I remember riding it when I was maybe 5 years old and not understanding the name because I didn't know what an "incline" was. Then one of the workers started oiling the cable. I saw the guy squirting this black liquid on the cable and thought "Oh, I get it now! The *_INK line!"_*
It's been about 6yrs since we've been there. In two weeks we'll be there for my birthday. We can't wait!

Nice riding the new cars.
They are very nice, although the big windows make it a bit of a greenhouse - I'm sure they'll be much appreciated in the winter!
Every time I go on that thing I feel like the cars about to go flying down the hill after the cable breaks
Awesome! It is a very cool incline railroad! I have been there multiple times before. Did they get new incline cars?
Yes, the new cars were installed in March. This was my first visit, I wish I'd known to get there before the switch.
I've ridden that before. It's an interesting railroad. You plan on going to Tweetsie sooner or later?
I'll try to go for Heritage Weekend if they don't cancel it.
@@SmokyMtnSteam sound good to me
I've seen signs for this attraction on my way to Pigeon Forge but I've never actually been on it
Cool!
Ye
Nice video. The world's steepest inclined plane is at Johnstown, PA.
According to Wikipedia, Lookout Mountain is about 1% steeper
No actually incline railway is just ever so slightly steeper, with the steepest one being the COG Railway in New Hampshire!
Cool
How much is a ticket now ? It has been thirty years since I last rode it.
$15 for adults. I rode it with my Mom in October. Enjoyed the ride up and down! Wheelchair accessible, too!
What is the white cylinder on the front of the car for? Could it be for propane for heating in Winter?
Good question, unfortunately I don't know
It’s for the Air Conditioning and Heating.
Where was this?
Chattanooga, across town from TVRM
@SmokyMtnSteam oi!
What the hell?
Just your standard incline railway.
@David Ng ok
Love the Incline Railway. Video doesn't really do it justice though. It looks VERY steep from inside the car
Indeed it does!
