I have been hearing great things about these paints, but this video convinced me to buy them. Thank you for the demonstration and the link to Elrik's Hobbies :)
Nice video, informative since not much info at their website. Ordered me a few sample colors from the different lines to see how they are. Been ordering different brands to see which I like the most.
Best paints ever just got put on to them from a friend who only uses these and wins just about every show with them! I bought a few of there oil wash sets too there great also!. There weapons set and wood n leather are fantastic
i just changed to scale 75 from vallejo and i love them. vallejo have some really nice colours but no matter how long i waited the vallejo's remained tacky and would rub off when trying to paint further coats. these dry a lot faster and with thin layers only take a few seconds to dry so i am onto the next layer without messing around. also i haven't had a problem with needing to shake them till my arm is dead......the vallejo's i could shake for hours and would still have lines of unmixed colour.
It is cheaper than citadel and has more paint per bottle. It is much better paint than vallejo, but if you're not going for a professional award winning paint job I don't think they are needed. However if you want to win a painting contest, they are must haves for me personally.
Totally love their metallic paints. So I've developed a variation of the technique that Rob uses in the video with dry brushing that gives you a really neat effect. Here are the steps: 1) Paint on the darkest layer in the Scale 75 metallic range of your choice using your standard painting technique 2) Follow the order that Rob uses in the video to paint the mini but use dry brushing instead, making sure to dry brush with the darkest color first to get that flat metal look. 3) Stop when the metal takes on the brightness that you want. With Scale 75 Golds, I'll go all the way up to Elven gold if it's getting hit with light, Dwarven Gold if I want something that has some light but a little shade, and Viking Gold if it's in the dark but needs some color. Using this technique, you get a really rich and vibrant effect with a lot of shadow and depth that I haven't been able to replicate with other paints. The secret is making sure your brush doesn't have a lot of paint on it so the layers build gradually. So now I use the technique in Rob's video if I want replicate light hitting the metal and my own dry brushing variation if I want to make my metals have more depth and shadow on my mini.
that's weird, I'm in Madrid, Spain and I've never heard of them they got a cracking good website with a Spanish phone number. My local Goblin Trader stocks their paints. I'll investigate.
We re-edited some things after speaking with the owner of Scale 75, and after many requests for the video again as it was only live for about 8 hours the first go around.
The video would be better if the painted part would be in focus...Didn't really see that much difference between colors cos could not see it sharp enough.
I agree, plus the paint colours being put on were so similar to the models colour, for me I really couldn't tell if these were good paints or not based on the painted result.
there was a white dwarf issue a couple of years back when it was weekly all about painting and you got that poster. It's already a bit since they've released colours since then.

What is the thin ratio for hand painting scale 75 and alchemy
I'm actually looking at these right now so you're gonna go to guy 👍
Was there an issue with shaking up the paint in the bottle? I just got the metal and alchemy set today. Just getting started on a project with them.
The paints are REALLY thick and need to be shaken until your arm fells off
Best paints ever just got put on to them from a friend who only uses these and wins just about every show with them! I bought a few of there oil wash sets too there great also!. There weapons set and wood n leather are fantastic
I have not tried the leather set or the wood set.. Let me take a look; it might be because they were sold out
i just changed to scale 75 from vallejo and i love them.

I've heard they are supposed to be top notch above all, is it true?
they seem pretty good
Any reason why the set is priced so high even by citadel standards ? Even Vallejo offer 72 paints for the same price. Is it a premium paint ?
venom663 well its a Little cheaper than citadel
It is cheaper than citadel and has more paint per bottle. It is much better paint than vallejo, but if you're not going for a professional award winning paint job I don't think they are needed. However if you want to win a painting contest, they are must haves for me personally.
AFAIK they where affordable until new tax tariffs where applied and that’s why the set is 260ish in the USA
@@cwagner122 So...the price was TRUMPTED UP~!!!!

Showing only metallics for a review/test of a paint range that does not only include metallics is a very strange decision to me.
Thank you for your review, it helped!
looks like a new contender in the market. Never seen them in Europe.
I think they an office in Spain you can probably order from.
that's weird, I'm in Madrid, Spain and I've never heard of them they got a cracking good website with a Spanish phone number. My local Goblin Trader stocks their paints. I'll investigate.
Dave Dogge They are already some Years in the market. I bought my Scale Colours 1,5 years ago here in Germany.
isnt this an old video being reuploaded? still a good video, just asking.
We re-edited some things after speaking with the owner of Scale 75, and after many requests for the video again as it was only live for about 8 hours the first go around.
Thanks Rob!!! You rock man 🙂
Anyone have any idea where to get these paints in Canada? Specifically the west coast? Shipping from elriks + USD conversion hurts my body. :(
ebay
So, is this straight from the bottle...?
nononono
URGH,...,.he said and shows several times putting in thinner into the airbrush before adding the paint.
The video would be better if the painted part would be in focus...Didn't really see that much difference between colors cos could not see it sharp enough.
I agree, plus the paint colours being put on were so similar to the models colour, for me I really couldn't tell if these were good paints or not based on the painted result.
