Young bird is so different to the 70’s/80’s. I use to breed 16 YBS,and end up with 10/12,all flown to 210 miles. Nowadays I don’t race,but if I did,they would be raced to 100 miles then stopped. Hope you get some late ones back.
HI George , yes its alot different from the 80,s and 90,s i,m old school george i have flown pigeons for 50 years and back in the 80, and 90, this never happened , there was always 3 ,4 5 ,birds waiting to get in on the sunday morning , now that dossent happen . some fanciers are now saying it can,t all be down to raptors . what do you think george . take care .
Hi Paul, yes so far it,s been for nothing , i can only hope the rest work thier way back home . it was thirsk 131 mls s/sw wind and i never got a feather until 12.10 pm ,, and they were up at 6,30 am .take care .
Sorry you lost your young we thinking of you my husband says send all what you got in your young team as you don't no what you you got it's hard but you could have a winner please don't be put of with the losses our friend trained all his 33 young birds onley 25 miles and lost the Lott so his young bird team this year over it's sad but keep fighting on next year we going to breed you some of our young for you we no what these birds have done and we wish you loads of luck send them all you got your old bird team for next year see what comes for you let us no as we are your mates always
Hi Charlene , hope you and your husband are well , i understand what your saying about sending all my birds but to hounest i don,t want to put all my eggs in one basket , we are Bubwith 166 mls , and again i am the only one from my club sending all my members have lost all or most of thier birds , so we will see how they do tomorrow , wow what a shame for your friend loosing all his birds , well the weather is to be good for tomorrow , take care charlene thanks for the Advice .
Hi Sleepwalk , it shocking whats going on at the momment with huge losses everywhere , There is a guy down england his name is Kyle , he has 4 big cages and has over 400 racing pigeons , thats alot of strays , the weather wasint to clever either . my next race is Harrowgate 143 mls i have 25 young birds left so i may send 12 to 15 this weekend . take care .
Hi Brian , yes i will race them out , the good thing is i have secured my old bird team for next year i bred 18 young birds back in febuary from some stock birds i bought at my friend Tam Mclouds Sale . along with 16 old birds , so 34 in total , take care .

Hi , Im sorry to here that , ,,,, I think we should be allowed to use GPS trackers on our birds when they go racing so we the fancier gets to see what route the birds took , take care .
Hi Kerbyjackson, thanks for getting in touch , thats what alot of uk fanciers are saying it can,t all be down to raptors , Personaly i think the ETS has alot to do with the huge losses , back in the day this NEVER Happened , there was a;ways birds sitting waiting to get in ,, I think we should all go back to the race rubbers , What about last year when 10,000 racing pigeons ended up in spain , there are pigeon faniers all over the uk giving up the sport ,, , pigeon racing is worth 1 Billion pounds to our Economy ,,, Something NEEDS to change , Take care .
I’ve seen a lot of this year more than most but listening to a lot of people losing birds the week before young bird sickness then they miss a week or 2 then send again and lose some more i think it takes 4 full weeks to get over sickness before the birds are back to full strength

I'm sorry to hear that. They have been geoengineering the weather heavily the past 2 years in an effort to "tackle climate change". The MET office say this is done by creating a blanket of cloud to reflect the suns rays and keep temperatures cooler in summer and warmer in winter. To make this happen they have been seeding clouds with large quantities of silver iodide creating blanket cloud and near constant heavy rain. In July 2021 the UAE caused a giant rainstorm that flooded Dubai with this method, it happened again just recently and you can look it up if you think I sound crazy, the technology has been around since 1946. I believe that the high quantities of silver iodide, barium salts and aluminium oxide in the atmosphere are having an effect on the yb's ability to navigate via magnetic fields. Similar to how a chaff grenade confuses radar frequencies. There are also a lot more peregrine falcons around due to schedule 1 protection by law as a cherry on top. I will pray that your loft recovers 🙏

I see a lot of birds stay with the flocks in the streets to never return to the loft again

I lost 8 in a race and only 2 showed up next day after that nothing

Goes on here in the States, too and not just YB. I think Birds of Prey are a big factor, but it's not the only factor.

Same here in the USa 🇺🇸 started with 23 birds 2 races later I’m down to 10 birds 🤦♂️
