Hi everyone just wanted to apologise that this video is not in full screen as my silly self recorded the whole trip in 4x3 instead of 16x9 🙈 mistake rectified back to full screen in the next 1 🙂
If you're watching on your phone, you can zoom the screen in to make it fit. Don't know if you can do the same on a computer, though I imagine you can somehow.
Thanks Daniel for making the vlog, brings back memories of when I was driving in Italy, good luck with your travelling and look forward to seeing you back on here sometime👍👍
Good to have you back Daniel, we have missed you. I love Vegas too, I beat you on how many time I've at least 12, mind you it does help having a buddy live just outside. The thing for anyone that hasn't been is, it's not only gambling there, you can have some good times.....I think it would be great if you vlog your holidays. Stay safe......
Good to see you back 👍 being an old rock & roll trucker I love watching! It's changed a bit since my day. Sorry to hear you are leaving, you will be missed.
Great to see you back Daniel 😊 thanks for another great video, looking forward to part 2😊.if you wish to vlog your holiday please do so, every 2 weeks, or when you feel like it. Be nice to have some sunshine in Nottingham 😅for a change 😅😊😅😊take care mate. Gary.
Daniel, 100% agree with what your doing, go have some fun while your still young and you still can, go see more of the world, you will always have your HGV, and you never lose it, I had 6 years out got straight back into it like I’d never been away. The beauty of having your HGV you could always come back, hit the agency hard for a few months and go back, also I think it’s a good idea to film your trip, travel videos are very popular, airports, planes, accommodation, and the destinations you mentioned are very popular to, might earn a few beer token’s with a few adverts, good luck, enjoy and regret nothing and be safe out there. ✈️👍🍺Regards Mark
Great to see you back vbloging love your content. This trip been somewhat stressful so far, services, police and add blue Definitely looking forward Tom part 2
Really enjoying the video Daniel, thank you for the effort you put into making them. I would be more than happy to follow you on this channel and enjoy parts of your holiday with you. I think your right to take this opportunity while you can and enjoy it while you still young. As someone who is considerably older than you I would also say put a bit aside for when you retire 😂😂 it soon comes around and it will be nice to still be able to travel and do the things you love doing. Enjoy the rest of this trip and enjoy your holiday.
Nice to have you back. Been to Koh samui long time ago as part of the back packing time and loved it. Great decision to have a break as the job is anti social. Looking foward to part two.
I shipped Genoa to Malta last year. Going out was decent boat. Coming back was a fishing trawler!! 30 odd hours too stopped at catania and Livorno. Bloody slow job. I’d have loved to have driven it instead👍🏻 Great videos Dan
We had 1 go to Malta a couple of years ago on Grimaldi lines he said it was pretty much the same as that thing we were on 😂 I think we’re on the passenger boat back out of here 🙏🏾 would love nothing more than to drive it all the way though
Hi Daniel. Just let you know please have a vlog about your trip. By some reason the Cambodia is the county of mustery for me. At some point I am looking my self to get down there. Hopefully through your blog I might get some real insights. Cheers and all the best.
Gonna miss the trucking vlogs but you need to do what you need to do for yourself. You only get one chance at life and it’s definitely for living so go and have time for yourself. I’ll be watching the updates from Thailand 👍🏻
The very best of luck for the future in south east Asia, been there a few times. People are great and food is great and the cultures. Enjoy your life. Regards Jeremy
Hi there Daniel, sad to see you are hanging the keys up. People like you don't just walk in off the street. It takes everything you have to do what you do. I was the same and still am all my life. I understand completely where you are coming from as you are married to this life. I wish you well in your travels, but don't be surprised one morning when you wake up and you are thinking about being behind the wheel lol. The thing is it's a bit like an old photo of a car you once had. It looks great in the photo and that's the bit you miss. But in real life it let you down and would never start😂. You did make me laugh when describing the food on the boat. I thought to myself, nothing changes 😊. I do wish you well my friend and I feel you will return. Happy travels 👍
You’re probably right and that’s why a break will do me good. Way too much time and thought invested into here. If I come back next year then we’ll see if it really is like and old car that let me down or not 😂😂
Excellent vid mate.. no matter what part of the world ur in when plod start playing snakes + ladders ur bum always twitches even though u know u ain’t done anything wrong… sad really. Great vid an look forward to ur adventures.. hopefully plod free. 😂👍👍
We do the same job mate. Im in Thailand now I live here when not touring. Its a great life if you can find the right balance & have no commitments in UK. I try work 6-7 months in the truck & the rest of the year im out here. Enjoy Samui beware the wet season is on its way lol!
