- "Matrosen von Kronstadt!", Ist eine ostdeutsche (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) Wiedergabe des populären sowjetischen Stückes, "Vorwärts, Rote Marines!". Die ursprüngliche Version erzählt von den Ereignissen des russischen Bürgerkrieges, die auf See stattfanden, jedoch erinnert die deutsche Aneignung, geschrieben von Helmut Schinkel, an den bolschewistischen Sieg über die Rebellen unter Stepan Petritschenko während der Kronstädter Rebellion.
"Sailors of Kronstadt!", is an East German (German Democatic Republic) rendition of the popular Soviet peice, "Forward, Red Marines!". The original version recounts the events of the Russian Civil War which occured at sea, however, the German appropriation, written by Helmut Schinkel, recalls the Bolshevic victory over the rebels under Stepan Petrichenko during the Kronstadt Rebellion.

Häuser die mit Balken abgestützt werden mussten damit sie nicht in sich zusammenfallen. Und da haben noch Menschen drin gewohnt! Umweltverschmutzung überall! Kaputte Straßen und stinkende Trabis! Wie in der 3 Welt! Als wäre man in einem Slum irgendwo in Afrika! Grau in Grau! Auch die Menschen! Das Einzige was es in der DDR im Überfluss gab war der Mangel! Was für ein scheiß Staat! Wer raus in den Westen wollte wurde erschossen! Die Familien als Geiseln gehalten! Bäh! Jeder der die DDR gut findet ist ein fauler Stinker!

It is sad how todaz warsaw pact is viewed as something negative and people always say that ussr ruled everything and commanded the warsaw pact which is party true but they are forgeting that ussr didnt force any of the warsaw pact countries in the afghan war which the same can not be said about NATO which forced my country in iraq or afghanistan!
Yeah, it's kind of sad how anti-communist many eastern European people can be nowadays. It's like they completely forget that socialism helped them (re)build their country into a modern nation after WW2. If they instead had fallen into the west's clutches after the war, they just would've been sucked dry by America, which is always thirsty for cheap labour and resources.

Songs and poems went to the masses and became popular. The song was known under different names: “March from 1831”, sometimes according to the chorus: “Oh, honor to you, Panov ... (O, cześć wam panowie)”, but more often “When people go to battle ... (Gdy naród do boju) ”
After gaining independence, it became one of the most popular songs of revolutionary nationalists, and in Polish villages it rose to the rank of a peasant anthem. The song was the anthem of the pro-Soviet United People’s Party of Poland (during the time of socialist Poland), the pro-Soviet People’s Army, which fought with the Germans in occupied Poland and is currently the anthem of the left-nationalist populist party “Self-Defense of the Republic of Poland”.
Thanks to the Polish revolutionaries who ended up in prison and exile, the song became familiar to the Russian revolutionaries as well. The Russian version of the song calling for a struggle against the capitalists appeared in 1905 and became popular among Moscow barricades during the December armed uprising.
