adaptor that goes in the battery connection on the pro 3 is not the same battery connection on the ultra and does not work the same looks like you were charging the ultra with the the 120 outlet on the generator ?????
Does not work with the ultra, unless you ac charge at 120. But that’s kinda pointless
Not good for me until the "update" as I have the Power kit setup. If I'm gonna do AC in then any inverter Generator would do🤷♀
I would assume update should be days away. It already registered but wont charge yet. So I assume any time. I have been gone and just got back. Ill have to check
XT150 is just a hobby rc plug. An all hobby shops has them.
But if you don’t have data cable as well the xt150 cable is useless with Ecoflow
No data, no worky
I just purchased DPU and the the package included an EcoFlow 4000 watt generator and what was offered was cab
Why would they package these together with cables if unable to charge DC to DC?
In the comments below, someone mentioned the transfer of the DPU A/C output to the generator while charging AC charge to THE DPU
I am still waiting for the generator to do my own testing. Will be disappointed if I can’t charge the DPU efficiently with the generator while the DPU IS pushing out A/C power
The DPU can not except dc charging.
Only AC
The smart Gen can still be used and you can have full app control but it won’t be able to talk to DPU and start and stop when it needs to.
I just received my ECOFLOW 4000 watt generator
All Seems ok except for one issue: Being able to connect via Bluetooth. I have sent an email inquiry to ECOFLOW.
I have multiple devices from EcoFlow to include:
Ultra
2 waves
Delta pro 3
And a glacier
All link up to the EcoFlow app without issue.
No it won’t. So far no smart Gen for dpu. You can use AC charging but that doesn’t make it any different.
Overly complicated. More parts means more points of failure. If you're relying on a generator, you're probably already in a pickle and want something that gonna work thr FIRST TIME, EVERY TIME
Never understood why you get much less running watts when using propane. It don't compute :)
Less energy per gallon. Propane has less BTUs then gasoline so not as much energy is produced each time combustion takes place in the cylinder
The new smart gen can charge dpu by the AC power port only …

멋진 친구.. 당신이 나랑 다른 나라에 사는 것이 아쉽다
Your description says Honda inside, but in the video, you say the engine is by Rado engineering. Did I miss something ?
Yes, I explain it in the video
It does in the settings
Unfortunately it will not meet California emissions standards therefore cannot be shipped to those in California as stated on the ECOFLOW website
They are probably waiting on CARB certification. It’s a stupid paper you have to apply for. It’s just money
CA is crazy as some units qualify and some don’t even though they are the same unit.
How fast does this charge the Delta Pro Ultra 6000 Wh to full? And how much gasoline does that use?
It can only charge at 1800 watts AC only. So a normal generator would be better and cheaper
Defiantly not Honda inside.
But wait: you said that you were charging Delta Pro ultra with the Smart Generator 4000? Can you use the Ecoflow Generator to Charge Delta Pro Ultra ???? 😮
It can using ac only up to 1800 watts using the 120v Ac plug
There's one thing I don't understand: Why the charging tether doesn't automatically come as a combined cable instead of the weird gender changer module that just plugs onto the end? Either that or supply two cables, one with the twin pin and the other with that weird proprietary connector.

A fuel cell and a fuel tank are two very different things.
Not exactly many similarities depending, and it would be “too”
Idgi, it's 2 as in two, and yes it's a 1.6gal tank.
A fuel cell can be anything encased in side something.
Most refer a fuel cell as in racing applications
I hope they don't sell any of those generators. They suck no solar generators.Might be one thing, but the 4th month, so the generator is stepped back.Judge more money. that get it out of here
