Always a huge lover of your work. 3DCoat is one of those rare softwares you're always happy to start, because you know you'll have great times playing with it ♥ Keep up the solid work !
3D coat continues to kick ass! This past year I started doing a whole bunch of sculpts and would be slowed down by having to go through the process of painting them. Then I started trying to build out a material set in a sculpt room so that I can avoid the painting process and go straight to render. Now painting PBR materials directly on voxels!? Amazing! I mean all the other awesome features are great too but this is what I've been up to so this is a huge value to me.
I finally purchased 3DCoat a week ago and have no regrets! I have always used Hexagon (Daz Studios) and loved it despite it's limitations (and the fact that DAZ will not update it) I love Hexagon for it's simplicity that I could not find in other programs. After playing around with a 3DCoat Demo it comes off like Hexagon should have been if DAZ actually cared and updated the software. The best part is having 3DCoat as a full program and not going the route of subscription based leasing like most others (minus Blender).
i still dont get it, why 3dcoat its not so famous as blender or maya, or zbrush,, since 3dcoat have so many tools and things like retophology, uv maps, and the brushes for sculpting are reallly amzing, the material painting is similar with substance,, and now this new features about the volumetric painting, really stunning and makes the worflow more easy when you wants to change something , in blender for example you must apply many nodes for can mix pbr textures and its a little annoying..... i really love 3dcoat!
This is a cool promo.. 3dcoat you gotta step it up with content. You should have sponsored daily content of creators working with 3dcoat. Like zbrush with twitch streams, UA-cam streams of real world products or characters. I like 3dcoat but I see no coverage of people using it.
@@LandOfBits i definitely agree. Its so capable but no one knows how to use it bc the layout is different feeling. All you really need is 3dcoat and blender but it would be great to see all types of workflows. Would like to also see the incorporation to nomad sculpt. Bet ppl will make the jump now that zbrush is subscription model. Its already arguably better tech software
This is not going to happen, save your breath! I've seen many requests like this over a decade. My conclusion is that somebody up there is unable to understand the importance of teaching, hence user base, hence revenues and so on.
Pixologic already had the digital sculpting market cornered and was firmly entrenched well before 3DCoat was first introduced. Therefore, they have a MUCH bigger pool of sculptors/artists, as well as a much larger staff and budget than Pilgway does. We are still a relatively small company. Nevertheless, there are hundreds of tutorials on this channel and there are 3rd party training resources also available. One example is Anton Tenitsky's channel, which has many helpful tutorials and he has a number of low cost training courses in 3DCoat. ua-cam.com/users/AntonTenitsky
@@PILGWAY3DCoat Thank you for the same answer! I've seen it countless times so far. It made me sad years ago. Now it's just another confirmation that you're ignoring this aspect. Those "hundreds of tutorials" you've just mentioned, are basically tools presentation or, even worse, timelapses. We all know 3D-Coat is a lot more yet unreachable for new joiners. So yeah, what can I say, have it your way!😞
ive been away from sculpting for like 6 years and from 3dmodelling in general for 2... looks like its time i switch from mudbox to 3dcoat and from 3dsmax to blender! or what other good sculpting options are there? zbrush is too complicated and over the top for what i do
We try hard to make 3DCoat a very strong competitor, not only in the area of sculpting, but Texture Painting (+ Retopo and UV Editing) as well. 3DCoat is the only software that lets the artist sculpt and texture paint with PBR materials simultaneously...all with Sculpt Layer functionality, so the displacement (depth) degree can later be adjusted, locally or globally. You can even use dynamic subdivision on the model, at any point, and it will preserve your sculpt layers. This is not possible in other applications. We would recommend, objectively speaking , to just try it and compare it to Mudbox and/or ZBrush. Please use the same model and similar brushes. We think you will be pleasantly surprised with 3DCoat's performance, refined feel and scope of brushes, options and tools.
This depends on whether the Nvidia RTX 4090 is seen by the system/OS as one GPU or 2. If 2, then there is no advantage (in 3DCoat) to having a 2nd GPU, currently. Even if the developers did enable dual GPU support, there would be limited use cases, where it would be able to provide some benefit. As for the Unity export options, there are no new or special options, just for Unity. In the new Simplified Export dialog, there is a UE5 optimized option because of its ability to use dense meshes. However, artists who use Unity or Blender can take advantage of the Simplified Export options as well. ua-cam.com/video/7nevI0PkF4M/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/RJFPP4WKJ-M/v-deo.html
There was a lot of work done on the UI in 3DCoat 2021 and there will be more improvements to come, but a wholesale change is a massive undertaking, and therefore not a feasible option for development. Many software companies have heard calls for such UI overhauls and they rarely occur, except for modest cosmetic and efficiency changes. ZBrush, one of our major competitors, would be among those. Furthermore, 3DCoat's UI was designed to be similar to Photoshop's layout (Tool Panel on the Left, Toolbar at the top, with Layers and Asset Panels on the right). This makes it easier for new users to get up to speed in the application. The UI is extremely customizable, so if you don't like the default layout, you can easily modify it to suit your own preferences and save each workspace layout. If that is still not sufficient, an artist can toggle into a completely minimalist layout by hitting the TAB key. The UI can be as simple or complex as the user desires. ua-cam.com/video/YGMl81KhPvc/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/WzdQW1B5zys/v-deo.html
Every sculpting software gets the same complaint about UI. 3D-Coat, ZBrush, Blender, Nomad, even Mudbox, back in the day. Everyone seems to want some miraculous user interface nobody's yet achieved. Maybe it's just the inherent nature of 3D sculpting toolsets, because it's hard to make a ton of useful features both readily available and neatly places in menus. Might just have to be one of those compromises you just accept with 3D sculpting. Though, 3D-Coat's UI is still quite customizable. 🤷🏾♂️

If you have software issues, please email support@pilgway.com. UA-cam is a poor platform to address technical software issues. Your issue could be something very simple, such as an incomplete install, Anti-Virus/Firewall blocking the app from fully functioning, etc.
After using 3D Coat for about ten years, I would say 3D Coat would be the most amazing texturing software in the world if it's texture baking tools didn't give bad results-- and sadly, most of the world of game development isn't hi-fidelity PBR and still relies on quality texture baking, especially for non-PC platforms. 3D Coat has great sculpting tools, good retopo, really really nice painting tools... but bad texture baking. How do you get so many things right... and then get the most fundamentally needed thing in game development so very wrong?
Thanks! But what is wrong with baking? Legacy baking tool is really old, but baking pipeline retopo->paint room works well IMO. It bakes everything, including factures. Also Auto-baking feature (file->decimate, bake, export) is super convenient and becomes even better with new auto-mapping.
If you have an issue such as this, please inform the support staff at support@pilgway.com, and if possible, please include a screen recording of it, so the staff can better assess what steps are needed to replicate the problem, and resolve it.

Years ago i saw 3D Coat and fall in love with it. I used to be a fan of 3D Coat, but now i'm whole air conditioner 💚
underrated ... just wanna say we need more tutorials , like someone from whom a dog can understand

Полимоделинг, вау так это теперь можно весь пайплайн мутить, вы просто красавчики, лучшие. Так держать
Oh my gosh, this software is insane! Too awesome!

couple of quick questions: Does it take good advantage of Nvidia GPU? (4090), also what are the export options for use with Unity?

ipad version when?
Hey, guys! 200 mil polys in a viewport sounds nice, but what are the specs of that PC?
It is a 12 core AMD CPU (3900X), AMD Radeon VII GPU and 128GB of RAM
Very COOL! Interface must be better.