Welcome back daniel take that break u need it being a long distance truck driver myself over the years do put pressure on your personal life enjoy that break ireland
Welcome back Daniel. Gutted to hear about your festival footage, so much work down the drain. I'd be more than happy to watch your travel vlog. Do you indeed yo get back on the road in April or starting something completely new? Either way best of luck
It’s still under consideration, hopefully 7 months off will give me plenty of time to take my mind away and think about what I’m going to do. As things stand I will return to trucking and likely where I am now when I return
I presume your doing the google gig ... i did the 1st 2nd & 4th gigs for Conference haul and used to live in samui and now in Chumphon 😊 small world .... chok dee enjoy Thailand
good to see you back 'sad to hear your leaving the driving for a while but your'e right enjoy it while you can ..also noticed that your truck has Limerick plates on it any particular reason or is t=it just to get around the whole brexit thing
Yes exactly that. It’s to get around the cabotage rules for UK trucks as essentially they can’t tour in Europe (EU) and are limited to how many stops they can do now. No good for a long European tour
@@d1986scott Goodmorning Daniel! Thanks for your answer. One more guestion 😄. Those 3 weeks, is it free time for you, or do you have to work at the show?
I can understand I stop driving last month so i bought a yacht and I get it next April so lot to do this year 2024 I’m sailing around the 🌎 slowly vistas county for 2/3 weeks at 🕰️. Good luck with your trip hope to see u back some 🕰️
Yep Driving a truck is not a job. Its a way of life. I have been driving since I was 21 ( 46 years ). In later years I have always taken a 6 to 8 week extended break every year to regenerate my enthusiasm. But to be honest I would not have done any other job and in the main enjoyed almost all of it. I suppose if I had to have spent those years driving in the UK I would not have lasted long. Keep us all informed of your trips.
Couldn’t agree more I think you have to have done this kind of work to understand the way of life thing. Some people are happy working Monday to Friday, it’s a job for them and a way to pay the bills. And that’s fine. I don’t do this job to pay the bills I do it because I’m passionate about it
Assuming you mean when I was on the slip road at the services… the only thing that would have prevented me from moving is my daily rest (9 hours). I could’ve moved inside on the Saturday or Sunday without a problem as I’d had plenty of weekly rest before I started the job and was having another 24 hours off when we arrived in Sicily. On the other hand, if the police want to move you they will move you regardless of whether you’re on a daily/weekly rest or not. In that case, I would do a print out and write on it to say I had to move during my rest and get the police to sign it, which would cover me if I was to get stopped again at some point.
I’m not sure who else does events really? I watch Mat Ireland but he doesn’t do event trucking anymore. I don’t think there’s many if anyone else vlogging the event side of things
@@d1986scott 13 is a bit of an exaggeration, although a friend of mine did have that many once and I was behind him in the customs office in Calais, but 5 or 6 is common, filled out properly, the process is pretty quick now. Quick question if I may, if you're on your break on the slip road, and then move into the service, How does that work regarding tacho and being on a break? Cheers.
I could’ve moved Saturday or Sunday as I wasn’t in need of a weekly rest I’d actually just started my card on the Wednesday following a 45 hour rest and would’ve still had more than enough rest before we left on Monday afternoon. However if the police want to move you during a rest that’s up to them, in that case I would do a print out and write on it the reason for interrupting my rest and get them to sign it
