My journey began with a leisurely stroll down the beach promenade, where the gentle sea breeze and the soothing sounds of the waves provided the perfect introduction to Ostend's understated beauty.
Next, I wandered through Leopoldpark, a lush oasis offering a quiet retreat from the sunny beach. Time seemed to stand still among the serene paths and shaded benches.
A visit to the Mercator ship was a highlight of the day. This storied vessel has seen more of the world than most of us ever will, and it stands proudly docked as a testament to maritime adventure and history.
As the day unfolded, I indulged in the simple pleasures of gelato and waffles, each flavor a new discovery and a perfect companion to my leisurely exploration of the city streets.
I couldn’t resist a second visit to the beach, drawn back to the sand and surf for a final moment of reflection before the day ended. My route back to the train station took me past the majestic Sint Petrus en Paulus Kerk, where inside, I experienced a profound moment of clarity-immediate answers to my prayers that reminded me of the mysterious ways in which this journey was more than just physical.
