You would think after 18 years there wouldn't be anything left that hasn't been seen, tried, or discovered. Especially considering how many "Secret Seekers" there are that have spent 1000's of hours traversing the Forbidden Lands in the hope of finding something new. Not to mention all those that have hacked into the games code. And yet despite all that, there are still new places to explore & new discoveries to be made.
Lol cool I stopped and stared at the first one the other day, never in a million years did I expect a hidden one! How many more things like that are hidden in the dark! 😮
Possibly many things. There are some hidden ledges inside the main temple (see video) which are not easy to see unless you light them up. The Flash Arrow comes in very handy for doing this. As for Mandala's, I'm not sure how many there are scattered around the map, but I know there are quite a few & some you can't see without using photo mode or turbo.
Hello friend, what always caught my attention is that before we get into the construction of Kuromori there is a structure on top of the mountain, since the PS2 I have wanted to go there and that has been for a while, good luck to the channel and to you.
Hi & yes I'm very well aware of that structure above the waterfalls (PS4 version). I'm going to assume that is where you see the top of the arena where you fight Kuromori. But I don't have a way to get up there & I have yet to see a video of anyone else exploring that area. I just recently left a comment to Nomad Colossus concerning this place & am waiting to hear back. Perhaps he'll make a video showing us exactly what's up there.
Wow, it would be fantastic and incredible to have a video with the view from there, he definitely does it and thank you for your time, work and dedication to this fabulous game, have a great week
@@fabiolaibachian1879 Thanks & yes it would be a nice view from up there. But what would be an even better view would be looking out over the Forbidden Lands from the very top of the main temple. If we are so lucky to get a Director's Cut of the game in 2025 to celebrate the 20th anniversary, hopefully we'll be allowed to have access to the very top of the temple. And of course get some or all of those missing colossi put back in the game.
At some point I plan to make a video showing all the waterfalls (I've counted 22 so far) & all the Mandalas. I'm not sure how many Mandalas there are presently, but the fact I found this one shows that there might very well be others hidden in dark places or in areas not easily accessible. The work of a Secret Seeker is never ending. XD
It might not evoke the same feelings as "Shadow Of The Colossus", but "Praey For The Gods" is a nice spiritual successor & has basically the same type of gameplay. You find the bosses, figure out how to climb onto them, & search for the areas where you can then take them out. Plus the map is quite extensive when fully unlocked with lots of weapons, clothing, healing items, & clever puzzles to solve.
LOL...actually I'm surprised no one has done that yet for real, watching up to the point of the first mandala & then stopping the video & complaining that the mandala isn't hidden. A lot of players probably never saw the first mandala anyway because they didn't bother to look around before going inside the tunnel. Once I find all the mandala's in the game I'll make a video showing all the locations. I have a feeling there are quite a few of them including more hidden ones.
Sí, es emocionante descubrir algo nuevo en un juego que existe desde hace 18 años. Lo mejor es que todavía hay secretos por descubrir. Yes it is exciting to discover something new in a game that's been around for 18 years. Best part is there are still secrets waiting to be found.
1:20 does anyone know why they changed the layout of where he's standing? in the og version there's a deeper pit you have to jump into and climb back up again.
Yes that's correct. And the same thing happens with the layout of the stairs leading to colossus 15 too. Not sure why the changes were made. But good of you to notice the difference. There are actually many differences between the PS4 remake & the original. But unless you've played the original many times, you might not notice many of the changes other than the look of the environment.
@@timmadone8930 I'm guessing because those minor obstacles were used to elongate the "transition corridor" into the colossi dungeon and was deemed unnecessary in the new build because they could just load the area faster with all the new techs, so they ironed it out. You may already know this, but adventure games in PS2 often have these long quiet corridors between lively/active areas not just for a breather or suspense, they were there to prevent the players from getting from Point A to Point B faster than the game could load.
@@hansalanson3497 I had some knowledge of that. I know the wormhole you go through after taking out a colossus was really a clever way to give you something to look at while the game reset. Whether or not that was it's original purpose is hard to say. It could have been planned as part of the game anyway & it just happened to coincidentally serve more than one purpose.
@@timmadone8930I knew something felt wrong about the those stairs. I've noticed so many minor environment details. I know it doesn't change the overall gameplay but it still gives me ocd lol

That's a good question. Certainly all fans of S.O.T.C. would like that. For now the closets thing we have is "Praey For The Gods" which is a nice spiritual successor that definitely needs more love as well as a physical release. As for S.O.T.C., 2025 will be the 20th anniversary of the game. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
@@colinbatty3431 I'll admit "Praey For The Gods" could have used some extra polish prior to it's digital release, but it was still fully playable.
